ClipLink Media for BONELAB
ClipLink Media v4.0.0 is an all-in-one Windows PC BONELAB MelonLoader mod. It keeps the complete YouTube-to-MP4 workflow and adds a separate general BONELAB utility toolbox with session information, timers, notes, counters, random tools, local audio/FPS controls, reports, and clipboard helpers.
All-in-one controls
- YouTube browser - no login searches public video titles and copies the selected normal YouTube URL.
- Make public MP4 URL downloads the copied video, uploads it to Litterbox, and automatically copies the direct MP4 URL.
- Download MP4 only saves the file under
UserData/ClipLinkMedia/Downloadswithout uploading it. - Public-link expiry selects 1, 12, 24, or 72 hours. The selection is saved for next time.
- Recent public URLs saves up to eight unexpired results with their expiry times. Select one to copy it again.
- Copy last public URL and Open last public URL reuse the newest result.
- Cancel current job stops the active yt-dlp download or Litterbox upload.
- MP4 quality saves a Best, 720p, 480p, or 360p choice for future jobs.
- Recent searches reruns saved YouTube searches, and Recently selected videos copies earlier selections again.
- Repeat last video recreates a public URL or local download without searching again.
- Setup and folders checks yt-dlp/Fusion, opens the ClipLink and downloads folders, opens YouTube, and opens the official yt-dlp download.
- Clipboard tools inspect or open the copied URL, and statistics/setup-report controls help diagnose a problem.
- Favorite videos stores up to 20 favorite YouTube links.
- Batch video queue processes up to 10 videos as public links or local downloads.
- Preview copied video loads title, channel, duration, selected format, resolution, and estimated size without downloading it.
- Downloaded MP4 library lists recent local MP4 files and copies a selected file path.
- Progress, success, cancellation, and failure notifications appear in game.
General BONELAB utility toolbox
- Session dashboard: clock, scene, uptime, measured FPS, headset position, session report, and device report.
- Stopwatch and timers: start/pause/reset stopwatch plus 1/5/10/15-minute countdowns.
- Notes and tally: save a personal note across launches and keep a persistent counter.
- Dice and random tools: coin flip, D6, D10, D20, 1-100, and yes/no.
- Local audio and FPS: mute/25%/50%/75%/100% volume, 72/90/120/unlimited target FPS, and VSync on/off.
- Clipboard helpers: copy local or UTC timestamps, the current scene, headset position, or a complete session report.
- Notification tester: test information, success, warning, and error popups.
The utility controls are local. They do not grant Fusion permissions, affect other players, or change network ownership.
Use with Media Player
- Open
ClipLink Mediain BoneMenu and choose YouTube browser - no login. - Select Search, type a search, press Enter, and choose Search YouTube.
- Select a video title. Its YouTube link is copied automatically.
- Return to the main ClipLink page and turn on I own / have permission.
- Optionally choose MP4 quality and Public-link expiry.
- Choose Make public MP4 URL.
- Wait for the completion notification. The direct MP4 URL is now in the Windows clipboard.
- Paste that URL into the mod.io Media Player, including while using Fusion.
The browser uses signed-out public requests: no Google login, cookies, or API key are used. It shows clickable video titles instead of embedding the complete YouTube site. Open YouTube on desktop is available as a fallback.
The mod does not patch or redistribute Media Player. It prepares and copies a compatible direct link for you to paste into Media Player.
Fusion OWNER tag
Players who install ClipLink Media see a gold OWNER label above the creator's avatar in Fusion. The label is a separate local visual: it does not change the creator's Fusion nickname, and players without this mod installed will not see it.
The OWNER label is cosmetic only. It does not grant server ownership, host controls, moderation permissions, or any gameplay advantage.
Install yt-dlp from GitHub
The Thunderstore package does not bundle another project's executable. Download the official Windows file from GitHub: Download yt-dlp.exe. The ClipLink v4.0.0 GitHub release also keeps the same verified file as a separate yt-dlp.exe asset. Do not add the EXE to the Thunderstore ZIP.
