README

Baseq's Enemies

New enemies for Muck. The first is The Bear.

It is a neutral mini-boss, about twice your height. It shows up during the day, and only rarely at night. Leave it alone and it leaves you alone. Hit it and it roars, its eyes turn red, and it comes after you.

  • Charge. It roars and paws the ground. An orange lane marks the straight line. Step out of it.
  • Grab. If the charge's mouth reaches you, you are held. You cannot move or attack. A plate tells you to mash movement keys, and the bar fills as you do. Later days take more. It runs from your friends, faster than it charges, and bites once a second.
  • Leap. It jumps at a red circle on the ground. The landing hurts. The circle is the hurt.
  • Claw. Up close it swipes, then it is slow for a moment. That is the window.
  • Death. A large pile of coins.

The host decides when it spawns and what it does. Every player should install this mod. Someone without it sees an ordinary wolf, is not grabbed, and does not take the bear's damage. It has the Chief's health, including the day, difficulty, and extra-player scaling a night Chief uses.

It stays out of a Wave Run unless the host turns SpawnDuringWaveRun on.

Config

BepInEx/config/evan.muck.baseqsenemies.cfg, section Bear. Defaults: on, day chance 0.35, night chance 0.08, the Chief's health (650 base; day 0 on Normal with one player is 682), claw 18, bite 12, leap 34, 48–72 coins, 6 movement taps to escape on day 0 (plus 2 per day, cap 28).

[Debug] SpawnHotkey lets the host press F10 to spawn one on dry ground nearby.

Credits

The enemies in this mod were designed and made by Gabriel (baseq). Mod code by Evan.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

0.2.0

  • The bear is a Wolf. Chase, wander, and the grab flee use that mob's navmesh agent. Charge, leap, claw, and the grab stay custom.
  • A grab connects when the mouth reaches you, including when you are 5 to 9 m above or below it on a slope. You are still carried, and the mash plate still releases you.
  • Health matches the Chief: base 650, then Muck's day and difficulty multiplier, then the night-boss player scale (one player is the same as a camp Chief).

0.1.0

  • The Bear, a neutral mini-boss. It spawns in the day and rarely at night, and it ignores players until it is hit.
  • Charge with a roar, a paw, and a lane on the ground. A player in the lane is grabbed, bitten, and has to mash movement keys to get free.
  • Leap with a marked landing, and a claw swipe with a long recovery.
  • Death drops a pile of coins.
  • The grab connects at the mouth. While you are held, a plate tells you to mash, and the bear runs off faster.
  • The roar uses the dragon's vanilla roar, slowed, instead of the armour clink.
  • After a grab the bear flees immediately, including when it is the only other body in the game.
