Mimesis Player Enhancement is a mod for Mimesis that consolidates and extends a lot of tweaks into one maintained package. Hosts can raise the player limits, expand mimic voice recording and persistence (across game sessions), allow players to join at any time, scale spawns/loot/money to match their needs, randomize dungeons, tune player and mimic behavior, control weather, and track session statistics — all from one config file. Clients do not need the mod; only the host does. It also replaces the save-game UI with a scrollable picker (up to 99 manual slots) and always shows the installed mod version in the main and in-game menus.

Additionally, there is also a webinterface listening on http://127.0.0.1:8001 per default after the game has been started. It allows you to manage bigger lobbies (kick, ban, respawn) as well as change settings per savegame or globally.

Features

Most features only need to be installed on the host — friends can join without the mod.

More Players

The base game limits sessions to four players. This feature raises that cap so larger groups can play together — for example, up to 32 people in one lobby. Only the host needs the mod; everyone else joins as usual.

More Voices

Mimics copy things players say and replay them later. The base game only keeps a small number of these voice lines in memory. This feature stores many more recordings so mimics can build a richer library of player voices over a long session.

Persistence

Without persistence, mimic voice recordings are lost when you quit or load a different save. This feature writes those recordings to disk when you save the game and brings them back the next time you load that save — so your mimics remember voices across play sessions.

Join Anytime

Normally, friends have to be in the lobby before a run starts. Join Anytime lets people connect after you've already begun. They can join whenever you're not inside a dungeon, then play the next run with the group.

User Interface

Local presentation options: replace the vanilla New/Load Tram flow with a scrollable save picker (up to 99 manual slots), optionally expand the spectator death list beyond four players, and set how long mod toast messages stay on screen. The mod version is always shown in the main and in-game menu version text.

Statistics

Keeps track of how each player is doing over time: deaths, kills, mimic voice events, play time, and more. Stats are stored per save game and can be viewed on leaderboards. Useful for friendly competition or just seeing who survived the longest.

Web Dashboard

While the game is running, open a page in your web browser to see who is connected, watch player positions on a live minimap during dungeon runs, browse leaderboards, and use moderation tools like kick or ban. You can also change mod settings from the browser instead of editing the config file by hand.

Player Announcements

Shows small on-screen messages to keep everyone informed: a summary of dungeon settings when a shift starts, an alert when a boss spawns, and a recap of your personal stats when you die. These are extra hints on top of the game's own messages.

Spawn Scaling

Lets you control how busy dungeons feel by changing how many enemies and traps appear. You can set a fixed multiplier for the whole run, scale up automatically when more players are in the session, or mix both. Handy for making large groups feel appropriately challenging.

Loot Multiplicator

Adjusts how much loot you find on the map and what enemies drop when defeated. You can increase or decrease quantities, scale with player count, and optionally limit which item types are affected. Can also turn some mimic decoy drops into real pickup loot.

Economy

Changes money-related values for your run: starting cash, the quota you need to hit each round, how much scrapped items are worth, and prices in the maintenance shop. Like other scaling features, amounts can grow automatically when more players join. Optionally keep unspent maintenance currency when departing for the next dungeon instead of losing it.

Dungeon Time

Adds extra time to each dungeon shift when you have more players than a baseline count. For example, with the default settings, every player above four adds ten seconds to the clock. Gives bigger groups a fairer window to finish a run.

Mimic Tuning

Tune mimic behavior on the host: how often mimics replay archived player voices, which player inventory they copy for decoy loadouts, and — when you are dead — how long each E possession through a mimic lasts and how long you wait before the next one. Voice and inventory subfeatures use Vanilla or Custom modes; possession timing has its own sub-toggle.

Player Tuning

Tweak how players move and survive: walk/run speed, stamina pool, sprint drain, stamina recovery, and carry weight. Changes apply to everyone in the session from the host side, so joining players pick up the tuned stats automatically.

Dungeon Randomizer

Shakes up repeat runs by randomizing which dungeon the tram picks, the layout inside that dungeon, which map variant loads, and the procedural seed that shapes rooms. Turn on only the layers you want if you prefer partial randomization over full chaos.

Weather

Control dungeon weather presets (fixed, cycling, or vanilla), optionally strip random weather rolls, and set the synced in-game start hour for outdoor lighting. Changes apply live during an active dungeon run.

