README

RealismLab

RealismLab adds configurable localized injuries, bleeding, Fusion cosmetic hit visuals, synchronized injury/death sounds, and night vision to BONELAB. AimAssist is excluded from this package.

Injury and bleeding

  • Blood splatter marks attach to the struck avatar body part, remain while health is not recovering, then fade after regeneration begins. Fade duration is configurable in BoneMenu and synchronized to compatible Fusion clients.
  • Hits and accumulated damage can weaken or break only the struck arm or leg. BoneMenu exposes both thresholds; a second hit breaks by default, followed by a 2 second recovery blend.
  • A first hit leaves the limb mostly responsive, so it can still hold a weapon. Original joint settings are restored after recovery, full health, death/respawn, avatar changes, or disabling the feature.
  • Severe accumulated damage can hide a finger, hand, limb section, whole arm/leg, head, chest, or waist. BoneMenu exposes hit counts, thresholds, timers, bleeding, and marks.
  • A missing part animates out, emits fading tapered blood droplets and short-lived floor splatters (each drop lasts 8 seconds), and shows a world-sized elliptical, mottled red cut-end surface with a surrounding attached blood mark. An ivory bone spur can also appear at a configurable chance.
  • BoneMenu includes a toggle for the red stump cap and a slider for the bone-spur chance. Finger stumps use a smaller cap.
  • Fusion clients running either RealismLab 0.9.60 package receive limb breaks/loss, stump surfaces, hit-location wound marks and their regeneration fade, bleeding and floor drops, injury sounds, hand blood, and blood marks on nearby held objects. Screen blood/vignette and audio trauma remain on the affected player's own view. Duplicate hit reports are reconciled to avoid stacked stump effects. Remote broken limbs get a client-side hanging pose; full puppet physics stays on the player's own client.
  • If an AimAssist user selects you as a teammate, compatible clients show a small cyan team marker above both teammates through walls. When that user's aim scan sees you, you receive an original GTA V-style rising lock-warning beep.

Other features

  • Green night vision illuminates the environment with a head-directed light. It has a subtle green screen tint, fades on/off, is off by default, and has configurable controller bindings in BoneMenu.
  • Optional body recoil is off by default. Screen blood/vignette and hand/weapon blood effects are configurable.
  • BoneMenu contains all controls. Magazine sliding has been removed from this version.

Requirements

BONELAB PC with MelonLoader, BoneLib 3.2.2 or newer, and LabFusion 1.14.2 or newer.

Visual and Fusion limitations

Missing parts are shown by hiding avatar bones; they are not detached physics props and hitboxes do not change. Compatible clients see cosmetic limb poses and effects, while full puppet physics is local. The teammate selector is only in the AimAssist package and only excludes selected players from that client's aim assist; it cannot prevent Fusion damage. Friendly-fire immunity needs authoritative server-side Fusion support. Team markers and lock-warning beeps require compatible 0.9.51 clients. Custom avatars may not expose all humanoid bones.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

0.9.61

  • Stops remote limb-loss wounds from emitting repeated blood particle bursts and floor drops, preventing observer clients from filling the scene with red.
  • Keeps remote attached wound marks and stump surfaces visible; local bleeding behavior is unchanged.

0.9.60

  • Fits wound splatters to humanoid avatar bones so marks move with the struck body part on local and Fusion avatars.
  • Calibrates stump gore size and offset in world space to prevent avatar scaling from stretching the red cut surface across the view.
  • Places stump blood outside the gore cap so the red cut surface and surrounding blood remain visible.

0.9.59

  • Blood splatter decals stay on the struck avatar until health regeneration begins, then fade away over a BoneMenu-configurable duration.
  • Fusion clients receive the wound-fade event so the hit mark fades on every compatible player's view at the same time.

0.9.58

  • Sends hand and held-object blood marks through Fusion so compatible clients render them on the corresponding remote avatar hand or nearby held item.
  • Documents which injury visuals are shared and keeps personal screen overlays private to the affected player's view.

