MineCompany
Play Minecraft inside Lethal Company. The co-op loop stays the same (moons, scrap, quota, the ship), with Minecraft blocks, tools and crafting added:
- Trees outside. Minecraft oak trees grow on the moons, most on grass moons and fewer on barren ones. The moon's own ground stays as it is. Chop trees for logs.
- Ore chunks inside. Some facility rooms have a chunk of stone with coal, iron, gold or diamond ore in it. Mining an ore drops coal, raw iron, raw gold or a diamond, which you can sell.
- Loot chests. Now and then a Minecraft chest stands in a room. Break it to spill sticks, coal, raw ore, the odd ingot and, rarely, a diamond.
- Blocked doorways. A few open doorways are walled off with planks or dirt. Any tool breaks them, and so do bare hands, so nobody gets stuck. Monsters path around a wall until it is open.
- Worn pickaxes. Old wooden and stone pickaxes turn up as scrap. They mine like new ones and sell for a little.
- Tools. Wooden, stone, iron and diamond pickaxes and swords swing like LC's shovel. Better pickaxes mine faster and can break harder ores, and better swords hit harder. Swords, LC's shovel and bare fists break soft blocks (planks, dirt, logs, leaves, chests).
- Building. Mined blocks go into your block stock. Press V to place the selected block on any surface (ground, walls, the ship's floor); it snaps to a grid. Press X to switch blocks.
- Torches. Craft 4 from a stick and a coal. Place them on floors and walls to light the dark facility.
- Crafting table. Every ship gets one for free, by the back wall to start with. Press B on it to move, rotate or store it like the other furniture. Look at it and press E. Blocks come from your stock, and items (sticks, coal, ingots, diamonds) are taken from the floor next to the table. Recipes: planks, sticks, torches, and every pickaxe and sword.
- Furnace. Buy it at the terminal (ship upgrades, 60 credits). Drop raw iron or raw gold next to it with some coal and press E. Ingots sell for more than the ore and coal they were made from. You can move the furnace with B too.
- Creepers. They roam the facility like LC's own monsters. While nobody is looking and it is more than about 10 m away, a creeper is silent and very fast. Up close it slows to Minecraft creeper speed, hisses and blows up like a landmine, breaking nearby blocks. Four hits with a shovel, sword or pickaxe kill it first.
- Multiplayer. The host decides what happens and every player sees the same trees, ore chunks, chests, doorways and blocks. Everyone in the lobby needs the mod, and the same config.
Minecraft art: bring your own
MineCompany ships no Mojang files. When the game starts, it reads the block, item and creeper textures and the creeper sounds from your own Minecraft: Java Edition install, using the newest release under %APPDATA%\.minecraft\versions. If you don't have Minecraft installed, the mod paints its own look-alike textures instead, and everything still works. Players in the same lobby can mix both.
Config (BepInEx/config/woode.MineCompany.cfg):
MinecraftFolder: point it at a different.minecraftfolder.ForceFallbackArt: use the built-in art even if Minecraft is installed.BlockSize: 1.25 m by default, so a player is two blocks tall.TreeDensityandTreeRadius: how many trees grow, and how far from the ship.OreRoomChance,ChestRoomChance,DoorBlockChance: how often rooms get ore chunks or chests, and how often doorways are blocked.PickaxeScrapRarity: how often worn pickaxes turn up (0 = never).MaxTorchLightsandBrightness(torches).FurnacePriceandSmeltsPerCoal.CreeperRarity(0 = no creepers),CreeperHealth,CreeperRushSpeed,CreeperBlastKillRange.PlaceBlockandSwitchBlockkeys.
The world settings (BlockSize, trees, ore, chests, doorways) must match for everyone in a lobby.
Notes
- Blocks you build in the ship stay until you quit the game; they are not saved with the save file. Blocks built on a moon go when the ship leaves.
- Not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft or Zeekerss. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.
- Built with AI. This mod was written with Anthropic's Claude (Claude Code), directed and tested by the author.
CHANGELOG
0.9.1
- Wither skeleton skulls can be placed now. Clicking soul sand with a skull did nothing: the skull was wrongly set up as a shop item (it used the shield's code, so a click raised an invisible shield). It's now proper scrap with its value, and a click on any face of a soul sand block puts the skull on top. Tested with real clicks: three skulls on a T raise the Wither outside and in the soul sand cavern.
