LCGoldScrap Lite
An experimental fork of Simon Tendo's LCGoldScrapMod 2.2.7, focused on finding valuable gold scrap and using three shop tools. It retains 50 natural gold scrap types with their existing interactions.
Package version: 1.0.2. Internal plugin version: 2.2.7.3. Target game version: Lethal Company v81; this update still requires in-game and real multiplayer verification.
Retained tools
| Tool | Default base price | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Golden Hourglass | 133 | Slows the day's passage of time using the original tool behavior. |
| Golden Ticket | 50 | Preserves carried items during teleportation, retaining the original normal/inverse teleporter and ticket-consumption rules. |
| Golden Glove | 800 | Retains its three combat and remote-item-handling abilities. |
Enter gold store in the terminal to view the tools, an item's English name to buy it, or its name followed by info for details. gold scrap displays a short overview.
Disabled content
The other 17 store entries are unavailable for purchase:
| Group | Entries |
|---|---|
| Suits, furniture, and interactive objects | Bronze Suit, Silver Suit, Gold Suit, Golden Throne, Gold Trophy, Gold Medal, Groovy Gold, Gold Toilet, Goldfather Clock |
| Mining items | Golden Pickaxe, Gold Nugget, Gold Ore |
| Other store items | Gold Crown, Credits Card, Directory LOG, Cat o Gold, Safe Box |
This fork also disables Gold Fever and its rewards, Gold Sale, mining-node generation, special-date triggers and password overrides, active story-log generation and related independent XML persistence, random player tags, optional joke-sound replacements, selectable prototype models, and the optional extra Gold Crate integration.
Vanilla sounds and models are preferred where available, with necessary fallbacks retained. The useful or dangerous interactions of the 50 natural scrap types remain.
The original goldscrapassetbundle is reused. Disabled content still exists in that bundle, and legacy registration identities are retained. This fork does not reduce the asset bundle's size or automatically remove old items from saves. Retaining identities is not a guarantee of safe migration from an original-mod save.
Configuration
Edit BepInEx/config/GoldScrapLite.cfg, or use LethalConfig if installed. Restart the game after changes. There are 115 active settings: 11 original global settings, 1 compatibility setting, 3 tool prices, and 2 settings for each of the 50 natural scrap types.
CONFIG_EXAMPLE.cfg in the download is a reference copy of the defaults, not the active configuration file.
When the new file does not exist, an existing BepInEx/config/LCGoldScrapMod.cfg is copied to GoldScrapLite.cfg to migrate your settings. An existing GoldScrapLite.cfg is never overwritten by this migration, and the old file is not deleted. After migration, edit GoldScrapLite.cfg; subsequent changes to the old file are not synchronized. The plugin GUID remains LCGoldScrapMod despite the new configuration filename.
Tool prices
Each tool has BasePrice in its own section: Shop - GoldenHourglass, Shop - GoldenTicket, or Shop - GoldenGlove.
- Defaults are 133, 50, and 800 credits respectively.
- 0 means free. Prices cannot be negative.
- Final price = individual
BasePrice× globalMultiplier Price, converted to whole credits. Setting the global multiplier to 0 makes all three tools free. - The host sends the final prices to clients. Clients do not apply the multiplier a second time.
IndustrialGoldSafe compatibility
Compatibility / Disable Natural Spawns With IndustrialGoldSafe defaults to true.
- When IndustrialGoldSafe is also loaded, gold scrap does not spawn naturally on vanilla or modded moons. Safe rewards, shop tools and existing items remain available.
- Set this option to false to allow both safe rewards and natural gold scrap. Existing moon selection and per-item spawn settings still apply.
- Without IndustrialGoldSafe, this option has no effect on natural spawning. IndustrialGoldSafe is not a required dependency.
- The host controls this behavior. The loaded plugin GUID is checked at generation time; the mods' dependency order is unchanged.
