Ford Royale

EARLY ACCESS - VERY BUGGY. Expect broken rounds, weird storm behavior and desyncs. Report bugs and they'll get fixed.

A battle royale gamemode for BONELAB Fusion. Last player standing wins.

Up to 20 players on PCVR (around 10 recommended on Quest).

Maps

The mod works on most maps that are big but basically any map.

Maps that are recommended:

  • Tilted Towers
  • Simpsons Hit and Run Map
  • Wuhu Island WII Map
  • Halfway Park

More maps will be added to this list as I play the mod in different maps testing how good they work with the mod.

Features

  • Works on most maps - the storm and loot adapt to the level the lobby is in
  • Multi-circle storm with a random pattern every round, shrink warnings, a shrink sound, and a visible storm wall
  • Weapons scattered around the map in rarity tiers, plus chests, ammo boxes and launch pads
  • Top-down map you can toggle from the radial menu (hold B), showing the storm, the next circle and your position
  • Health display on your left wrist (only you can see it)
  • Quest 2/3/3S support with the same dll

Fortnite mods (optional)

The gamemode works fine with vanilla BONELAB weapons and no extra mods. If you want the Fortnite experience, install these and turn on the matching settings as host:

Note: if the host enables one of the Fortnite settings, everyone in the lobby needs that mod installed or the items won't show up for them.

Install (PCVR)

  1. Install MelonLoader 0.6.4+ on BONELAB and launch the game once
  2. Install LabFusion (LabFusion.dll goes in BONELAB\Mods)
  3. Drop FordRoyale.dll in the same Mods folder

Install (Quest standalone)

  1. Install LemonLoader on standalone BONELAB
  2. Install the Quest version of LabFusion
  3. Copy FordRoyale.dll to Melonloader/com.StressLevelZero.BONELAB/Mods with SideQuest or a file manager

Loot amounts are decided by the host, so for all-Quest lobbies let a Quest player host.

How to play

Host a Fusion server, load into a map, then pick Ford Royale in the Fusion gamemodes menu.

Host settings:

  • Minimum Players - players needed to start (default 2)
  • Fortnite Gun Mod Required - on = Fortnite weapons, off = vanilla weapons
  • Fortnite Prop Mod Required - on = chests/ammo/launch pads spawn, off = none
  • Tilted Towers Map Required - on = round only starts on Tilted Towers

Once the round starts you get a grace period to loot before the storm activates. Stay inside the wall, check the map with hold B, last one alive wins.

This is an early access build - if a round breaks, stopping and restarting the gamemode usually fixes it.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the mod doesn't show up or doesn't work properly try the 3 SIMPLE steps on setting up correctly.

  • 1st, make sure your bonelab has bonelib and the other required dependencies.
  • 2nd, Try restarting your bonelab a few times if it doesn't work right away.. Usually the mod takes 2 restarts after being installed for it to fully intialize.
  • 3rd, Check the Fusion Gamemodes and scroll to the very end until you see FordRoyale, If you dont.. you probably havent setted it up right.

This mod DOES work. and i want to thank everyone supporting me for at least playing the mod and actually having fun. And NOT saying that i should give up and things like that. I DO CARE and i want to have fun and make a mod as fun and as less buggy as can be. If you have nothing nice to say just don't say it.. also i play on Quest 3s standalone and i have played with people on PCVR and Quest 2/3/3s and its worked for everyone of those generous people who wanted to test out the mod.

  • Fixed uneven damage (host dying in one shot while others didn't) - everyone is now forced to the same health pool regardless of their avatar, so damage is equal for all players

  • Fixed Victory Royales (and the leaderboard) crashing on Quest - the mod used a player ID property that doesn't exist on the Quest build of Fusion, which threw an error mid-victory so nobody ever won. Now uses an identifier present on every platform

  • Dying players also report their death to the host over a reliable client-to-host message so deaths register on every networking layer (Steam and EOS/Quest)

  • Maps with a ceiling/sky roof (like HalfwayPark) no longer spawn loot or players on top of the roof - the mod now detects the ceiling and places everything underneath it

  • Fixed winning being completely broken - the host now reads each player's health directly every frame and eliminates the dead, instead of relying on death events/messages that were never reaching the host. The last player (or duo) standing now wins reliably

  • Fixed players sometimes spawning on top of each other - spawns are now assigned by a consistent player order so everyone lands at a different point

  • More loot, kept closer together - loot now clusters within the first storm circle instead of being flung across the whole map, and more of it lands successfully

  • Leaderboard In Lobby now lists every player in the lobby (and logs the count so issues can be diagnosed)

  • Maps can now use Fusion's GamemodeCrateSpawner components to place loot by hand - if a map has them, Ford Royale lets Fusion spawn that loot and skips its own scatter (the code raycast scatter still runs on maps without placed spawners)

  • Loot spawning is now fully automatic: if the map has Fusion gamemode crate spawners it uses those, otherwise it scatters random loot - no setting to fiddle with

  • Fixed dead players getting stuck in the sky barrier / out of bounds instead of the spectator box - the box is now placed inside the map's valid area and players are actively kept inside it

  • Custom sounds now load through a built-in managed WAV decoder (WAV only - BONELAB can't play MP3 at runtime) - no native libraries, no other mods needed, works the same on PC and Quest

  • Fixed Solos not ending when one player was left - last man standing now wins immediately

  • Fixed spawns sending players super far away, into the storm or out of bounds - players now spawn spread out but safely inside the first storm circle

  • Loot now only lands on surfaces you can stand on (streets, rooftops, interior floors) instead of clipping through walls or floating

  • Leaderboard now lists everyone in your Fusion lobby and rebuilds each time you open it

  • Added a Duos mode - host can pick Solos or Duos in the gamemode settings. Duos pairs players into teams of two: no friendly fire, you see your teammate's nametag, and a duo wins together if they're the last team standing

  • Reworked loot spawning - weapons, guns and chests now spread across the whole map and land on streets, rooftops and inside buildings instead of piling up at the spawn, with more loot overall

  • Players now spawn spread out at random spots around the map (near loot) when the round starts

  • Fixed the in-lobby leaderboard not updating kills or wins (it's now synced from the host)

  • Fixed spectator screens showing numbers instead of player display names

  • Inventories and the map fully clear between rounds