- Lava in the fortress no longer has see-through patches: where a pool's edge sits above the ground next to it, its side is drawn now.
0.9.0
- The Wither, the Nether's boss. It never spawns on its own: you summon it, Minecraft's way. Build a T of four soul sand (heaps of it lie out on the wastes and in the fortress's caverns) and put three wither skeleton skulls on top (hold a skull and click the top of a soul sand block). It works outside, and inside only in the fortress's big caverns; anywhere else in the fortress there's no room for it. It grows for 10 seconds, blue and untouchable, then blows up everything around it and attacks everything: players and every other monster in sight, nearest first, its three heads firing exploding wither skulls (now and then a slow blue one that breaks more). Below half health its armour comes up: arrows glance off, and it charges straight through whoever it's after, breaking blocks. A boss bar at the top of the screen shows its health to everyone nearby. Kill it for a Nether star, worth a fortune. Inside, it stays in its cavern. Config: a new
[Wither]section (Health,SkullDamage,DashDamage,SkullDropChance,SkullScrapRarity,WitherSeconds,WitherDamagePerSecond). - Wither skeletons in the Nether's fortress: tall, black, with stone swords, and blind. They hunt by sound like LC's eyeless dogs. Sprinting, talking, dropping things and mining bring them; stand still or crouch-walk and they pass you by. They rattle when they've heard something, and lose you once you go quiet. A hit withers you: damage every second for a few seconds and the edges of your view going black. Kill one for its skull (they also turn up as fortress scrap now and then). Config under
[Nether mobs]:WitherSkeletonRarity,WitherSkeletonHealth,WitherSkeletonDamage. - Big slimes, inside on every moon. A big cube of green jelly that hops about, and hops at you at an ordinary pace if it sees you. If it lands on you it swallows you, and you're stuck inside, seeing green, while it bounds off absurdly fast to the far end of the building from the main entrance and spits you out there. Anyone hitting it makes it let go at once, so a teammate can free you. Config: a new
[Slime]section (Rarity,Health,CarryTime). - Mining a block with a skull on it knocks the skull off.
0.8.0
- The Enderman, on every moon (the Nether and other mods' moons too), in the facility and outside after dusk. A tall black figure with glowing purple eyes that wanders and leaves you alone, as long as you don't look it in the face. Look at its legs or body all you like; meet its eyes and it shakes, screams and comes for you fast (30 damage), teleporting up close whenever you get away or out of sight. It calms down after 30 seconds without catching you. Arrows never hit it: it teleports out of their way, so fight it up close. While calm it picks up scrap lying around and carries it off to drop somewhere else. Config: a new
[Enderman]section (Rarity,OutsideRarity,NetherRarity,Health,Damage,StealsScrap). - The Nether's mobs each have a rule to learn now:
- Blazes hunt light. With your flashlight or helmet light on, a blaze sees you from 35 m; in the dark, only from 8 m, so it drifts past. The fortress's glowstone lamps flicker and go out as a blaze comes near, and you can hear its breathing through the walls. Its fireballs leave fire burning on the floor for a few seconds.
- Magma cubes lie in ambush. A big one in the fortress creeps off to a wall and sits there looking just like a magma block. Walk up to it, or hit it, and it bursts out at you. The pieces it splits into swarm whoever is nearest, faster than before, and you hear them hopping from further away.
- Piglins hate gold. Carry gold nuggets, raw gold or gold ingots (in hand or in your pockets) where a piglin can see you within 12 m, and it snorts a warning. Drop the gold within a second and it calms down; keep it and the whole group charges.
- Each rule can be turned off under
[Nether mobs]:BlazeHuntsLight,BlazeFirePatches,MagmaCubeAmbush,PiglinGoldAggro.
- Fixed: most of the fortress's glowstone lamps stayed dark after the level loaded. They light up properly now.
0.7.0
- The config file is now
BepInEx/config/wipeyabum.MineCompany.cfg, so settings start from the defaults once. Copy your changes over from the old.cfgif you had any. - The Nether's inside is a brand-new nether fortress, built from blocks instead of LC's Facility re-skinned:
- Dark nether-brick corridors, crossings, junctions, corners and tall stairwells, lit only by pools of glowstone light. The breaker box turns the glowstone off and on, and pulling the apparatus puts it out for good.
- A nether-brick bridge across a hall over a lava pool (the lava burns).