During natural scrap generation, gold entries are temporarily excluded from the level pool, including the game's special single-item and boosted-item selection paths. The original pool and boosted-item index are restored afterward, including when generation throws. Gold item registrations and the safe reward pool are not removed.
Individual scrap spawning
Each natural scrap type has a Scrap - <folderName> section, using its stable asset folder name:
| Setting | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
Enabled |
true |
Allows this item to spawn naturally. |
SpawnWeightMultiplier |
1 |
Multiplies this item's spawn weight; allowed range: 0–100. |
These are relative weights, not spawn percentages or guaranteed item counts. A multiplier of 1 retains the existing weight; 2 doubles it. Actual appearance depends on other items in the pool, the game's selection process, and integer weight calculations.
Setting Enabled = false or SpawnWeightMultiplier = 0 prevents natural spawning. It does not delete existing items. Positive multipliers still respect global spawn settings and moon restrictions.
The original global controls remain: vanilla moon selection, minimum/maximum value multipliers, spawn-weight and carry-weight settings, the shared tool-price multiplier, modded-moon spawn settings and travel-cost threshold, terminal scan behavior, and the original tool-balance option. Their defaults are unchanged; all new item switches start enabled with a multiplier of 1.
Multiplayer and installation
- Every player needs the same Lite fork version and asset bundle. Do not install this fork alongside the original LCGoldScrapMod or mix the two in one lobby. They share the plugin GUID
LCGoldScrapModand original assembly identity. - The host controls natural spawning and effective tool prices. Client-side configuration values do not override the host; the client's local settings screen is not a display of the lobby's effective configuration.
- Joining clients cannot purchase these tools until host settings and final prices have been applied.
- When using a local ZIP, each player must import it separately. r2modman profile codes do not embed a locally imported mod's DLL or asset bundle. A published Thunderstore package can instead be downloaded through its package listing.
Verification status
The 1.0.2 update is checked with real BepInEx configuration binding, linked production spawn logic, Unity Netcode post-processing and assembly metadata checks. Fixtures cover the default-on compatibility option, missing Safe plugin, opt-out behavior, vanilla and modded pools, host-only filtering, boosted-item index remapping, and cleanup after generation failures. Separate fixtures cover store availability and host-price application.
These checks exercise selected production logic and real BepInEx configuration binding; the game-facing fixtures use stand-ins. They do not prove game startup, asset loading, actual RPC delivery, save migration, compatibility with other mods, or successful multiplayer play. Those runtime tests remain pending.

CHANGELOG
LCGoldScrap Lite Changelog
1.0.3 - Store cleanup repair
- Stop adding retired item offers to the terminal purchase catalog. Keep only Golden Ticket, Golden Hourglass and Golden Glove.
- Retain the twelve legacy ship-unlockable identities for existing objects, but remove their shop selection nodes and always-in-stock flags.
- Remove retired terminal keywords and reject retired purchase nodes by asset identity, including cached confirmation nodes. Shop cleanup no longer depends on English display names or formatted text filtering.
- Preserve global item registrations, resource bundles, configured prices, values, weights and spawn settings. Purchase-menu indices may change; every player must update together.
- Internal plugin version is 2.2.7.4.
- Verify the actual native terminal and loaded assets inside v81, then inspect both real ship terminals in two localhost LAN processes running an isolated copy of the development modpack. Both show only the three retained tools and no retired furniture offers or reachable retired purchase nodes.
- Verify IndustrialGoldSafe reward object IDs and initial values match on both peers. Actual shop purchases, delivery, cross-computer Steam play, larger groups, reconnects, late joins and save migration remain outside this test's scope.
1.0.2 — Optional IndustrialGoldSafe-only gold spawning
- Added
Compatibility / Disable Natural Spawns With IndustrialGoldSafe, enabled by default and exposed through optional LethalConfig integration. - With IndustrialGoldSafe loaded, the host excludes gold scrap from natural generation on vanilla and modded moons. Set the option to false to allow both safe rewards and natural gold scrap; without Safe, normal spawn settings are unchanged.