In BoneMenu, choose Setup and folders, then Open ClipLink folder. Move the downloaded yt-dlp.exe into that folder. The full path normally ends in UserData/ClipLinkMedia/yt-dlp.exe. Get yt-dlp from GitHub opens the official download directly, and Check setup confirms when it is found.
Installation
Import the ZIP with Thunderstore Mod Manager or copy its contents into the BONELAB installation folder. The package contains the mod DLL and required Thunderstore metadata; it contains no EXE.
Required: MelonLoader, BoneLib, Fusion, and a separately downloaded yt-dlp.exe. The Media Player content pack is separate.
Only download and publicly upload videos you own or have permission to use. ClipLink Media has a 1 GB safety limit, and temporary Litterbox links expire at the selected time. YouTube account-only, DRM-protected, age-restricted, or unavailable videos may fail.
CHANGELOG
Changelog
5.11.0
- Removed the entire ClipLink player-ban and access-denial system.
- Removed the remote, cached, and embedded ban list, saved access receipts, blocked menu, owner ban UI, and Fusion ban-command message.
- Removed
banned-users.jsonand its embedded resource. - ClipLink keeps only the cosmetic
OWNERlabel and normal Fusion mod-presence detection; it has no moderation authority. - Preserved v5.10's manual executable setup and EXE-free Thunderstore package.
5.10.0
- Removed all code that downloaded the external
ClipLinkYouTubeBrowser.execompanion. - ClipLink never automatically downloads an executable; browser and yt-dlp setup now use manual GitHub release-page links only.
- Open REAL YouTube GUI now warns when the manually installed companion is missing instead of downloading it.
- Removed the executable-download HTTP client, direct executable download URLs, background installer, partial-file handling, and automatic post-download launch.
- Kept the Thunderstore package EXE-free and documented the manual setup requirement clearly.
5.9.0
- Added an owner-only in-game Fusion player picker under Owner in-game bans.
- The owner can select a current player by name and press BAN or UNBAN twice to confirm the action.
- Owner decisions are saved locally and re-sent whenever that Steam account joins the owner's Fusion lobby.
- Ban commands are accepted only when Fusion identifies the sender as the hardcoded ClipLink owner and the command targets the receiving Steam account.
- A received ban cancels ClipLink work, replaces the normal menu with an access-denied page, and remains active on later launches. A verified unban restores the menu.
- In-game enforcement requires both players to run ClipLink Media v5.9.0 or newer and remains best-effort client-side access control.
5.8.0
- Added a best-effort Steam-ID ban list for the official ClipLink build.
- The mod checks the GitHub list at startup, caches the last valid list, and embeds a release-time fallback for offline checks.
- A listed user receives an access-denied BoneMenu instead of the ClipLink media and utility controls.
- Added owner-only controls to copy current Fusion names/Steam IDs and open the GitHub ban-list editor.
- The owner Steam ID is protected from accidental self-bans. No player list or Steam ID is uploaded by the mod.
5.7.0
- Reverted the v5.6.0 in-menu webpage-frame experiment.
- Restored the v5.5 behavior: REAL YouTube website opens the actual signed-out YouTube GUI in the separate WebView2 companion window.
- Kept automatic selected-video URL copying, in-game notifications, Media Player controls, automatic companion installation, and the native thumbnail fallback.
- Used a new package version so Thunderstore accepts the reverted build without a duplicate-version error.
5.5.0
- Added a companion browser that displays YouTube's actual live website GUI through Microsoft WebView2 instead of recreating its appearance in BoneMenu.
- The companion opens in a private signed-out profile and blocks Google account-login navigation.
- Clicking a watch, Short, live, or
youtu.bevideo automatically normalizes and copies its standard YouTube watch URL. - Added BoneMenu controls to open, install/update, check, and locate the real YouTube GUI, plus controls to copy its last selection or spawn Media Player with that selection.
- Added automatic in-game detection of newly selected real-browser videos, including a success notification and recent-video persistence.