- Rooms behind crimson doors: a pillared hall, a nether wart garden, a blaze spawner's room, small storerooms, and the apparatus on a blackstone altar between glowstone pillars.
- Big open caverns in the nether biomes, lit only by what grows or burns there: a crimson forest (huge crimson fungi, shroomlights, weeping vines), a warped forest (warped fungi, twisting vines), a soul sand valley (bone fossils, soul fire) and the basalt deltas (basalt columns, magma, lava pools).
- You arrive through a nether portal. The fire exit is a crimson door under a glowstone lantern. LC's turrets, mines, spike traps, vents, scrap and locked doors are all there, as are MineCompany's ore chunks and walled-up doorways.
- Config:
[Nether] FortressInterior(on by default). Off brings back the re-skinned Facility.
- On the Nether you now walk on the blocks you see, inside and out, stepping up one block at a time like Minecraft, instead of sliding over a smooth slope that didn't match them. Stepping up a block (anywhere, on placed blocks too) eases your view up instead of snapping it.
- Fire and soul fire burn in their own Minecraft colours, animated and shaped like Minecraft's flames, instead of glowing flat white.
- Minecraft items in the terminal store:
- Ender pearl (10 credits): throw it, and you're wherever it lands (5 damage).
- Totem of Undying (250): keep it anywhere in your inventory. The next time you would die it's used up instead, and you carry on with 30 health. It can't save you once the ship has left without you.
- TNT (50): place it where you look, and it lights. Four seconds later it blows up like a creeper, breaking nearby blocks. It hurts you too.
- Bow (120): hold to draw, let go to shoot. A full draw flies further and hits harder (like a shovel at a weak draw, up to three shovel hits at full). It comes with 20 arrows, shown as its charge; the ship's charger restrings it. Arrows hurt other players a little.
- Shield (90): hold to raise. It stops arrows, blaze fireballs and blows from in front, and halves a blast's damage, but you walk at half speed behind it.
- Fixed: rejoining a game (or joining one) put MineCompany's pickaxes, swords, ingots and other items off to the side outside the ship instead of where they were left in it. Items dropped, thrown or placed in the ship are also properly part of it now for everyone, so they travel with it.
- Blocks and torches you build in the ship are now saved with the game and come back when you load it (getting fired clears them, along with everything else). Players who join in orbit see them straight away.
- Zombified piglins hold their golden swords properly now, gripped in the fist with the blade out (it used to point back up their arm).
- Config: a new
[Shop]section with each item's price.
0.6.1
- Fixed: the see-through parts of textures showed black: the gaps in crimson roots and fungi, weeping vines and the crimson doors' windows, and between a skeleton's ribs and bones. They're see-through now, as in Minecraft.
- Fixed: lava, glowstone, shroomlights and the other glowing things on the Nether glared white in the dark. They now glow in their own colours.
- Fewer lights in the crimson forest (only the big fungi light the ground; the shroomlights glow by themselves), which stops lights flickering in and out there.
- Config:
[Nether] LavaGlowis replaced byGlowStrength(0-1, default 0.75).
0.6.0
- New moon: the Nether (route
nether, 450 credits, risk B). A wide basin of netherrack hills and ridged mountains over a lava sea under a red haze: a crimson forest of huge crimson fungi (shroomlights, weeping vines), soul sand and basalt with basalt pillars, netherrack arches, glowstone spires and lava streams pouring down the rim. A nether-brick bridge runs from the landing to the fortress gate's portal. Lava burns badly, so watch your step. - The fire exit is a nether-brick watchtower with a glowstone beacon, at the end of a land route from the ship: its crimson door is a second way in and out of the facility.
- The facility inside is a nether fortress: nether-brick walls, red nether-brick floors, blackstone and warm light, and every door is a Minecraft crimson door. The entrance room is all nether: LC's fan, pipes and cords are gone and its lamp is glowstone.
- Nether blocks to mine: netherrack, nether bricks, glowstone, soul sand, magma blocks, and nether quartz and nether gold ore. Quartz, gold nuggets and glowstone dust sell like the other ore drops. Walled-off doorways on the Nether are netherrack and soul sand.
- Every enemy can turn up on the Nether (LC's, the overworld Minecraft mobs, other mods'), but most of what spawns there is one of the four nether mobs, which live only on the Nether:
- Zombified piglins come in groups of 3-5 and leave you alone until someone hits one; then the whole group comes for you with golden swords.