0.9.57

  • Stops already-missing limbs from receiving a new stump-loss visual for every later shot; deduplicates the provisional shooter report against the victim's wound report.
  • Uses small, tapered blood droplets that fade as they fall, with more controlled burst counts and sizes.
  • Refines stump caps into softer elliptical surfaces with mottled tissue color and darker edges.

0.9.56

  • Stops repeated remote hits on an already missing limb from creating additional stump caps at the same point.
  • Deduplicates the attacker's provisional Fusion wound against the struck player's authoritative wound, avoiding stacked remote blood/stump visuals.
  • In the AimAssist build, suppresses collapsed skeleton-overlay links at hidden joints so they do not form bright spokes.
  • Refines the stump surface into a smoother elliptical cut with mottled tissue texture, layered dark-red edges, and a wet-looking center.

0.9.55

  • Adds a ragged, layered red gore cap on missing-part stumps, so a severed end has a visible cut surface between blood sprays.
  • Adds a BoneMenu toggle for the stump gore cap; it is on by default and applies to finger-sized stumps as well as larger limb, head, neck, and torso losses.
  • Carries the stump-gore and small-stump visual flags through the existing Fusion wound message so compatible clients can render the same cap.

0.9.54

  • Adds a randomized ivory bone spur at a missing finger, hand, limb-section, whole-limb, or neck stump.
  • Adds a BoneMenu percentage setting for bone-spur chance (35% by default, adjustable from 0 to 100).
  • Carries the chosen spur flag with the existing Fusion wound message, so compatible RealismLab clients render the same stump detail without changing the RPC signature.

0.9.53

  • Assigns a visible splatter material and billboard mode to the blood particle system, fixing stump gushes that were emitted but not rendered.
  • Makes severe limb, finger, hand, head, chest, and hip wounds spray stronger repeated bursts and leave short-lived floor splashes more often, while retaining particle and drop caps.
  • Anchors networked missing-finger wounds to the hand so the bleeding stays visible after the finger bone is hidden.
  • Keeps the existing synchronized limb-loss and bleeding sounds for compatible RealismLab clients.

0.9.51

  • Routes aim-lock beeps to the Fusion player being targeted; the aiming player no longer hears their own lock cue.
  • Isolates transient target and per-frame update errors, retries target scans, and prunes stale aim-tracking data so aim assist can recover during long sessions.
  • Keeps blood marks at their configured world size on scaled avatars and held items, preventing stretched marks.
  • Adds a safe stump-anchor fallback and keeps severe-wound floor drops flowing even when blood particles are throttled.

0.9.50

  • Counts both hit number and accumulated damage toward localized limb breaks, and synchronizes a limb-only limp pose plus snap audio to compatible Fusion clients.
  • Makes severe limb-loss blood pulse more often, leaves ground splatters for eight seconds, and caps active ground marks to protect performance.
  • Raises the default injury-sound volume and replays missing snap/loss cues from limb-state changes on compatible clients.

0.9.49

  • Removes the magazine sliding feature from both packages.
  • Adds a synchronized kill-confirm sound for confirmed NPC and Fusion-player deaths.
  • Keeps synchronized injury, bone-snap, and limb-loss sounds available to compatible clients using either package.
  • Receives shared cyan through-wall teammate markers and targeted rising lock-warning beeps from compatible AimAssist clients.

0.9.48

  • Adds additional NVG controller-toggle choices for grip, trigger, and menu buttons on either hand.

0.9.47

  • Fixes magazine insertion animation for root-rendered magazine models, and uses a stable captured destination so the slide completes reliably.

0.9.46

  • Makes localized limb injury visuals enabled by default and restores a distinct whole-limb-loss setting.
  • Keeps one-hit weakness mild; broken limbs fully relax and recover on the configured timer.
  • Shares client-side Fusion limb-loss and stump-bleeding visuals with compatible RealismLab clients.
  • Animates visible magazines from their pre-insert pose into the receiver.
  • Adds controller-toggleable green night vision with a fading environment light and screen tint.
  • Rebuilds this package without aim-assist hooks, pages, or target skeletons.

0.9.45

  • Adds updated injury defaults and separate whole-limb-loss controls.