- The mod can download the separate companion EXE from the GitHub release and shows an in-game notification when installation finishes. The Thunderstore package remains EXE-free.
- Kept the native thumbnail search as an explicitly labeled fallback.
5.4.0
- Rebuilt the signed-out YouTube browser as a visual YouTube-style BoneMenu interface that remains clickable in VR.
- Added a dark video-browser background, red header, generated play logo, larger video-card spacing, and real 16:9 thumbnails from YouTube's thumbnail host.
- Selecting a thumbnail copies the video's normal YouTube URL exactly like the previous title button, so the existing workflow is preserved.
- Added an Explore page for BONELAB, VR gaming, Gaming, Music, trending videos, and Media Player tutorials.
- Added thumbnail cards to recently selected videos and favorites, with titles and URLs retained in each card's info tooltip.
- Kept the browser signed out: it uses no Google login, cookies, API key, or embedded account session.
5.3.0
- Added a Fusion presence handshake that confirms which current lobby players are running ClipLink Media v5.3.0 or newer.
- Added in-game controls to show, copy, and refresh the confirmed ClipLink user list, including player names and reported mod versions.
- Added a notification when another ClipLink user is detected in the lobby; presence is session-local and is not sent to an external tracking service.
- Fixed the YouTube 403 path by retrying failed default downloads with the Android VR and Safari player clients instead of forcing the broken iOS client path.
- Added three bounded Litterbox upload attempts, safe upload filenames, response validation, and clearer server/WAF error reporting.
- Failed Litterbox uploads now preserve the completed MP4 in ClipLink Downloads instead of deleting it.
- Added Retry saved failed upload, which retries the preserved file without downloading the YouTube video again.
5.2.0
- Media Players spawned from ClipLink now use LabFusion's
NetworkAssetSpawnerwhile connected to a Fusion server. - Network spawns use
EntitySource.Player, a visible spawn effect, and a completion callback that confirms the replicated entity was created. - Single-player sessions retain the existing local BoneLib spawn path.
- The setup check now reports whether Fusion-networked or single-player spawning is active and reminds lobby members that the Media Player content pack is required.
5.1.0
- Added a one-click BoneMenu button that spawns the installed Elijoe Media Player in front of the player's headset.
- Added a Media Player spawner page with the standard player, flatscreen TV, CRT TV, phone, computer monitor, and boom box variants.
- Added a shortcut that copies the last generated direct MP4 URL and spawns the standard player, ready for the player to grab and press B.
- Added an in-game setup check with a clear warning when the Elijoe Media Player content pallet is missing or disabled.
5.0.0
- Replaced the dice/random/tally/notification-test filler with practical troubleshooting and maintenance tools.
- Added dependency/mod health checks, duplicate and zero-byte DLL detection, installed-mod export, recent log-error extraction, and a complete support report.
- Added Fusion player-count, player-list, and session-report diagnostics without exposing platform IDs.
- Added YouTube/Litterbox/GitHub connectivity tests and a GitHub release update checker.
- Added screenshot capture, ClipLink settings/history backups, disk-space checks, and shortcuts to the active Mods, MelonLoader, UserData, BONELAB, screenshot, and backup folders.
- Added optional sustained-low-FPS warnings with 45, 60, and 72 FPS thresholds.
- Added confirmed cleanup restricted to non-reparse-point ClipLinkMediaJobs subfolders older than 24 hours.
- Kept the useful session dashboard, stopwatch/countdowns, support notes, local audio/FPS controls, clipboard helpers, complete media workflow, and Fusion OWNER label.
4.0.0
- Added a separate general BONELAB utility toolbox unrelated to the media workflow.
- Added a session dashboard with clock, scene, uptime, measured FPS, headset position, session reports, and device reports.
- Added a stopwatch plus 1, 5, 10, and 15-minute countdown timers with completion notifications.
- Added persistent personal notes and a persistent tally counter.
- Added coin flips, D6/D10/D20 rolls, random 1-100, and yes/no selection tools.
- Added local audio levels, target FPS choices, VSync controls, clipboard helpers, and notification tests.
