README
The MAS44 was France's attempt at making a battle rifle in time for WWII; while several prototype rifles had been developed, because of the Occupation of France, many of these rifles had been "repuporsed" by Axis troops, and development didn't resume until after the war.
Besides the MAS44, you also get the prototype MAS 40, which has a fixed internal magazine, and the MAS 38/39, which uses Chatellerault magazines. All three rifles use stripper clips as well.
