README

More Colours

Adds a Colours screen to the Options menu where you can recolour the HUD. Every colour has an on/off toggle, a reset button and an animated preview, so you can see what you're doing.

What you can recolour

  • Palette: the shared colours the game uses all over the place. Red (damage markers, money loss, boss bar, chat names), green (money and bait gain), orange (highlights) and the mini-boss colour.
  • Score: Popup, multiplier, main line score and text (both typing and finished), bonus lines.
  • Combat: hitmarkers and damage numbers, with separate killing blow colours.
  • Money and bait: the money counter. The floating +$/-$ texts follow the palette.
  • Vitals: health and hunger rings, their trails, poison and fire rings, low icon tints.
  • Boss: the boss and mini-boss bars, the damage trail, the time left bar and the boss name.
  • Chat: the [Server] tag and player name colours.
  • Misc: the item text, item dots (normal and alive fish), the caught fish name.
  • Slot machine: the common / rare / legendary skin outlines.
  • Drip text.

Colour picking uses the same palette grid as the character customizer, RGBA sliders and hex. 8 built in themes and you can save your own presets.

Installation

Use a mod manager, or drop MoreColours.dll into BepInEx/plugins.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

1.0.5

  • Alive bosses can have their own dot colour, separate from alive fish.
  • Items that share a name show their internal name next to it so you can tell them apart, snowballs are named by size, and the spare copies the game never actually spawns are hidden.
  • More Menu colours: button borders and fills, sliders and their handles, and the arrows.
  • Menu colours apply the moment the options screen opens instead of a few seconds after.
  • The item search box and scrollbar use the game's own art.

1.0.4

  • New Item Dots section: fish, weapons, alive fish and dead players can each have their own colour, with a base colour for everything else.
  • The item dot options moved out of HUD into that section. Colours you already set are kept.
  • Any single item or fish can have its own dot colour. Search for it in the box under the Item Dots list.

1.0.3

  • Menu colours reset to white when the mouse moved over a button.

1.0.2

  • New Screen Effects section: the damage flash, poison, fire and ate food glow round the edge of the screen, each with its own on/off switch.
  • New section for particles and splatter decals.
  • New Menu section: the game title, the main menu buttons and the options screen text.
  • The Colours button now uses the same font as the other tabs. (fixed)
  • Works alongside other mods that add their own tabs to the options screen.

1.0.1

  • Colours and presets save properly now. Settings were being dropped on write, so everything reset to default when you restarted the game.
  • Saved presets were coming out empty and always loaded as default.
  • Presets are plain text and can be shared with the Copy and Paste buttons. The Folder button opens where they are kept.
  • Built in themes now cover every colour, including the new sections.
  • New sections: Inspect, Hotbar, HUD.
  • The boss bar preview uses the game's own bar material, so it keeps its texture instead of looking flat, and the layout matches the real bar.
  • Text no longer spills out of the hex and preset name boxes. The game's hover animation was scaling the field while it was selected.
  • The options screen reopens on Colours if that is where you left it.
