README

GK2 Thoughtful Week

Know what today is good for.

  • A morning thought. When a new day starts, your keeper thinks about what the day is good for: a sermon, a resurrection, the merchant ship, a fight, and whether a town order waits at the order board.
  • The week (F3). Today, the days ahead, and your town orders with their progress: ready to collect or still short.
  • An evening reminder. Late in the day, if the day's one-a-week thing isn't done yet (the sermon, a resurrection, taking town orders, the PR Machine, a battle, the Goddess's crystals, telling Agatha on Wrath how many corpses you need), a thought reminds you while there's still time. Also when finished town orders still wait at the order board for their reward. Each one can be switched off.
  • Day and time on the HUD. Today's day and the time on a small plate under the likes counter, in the game's own style; a click opens the week. Both can be switched off.
  • Any time: press U to see today's thought again. The week window also has a clock: how long until night or dawn, in real minutes too.
  • No spoilers: only what you've unlocked is shown.
  • 11 languages, in the game's own words. Gamepad: L2+L3 opens the week, B closes it; with Keeper's Lantern installed, its controller wheel has an "Open the week" entry.
  • The ? button in the week window opens the FAQ.

Settings

In the settings window of the SaintArchI mods (F7, or the "SaintArchI mods" button in the pause menu), in the Mods menu (with GK2 Mod Framework), in ConfigurationManager, or in BepInEx/config/gk2.thoughtfulweek.cfg. The settings are grouped in blocks (Morning reminder, Evening reminder, Week window, Day and time on screen, Gamepad, Language); the reminder times are in game hours; Settings.txt next to the DLL explains each one, in the game's languages. Your old values are kept.

Works with

  • Made for game 1.010 (the order slots that grow with the town are counted as the game counts them).
  • Sermon Every Day and Resurrect Every Day: those reminders stay quiet.
  • Travalgard's mods: Clerk Desk (no order-board reminder while its clerk collects the rewards); sewer brawls and the arena don't count as the Sloth battle; Keeper's Lantern (its wheel keeps L3; our L3 binding steps back while the wheel is on, a setting keeps it); No Sleep No Tomorrow (the evening hour stops before its 23:30).
  • GK2 Codex shows the day's line on its Now page.

Manual install

Put GK2ThoughtfulWeek.dll, the Settings*.txt files and the Localization folder into BepInEx/plugins/GK2ThoughtfulWeek/. Needs BepInEx 5.4.23.x (x64).

CHANGELOG

Changelog

0.5.1

  • Settings: type a value next to any slider in the shared settings window (F7).
  • Changed: the "Pause menu button" setting says plainly that F7 still opens the window when the button is hidden; with the button hidden, the gamepad no longer lands on it.
  • Made for game 1.010.

0.5.0

  • Added: an evening reminder on Wrath to tell Agatha how many corpses you need. Wrath is the only day she takes a new count; her answer stays until you change it. Thanks Azraile!
  • Added: an evening reminder when finished town orders wait at the order board for their reward. It stays quiet while Travalgard's Clerk Desk has a clerk collecting them, and so does the morning "An order is ready to hand in". Thanks shivalwolf!
  • Added: today's day and the time on a small plate under the likes counter, in the game's style; a click opens the week. It hides with the game's HUD and while the tech points panel slides out. Both can be switched off; with the day and time off nothing is drawn.
  • Added: with Travalgard's Keeper's Lantern installed, its controller wheel has an "Open the week" entry with today's day sign.
  • Added: the shared settings window of the SaintArchI mods (F7, the "SaintArchI mods" button in the pause menu, or Keeper's Lantern's wheel) shows Thoughtful Week with all its settings, and a "?" button in the week window opens the FAQ (https://artemiyxx.github.io/gk2-mods-faq/).
  • Changed: the settings are grouped in blocks (Morning reminder, Evening reminder, Week window, Day and time on screen, Gamepad, Language) with the same names in the Mods menu and F1; the times are in game hours (morning 1.2 = 01:12, evening 17 = 17:00); Language is in the Mods menu; Settings.txt next to the DLL explains every setting, in the game's languages. Your old values are kept.
  • Changed: the six days and the other names follow the game's own words in every language.
  • Changed: at startup the week table is checked against the game's own data; anything that no longer matches goes to the log (nothing on screen).
  • Fixed: the Sloth battle reminder is no longer silenced by sewer brawls, the arena or part I of a two-part battle. Reloading the same day no longer brings back the battle or corpse-count reminder. "Tomorrow / in N days" follows the game when a story event changes the next day.
  • Fixed: with Keeper's Lantern, LT+L3 no longer opens the week and its wheel at once: our L3 binding steps back while its wheel is on (setting "Keep L3 with Keeper's Lantern"), and follows its wheel switch within a few seconds. F3 and U don't fire while you type or while its hub is open; rebinds in the game's Controls are seen.
  • Fixed: the week window scrolled the wrong way with the stick; a reload of the game's language with the same language (a controller connecting) no longer rebuilds the week window.
  • Made for game 1.010 (the order slots that grow with the town are counted as the game counts them). "[Diag]" lines for a compatibility test are off by default (Debug.Diagnostics in the cfg).

