White Girl Starterpack (w/Spice)
A boombox music pack for Lethal Company, designed for use with Spantle's Custom Boombox Music Opus — all tracks are .opus, encoded at 192k / 48 kHz.
Replaces the default boombox tracks with some pop hits, Disney, Y2K throwbacks, anime, and a few extras for spice. ~hehehe
Requirements
- BepInExPack
- Custom Boombox Music Opus (2.0.0) — the Opus-supporting fork by Spantle
Both are listed as dependencies and will be installed automatically by a mod manager.
Installation
With a mod manager (recommended): Install via r2modman / Thunderstore Mod Manager / Gale. Dependencies are pulled in automatically.
Manual: Drop the BepInEx/ folder from this package into your Lethal Company install directory so that the audio files land in:
<Lethal Company>/BepInEx/plugins/WhiteGirlStarterpack_w_Spice/Custom Songs/
Spantle's Opus mod scans BepInEx/plugins/*/Custom Songs/ so the songs are loaded from this package's own plugin folder — no shared/global folder collisions with other music packs.
Why Opus
- Opus is much smaller than wav, saving somewhere around 90% of space compared to wav (which version 1 originally used)
- other compressed alternatives are more lossy and have some problems in unity
Notes
- The boombox plays a random track from the folder each time you turn it on.
- Track names appear in the in-game "Now Playing" popup, so renaming files changes up that display.
- all songs were downloaded directly from youtube via yt-dlp
- some base tracks were taken from the WhiteGirlMusicT mod (ty to asdasdassdad)
CHANGELOG
Changelog
3.0.1
- shortened the filenames of the songs as this caused problems with long filepaths
3.0.0
- Reverted the dependency back to LTGVE's CustomBoomboxMusic
- Ditched
.opus— Spantle's opus decoder collapsed the stereo image and introduced warbling artifacts. The songs sounded mono and muddy through the boombox - A/B tested in 2.0.0:
.wav,.mp3, and.oggall sounded clean and comparable through the boombox. Only.opushad the issue - Migrated all songs to
.oggfor the most compact format that still sounds good
2.0.0
- Switched to Spantle's Custom Boombox Music Opus (replaces LTGVE's CustomBoomboxMusic as the dependancy)
- Re-encoded all tracks from
.wavto.opus(192k, 48 kHz) — mod size dropped ~90% - Moved songs to
BepInEx/plugins/WhiteGirlStarterpack_w_Spice/Custom Songs/to match Spantle'splugins/*/Custom Songsfolder search path - Renamed tracks to
Artist - Songformat for more consistent labeling
1.0.0
- Initial release
.wavtracks for the Lethal Company boombox via LTGVE's CustomBoomboxMusic- base tracks sourced from the WhiteGirlMusicT mod
