README

Recording Archiver

Keep Content Warning recordings outside the temporary Rec folder. Browse the current match by incursion and player, then prepare a TV disc with one clip or all clips in order.

Requirements and installation

  • Required: BepInExPack 5.4.2305 (BepInEx-BepInExPack-5.4.2305). Tested on Content Warning 1.24.0, Windows x64 / Unity 6 Mono.
  • Optional: ContentPOVs for camera-owner metadata; Virality for larger lobbies. Neither is required or included. Use versions compatible with your game.
  • Install through r2modman or Thunderstore Mod Manager and launch modded. For a local ZIP, install BepInExPack separately, then use Import local mod. Remove older duplicate copies and restart.
  • For manual installation, place both DLLs from the ZIP together in BepInEx/plugins/RecordingArchiver/.

Archiving is local. Shared discs require this mod and the selected clips on every client; the host prepares discs. Use the same release across the lobby.

Controls

Action Default
Use the console beside the TV Game interaction key, normally E
Open / close the recording terminal Left Ctrl+U
Open the archive folder Left Ctrl+O
Pause / resume TV playback Left Ctrl+P
Finish TV playback Left Ctrl+J

Shortcuts are configurable. TV controls require the host to be nearby. The in-game terminal currently uses Spanish labels.

Storage and payments

Recordings default to your Windows Videos/ContentWarning folder, grouped as YYYYMMDD_M_<match>/I_001_<incursion>/.... I_001 includes the initial surface, first dive and return. Player folder names are sanitized; original names remain in metadata.

Pending original payments are enabled by default and shared by clips from the same native recording. Extra payments require the separate, unchecked option. Playing a single clip first can consume that recording's original payment.

Configuration: BepInEx/config/local.contentwarning.recordingarchiver.cfg. Set General.OutputDirectory to change storage.

Only locally available media can be archived. Retained sources in Rec_RA are not automatically deleted and can consume extra disk space. The downloaded ZIP includes docs/USER_GUIDE.md, docs/DEPENDENCIES.md and docs/RECOVERY.md for details.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

1.6.2

  • Short English README with current controls, installation, storage and payment behavior.
  • Required BepInExPack dependency documented separately from optional ContentPOVs / Virality integrations and game-provided assemblies.
  • English user guide, dependency notes and recovery instructions included in the ZIP.
  • English package description replaces outdated F7/F8 references. Package validation now checks manifest fields, dependencies and document encoding.
  • Publishing notes explain rejection versus visibility delays; no moderation approval is claimed.
  • Runtime behavior is unchanged from 1.6.1.

Earlier entries describe controls at the time of release. See README.md for current shortcuts.

1.6.1

  • Initial surface footage now shares I_001, its ID and folder with the first dive and return. The second dive starts I_002.
  • NFC player-folder normalization retains accents, filters emojis / controls / symbols and preserves original names in UI / metadata.
  • Windows reserved-name protection and truncation without splitting UTF-16 pairs; identity suffixes distinguish normalized-name collisions.
  • Seven new organization / naming scenarios. Shared terminals require the 1.6.1 grouping protocol.

1.6.0

  • Incursion, player and individual / all-clips navigation; historical I_000 labeled Surface.
  • Fixed clip scopes and a single current sequence replace duplicate cumulative versions. Previously prepared subsets remain resolvable as new clips arrive.
  • Player IDs separate equal display names; original recordings stay distinct within a player's list.
  • Independent event buffers use selected-disc timings while retaining native scores. Full recordings are reused only for an exact selection.
  • Individual clips and sequences share the original recording's payment receipt; extra payment remains explicit and unchecked.
  • Groups above 128 clips retain individual playback without blocking other groups. Ten new scenarios brought the independent suite to 92 passing tests.

1.5.1

  • Proximity follows the player's physical body instead of its detached root, including console and TV controls.
  • Placement avoids movable furniture, including chairs, and tries additional supported positions.
  • Version shown in the shortcut hint; native interaction prompt uses the configured game key, normally E.
  • Configurable Ctrl+U/O/P/J shortcuts replace F7-F10.

1.5.0

  • Physical console beside the surface TV with native interaction, collider and outline.
  • Normal interaction and the historical F8 shortcut use the same guarded terminal action; F7 opens the archive folder.
  • Supported placement near the TV floor level, one local instance per scene, with owned geometry / material cleanup.
  • Four additional isolated physics / interaction checks and a URP model capture; real-scene placement remained a manual check.

1.4.0

  • Configurable folder shortcut and terminal button with visible destination errors.
  • Native menu fonts, backgrounds, buttons, selection effects and sounds without distributing game assets.
  • Escape closes the terminal without opening the pause menu; keyboard focus, persistent selection and labels adapted to 800x600.
  • Generic internal row names avoid logging player names through native button behavior; destroyed TV-screen hint handling fixed.
  • Three additional interface / folder checks.

1.3.0

  • Nearby host TV controls: historical F9 pause / resume, F10 or a second interaction to finish.
  • Video and visual evaluation pause together; finishing preserves the native callback and payment receipts.
  • Ordered commands validate host, recording, generation and revision. Incompatible clients disable shared controls; lost footage keeps native behavior.
  • Isolated Unity playback checks with two synthetic clips, in addition to 82 core scenarios. Connected validation remained pending.

1.2.0

  • Terminal navigation and host-inventory disc preparation from verified live, retained or archived clips.
  • Client readiness acknowledgements before delivery; native score / revenue evaluation with pending payment enabled and extra payment disabled by default.
  • Original-video / payment-phase receipts prevent retry and snapshot duplicates and remain tied to their campaign.
  • Owned playback-cache cleanup and abandoned-cache recovery. Single-clip or matching native full-video export; clip-by-clip playback otherwise.
  • 82 independent tests and isolated native-method checks; connected multiplayer, host migration and Virality validation remained pending.

1.1.1

  • YYYYMMDD_M_ prefixes for new match folders, using the fixed local start date across incursions and midnight.
  • Existing archive paths preserved; invalid dates rejected. Three additional date / folder scenarios.

1.1.0

  • Room-visit and underground-arrival scopes with local ordinals, game days and per-clip provenance.
  • Sources retained in Rec_RA before verified cleanup / replacement, with manifests and restart recovery.
  • Protection for clip folders, extraction, native stitching and received-file saves without changing game network paths. Failed retention blocks the destructive operation.
  • Schema migration preserves existing archive paths; reused IDs remain separated across incursions.
  • 51 independent scenarios plus native-method checks on isolated synthetic files. Retained batches require manual verification and cleanup.

1.0.0

  • Local archiving with stability checks, streamed copies, SHA-256 verification and publication without overwriting older files.
  • File versions, explicitly incomplete snapshots and recovery journals.
  • Session / recording / clip metadata distinguishes holder, encoder and camera owner.
  • BepInEx integration, Harmony observation, local r2modman package and independent tests. No verified multiplayer / playback compatibility was claimed.