0.4.8

  • Added: an evening reminder. Late in a day whose one-a-week thing isn't done yet, your keeper thinks of it while there's still time: no sermon yet on Wrath, no one raised on Envy, free town order slots on Pride (new orders can only be taken that day), the PR machine not running on Gluttony, a battle on offer on Sloth, the Goddess's crystals still lying by her statue on Lust. Nothing is said about what's done or what you haven't met yet. Each one has its own switch, and the time of day can be set (section "Evening"). Thanks biyyuu!
  • Changed: quitting the game is quicker: the mod no longer undoes its changes to the game on the way out.

0.4.7

  • Changed: quitting the game is quicker: the mod no longer undoes its changes to the game on the way out.

0.4.6

  • Added: the game pauses while the week window is open, as it does for its own windows (setting "Pause the game", on by default). Thanks Tubyone!
  • Fixed: the mod didn't show up in the GK2 Mod Framework's Mods menu when BepInEx happened to load it before the Framework.

0.4.5

  • Fixed: after typing with an input method (e.g. Chinese), the mod's hotkeys could stop working until Shift or Ctrl was pressed again. Hotkeys now ignore keys that aren't part of them.

0.4.4

  • Fixed: with another mod that makes the game create a second input handler (Kebo Mod's "Start work once" option), the controller did nothing in the week window after opening it. Thanks Echelon for tracking it down!

0.4.3

  • Added: Text size / Window size settings.
  • Fixed: the merchant ship showed up on Lust before you got to it (spoiler).
  • Added: a + next to each town order in the week window adds it to Shopping List (when installed).
  • Changed: the U hotkey is ignored when U is one of the game's own keys.

0.4.2

  • Added: translations from files. Localization/en.json next to the DLL is the template: copy it to .json (e.g. uk.json, it.json) and translate. A file also overrides the built-in texts; the new Language setting picks a language the game doesn't have.

0.4.1

  • Changed: for game 1.006, which counts town orders as soon as the goods are on the pallets (and every night), not only on Pride. The eve-of-Pride warning about short orders is gone, and a full order reads "all there, counted tonight".

0.4.0

  • Added: the thought also shows a few seconds after you load a save (can be turned off).
  • Added: press U (or bind a gamepad button) to see today's thought at any time.
  • Added: gamepad: L2+L3 opens and closes the week, B closes it, the stick scrolls it. Before, a pad couldn't open the week at all, or close it once open.
  • Added: the Goddess's blue crystals on Envy, and a note when crystals are still waiting at her statue.
  • Added: the looters' orders and the new people scrolls on Lust, the corpse order on Wrath.
  • Added: a clock in the week window: the game time and how long until night or dawn, in game hours and real minutes. Works with longer-day and time speed-up mods.
  • Changed: the week window lost the "Today" heading, and with it the scroll bar.
  • Fixed: the thought no longer garbles an NPC's lines when it shows up during a conversation.

0.3.0

First release (Nexus and Thunderstore).

  • Added: morning thought about the day and the town orders.
  • Added: week panel (F3): today, orders with progress, the days ahead.
  • Added: works with Sermon Every Day and Resurrect Every Day.
  • Added: settings in the Mods menu, in the game's language.

Based on the idea of p1xel8ted's Thoughtful Reminders for the first Graveyard Keeper.