- Checks the loaded Safe GUID at generation time without adding a circular dependency or relying on the lifetime of the BepInEx bootstrap object.
- Temporarily filters natural generation candidates rather than relying only on zero weights, covering single-item days and boosted-item selection. Restores the original level pool and boosted-item index after success or failure.
- Preserves all item registrations, safe rewards, existing items, individual spawn settings, values and tool prices.
- Updated the internal plugin version to 2.2.7.3. No RPC identities or asset-bundle contents changed.
- Configuration and generation-policy checks are offline evidence; in-game and real multiplayer verification of this update remain pending.
1.0.1 — Configuration filename and documentation update
- Changed the active configuration file to
BepInEx/config/GoldScrapLite.cfg. - Added an initial settings migration: when
GoldScrapLite.cfgdoes not exist, copy an existingLCGoldScrapMod.cfgto the new filename. Never overwrite an existing new file or delete the old file. Later edits to the old file are not synchronized. - Updated the internal plugin version to 2.2.7.2 while retaining the plugin GUID
LCGoldScrapMod. - Replaced the public README and changelog with English documentation. The local Chinese guide remains available in the source checkout.
- Added explicit credit to Simon van Luxemburg (Simon Tendo), with direct links to the original Thunderstore package, GitHub repository, fixed upstream commit, and MIT license.
- Retained the disclosure that OpenAI Codex assisted with this fork's implementation and documentation. Original upstream assets are reused; this fork does not redraw or regenerate them with AI.
- Clarified configuration, host authority, installation requirements, and the distinction between offline verification and actual game testing.
- Built with zero errors and warnings, including Unity Netcode post-processing and assembly metadata checks. Passed 143 real-BepInEx configuration assertions, including the new filename and first-run migration. In-game and real multiplayer testing remain pending.
1.0.0 — Initial experimental fork
Content
- Retained all 50 natural gold scrap types and their individual interactions.
- Kept three shop tools: Golden Hourglass, Golden Ticket, and Golden Glove. Disabled purchase access to the other 17 store entries.
- Simplified the terminal shop and help pages.
- Disabled Gold Fever, Gold Sale, mining nodes, active story-log generation, related independent XML persistence, special-date triggers, and date-password overrides.
- Disabled random player tags, optional joke-sound replacements, selectable prototype models, and the optional extra Gold Crate integration.
- Preferred vanilla sounds and models where available, while retaining necessary fallback assets.
Configuration
- Added individual tool base prices: 133 / 50 / 800 credits for Hourglass / Ticket / Glove. A base price of 0 makes that tool free.
- Applied the existing global price multiplier to the individual prices. The host distributes final integer prices to clients.
- Blocked tool purchases for joining clients until the base host settings and final tool prices have both been applied.
- Added
EnabledandSpawnWeightMultiplierfor each of the 50 natural scrap types, grouped by stable asset folder name. - Defaulted all scrap switches to enabled and all individual multipliers to 1. The multiplier range is 0–100; disabling the switch or setting 0 prevents natural spawning.
- Clarified that spawn weights are relative weights, not fixed percentages. Existing global settings and moon restrictions still apply.
- Retained 11 global settings for 114 active configuration entries in total. All entries are exposed through optional LethalConfig integration and require a game restart after changes.
Compatibility and verification
- Kept plugin GUID
LCGoldScrapMod, assembly identity, original types, and legacy registration order. The original asset bundle is reused; this is not an asset-size reduction. - Required every player to use the same Lite fork version and asset bundle. The original mod must not be installed alongside this fork or mixed into the same lobby.
- Built against Lethal Company v81 with zero build errors and warnings, including Unity Netcode post-processing and assembly metadata checks.
- Passed 287 offline assertions: 107 store-policy, 127 configuration, and 53 rarity/price checks. These checks cover selected logic and binding behavior, not real Unity execution or network delivery.
- In-game and real multiplayer testing remain pending. Build success and offline assertions do not establish runtime compatibility or save-migration safety.
