Sterling .30 Cal Prototype
In another department where some egghead realized something, they could technically fit a .30 Cal M1 Carbine mags into the gun and make it more attractive to be sold in some other countries where M1 Carbines are plenty.
Or maybe that engineer just likes .30 Cal carbine. There is literally only one mentioned in some blog about its creation so its faithful reproduction here is questioned but let's not argue about if it's realistic and just use it like a carbine.