CHANGELOG

Hint: this mod is still in Alpha - use at your own risk! These updates can break things that worked before. Still needs extensive testing. In case of any errors please create an issue: https://github.com/Kandru/mimesis-player-enhancements/issues

26.7.21

  • fix: allow kick/ban yet again (v0.3.1 changed stuff so it did not work anymore)
  • draft: add custom disco ball song possibilities (no custom songs yet)

26.7.20

  • feature: better inventory-handling (when adding/removing items)
  • improvement: waiting screens now properly show the players we are waiting for complete their game load cycle
  • fix: traps should respawn properly again / distinguish better between naming of settings
  • fix: dungeon loot filter/scaling timing (allowlist/denylist had no effect on spawned loot, only on mimics loot)
  • fix: inventory net-worth label now aligns to the top edge of inventory instead of stacking directly above the kg readout (waits for inventory chrome layout before showing)
  • fix: settings page does not show a section as changed when only the feature toggle differs, "reset all" does not disable the feature anymore
  • draft: expose new Mimic tuning options since game version 0.3.1
  • draft: DungeonTime to "slow down" or "speed up" the clock in order to simply stop at 12pm (currently more time would mean game would count up to 1am or longer depending on the amount of players and chosen settings)
  • draft: host sends configuration to modded clients (for feature-parity during party)

26.7.19

Fast update for Mimesis v0.3.1 - literally untested!!! In case of any errors please report them via Github :)

26.7.8

Attention: the Wiki / Help pages are yet to be improved! There is so much going on right now that things take time. Anyway, time to finally announce v26.7.8 for the broader public. Added a lot of new stuff (and hopefully fixed old stuff). Still: there will be major bugs / things breaking that did work before. This will gradually be sorted out in the coming days. Feel free to create an Issue whenever you find some bugs. Thanks for testing and have fun playing Mimesis :)

  • switched the web-dashboard to Svelte for a single-page application (looks and feels way better)
  • when the game gets updates this mod will be disabled automatically to avoid incompatibilities or bugs/crashes until the user updates it (when any update is available)
  • the dead player UI sort the players by alphabet (but living people first)
  • new feature to disable player collisions (each player needs the mod for it to work)
  • custom menu structure to fix new features inside the main menu or esc menu
  • show health bars above players/mimics/monsters when they got hit and also show a floating damage indicator (each player needs the mod for it to work)
  • optimized the translations into one global file, and translate everything (instead of multiple)
  • webinterface now shows changelog whenever the mod version changes to inform users
  • fix: godmode/noclip being auto-disabled by dashboard snapshots and multi-tab blind-mode desync
  • fix: late-joiners not always joining the moving tram
  • fix: show "In dungeon" without room name in player list
  • fix: properly show information that should not be hidden by the blind-mode
  • fix: deathmatch winner is excluded from loot multiplier (only give one item when a player has won)
  • fix: webinterface wrongly showed "loading tram scene" but where properly spawned already
  • draft: allow to properly record voice lines during maintenance, during the tram scene and when possessing a mimic (there seems to be a bug which stops recording a possesed mimic after the first time lol)
  • draft: possible fix for small lags when a lot of voices have been recorded (proper caching)
  • draft: unlimited zones and money increases (with flatter curve when having a high zone)
  • draft: maybe fix to allow clients with the mod installed to use noclip (unfortunately no host-only feature)
  • draft: possibility to unify ingame voices (no more difference between indoor/outdoor voices so chatter without area-specific sounds are played everywhere)
  • draft: improve ESC menu player list (show more players and add scroll bar)
  • draft: FPS-style (inspired by Counter-Strike) health/toxicity level display
  • draft: show net-worth of the items a player is carrying
  • draft: first idea of a built-in wiki (for both via Github and via the webinterface)

26.7.7

  • improved the loot allow/deny list to be searchable
  • properly scale the max scrap value in case of high-value loot due to allow/deny list
  • allow the host to delete (offline) users from a savegame
  • only add fully connected players to the savegame

  • removed a testing-value for RouteRetryInterval and set it to a fixed value
  • webinterface now uses the browsers language instead of the game language
  • renaming MoneyMultiplier feature to Economy
  • adding the ability to retain unspend currency between maintenance visits

  • draft: added godmode and noclip (still needs proper testing!)
  • draft: add the ability to change the mimic voice behaviour
  • draft: webinterface & features are now refactored properly (still needs tuning and extensive testing!)

  • improved logging
  • improved statistics
  • optimized webinterface for larger player counts (to avoid lags)
  • webinterface now includes a reset button for config options
  • webinterface now automatically toggles the blind-mode
  • webinterface now correctly enforces settings value limits

  • possible fix for late joiner who are not always being transported to the train scene between dungeons.
  • exclude crow shop detox from loot duplication
  • player-count auto scaling (Spawn Scaling, Loot Multiplicator, Economy) now uses a configurable rate per extra player above 4 (default +10% instead of the old +25% / players / 4 curve); set SpawnScalingPlayerCountScaleRate, LootMultiplicatorPlayerCountScaleRate, or EconomyPlayerCountScaleRate to 0.25 to restore the previous curve

26.7.2

  • first working version without major bugs (at least non that I've encountered)
  • better webinterface player UI

Older versions:

  • experimenting with the design of the mod, the features and stuff