- Ghasts float high over the lava and shoot fireballs that explode where they land. Hit a fireball with a shovel, sword or pickaxe to knock it back; one back in its face kills a ghast.
- Magma cubes hop at you and split when killed, big into 2-3 medium, medium into 2-3 small. The pieces don't count towards the enemy cap.
- Blazes hover at a distance in the fortress and fire bursts of three small fireballs, 10 damage each.
- Herobrine never shows up outside on the Nether (it's never dark enough), and skeletons don't burn there (no sun).
- Fixed: an infected player standing just outside the ship could keep infecting a crewmate inside it, hatching two silverfish every time. Infection no longer spreads to anyone at the ship.
- Needs LethalLevelLoader (installed with the mod).
- Config: a new
[Nether]section (RoutePrice,LavaDamage, fog and glow) and a[Nether mobs]section with the rarity, health and damage of each nether mob, andOtherEnemyShare(how much of the Nether's spawns are other enemies, 0.3 by default).
0.5.0
- New mob: the skeleton. An archer that keeps its distance, sidesteps, and shoots an arrow about every 2 s. Keep moving and you can dodge them. Rush it and it backs off. It spawns in the facility, and outside at night; out in daylight it burns.
- Feuds: if a skeleton's arrow hits another enemy, that enemy and the skeleton turn on each other. Zombies, silverfish and creepers fight back until one of them is dead. LC enemies that already fight other creatures (Old Birds, baboon hawks, eyeless dogs, giants, kiwis) treat skeletons as fair game.
- Config:
SkeletonRarity,SkeletonOutsideRarity,SkeletonHealth,SkeletonDamage.
0.4.0
- New mob: the zombie. Zombies roam the facility in groups of 2-6, a room or two apart. Hit one, or get too close, and it and every zombie nearby come for you. A zombie that has locked on never gives up: it follows you at a walking pace however far you run, out through the entrance and back in, until you're dead.
- Silverfish now come in groups of 2-4.
- Groups count as one enemy towards the round's enemy cap: only the first of a group counts. The silverfish that hatch from infected players don't count either.
- Config:
ZombieRarity,ZombieHealth,ZombieDamage.
0.3.1
- Fixed: players who joined a lobby saw the crafting table (and a furnace) outside the ship.
- Fixed: moving the crafting table or furnace with [B] showed red everywhere, so they could never be placed.
- The silverfish whose bite infects you now burrows into you and is gone.
0.3.0
- New mob: Herobrine. He stands in the dark, and staring at him fills your screen with static. Look away and he moves; stare for 2 s and your view locks on him for 5 s. After that he hunts you from the sky whenever you are outside.
- New mob: the silverfish. Its bites are small, but two of them infect you, silently. Infection spreads to players who get close, and at the ship two silverfish hatch out of an infected player.
- Config:
HerobrineRarity,HerobrineDamage,HerobrineDarkFrom,SilverfishRarity,SilverfishDamage.
0.2.0
- The moons' ground is no longer replaced with blocks (it clipped with the map). The moon stays vanilla, and Minecraft oak trees grow on it instead.
- Inside the facility: ore chunks in some rooms, rare loot chests, and the odd doorway walled off with planks or dirt (break it with any tool or your fists).
- New: worn wooden and stone pickaxes as facility scrap.
- New mob: the creeper. Silent and very fast while unseen, Minecraft speed up close, then it hisses and explodes like a landmine.
- New: torches (crafted from a stick and a coal) that light up where you put them.
- Building works on any surface (ground, facility, ship floor) and snaps to a grid. Swords and bare hands break soft blocks.
- Includes 0.1.1 (never uploaded): the crafting table is ship furniture you can move with [B], and the furnace placement fix.
- Config:
BlockRadius/BlockMaxRadiusare gone; newTreeDensity,TreeRadius,OreRoomChance,ChestRoomChance,DoorBlockChance,PickaxeScrapRarity,MaxTorchLights,Brightness,CreeperRarity,CreeperHealth,CreeperRushSpeed,CreeperBlastKillRange.
0.1.1
- The crafting table is now ship furniture: press [B] on it to move it, rotate it or put it in storage, like LC's own furniture. It still comes free with every save.
- Fixed: placing the furnace in build mode threw an error (missing placement sound source).
0.1.0
- First release: block terrain on outdoor moons, mining and building, pickaxes and swords, ore/stick/ingot scrap, crafting table, furnace.
