EnemyControl
Turn into the creatures of PEAK and play as them — while your scout disappears from everyone's screen, not just your own.
Find a Magic Gem in the luggage, throw it, and it bursts: you become a random creature for a minute. Or switch the mod to free mode and pick from a menu whenever you like.
What you can become
| Creature | How it plays |
|---|---|
| Scoutmaster | Runs, jumps and climbs walls. Reach out to grab a scout, then throw them off the mountain. |
| Mushroom Zombie | Runs, jumps and climbs. Lunge and bite; the spores do the rest. |
| Zombified Scout | The zombie a fallen scout turns into — same moves. |
| Beetle | Steer it and bonk anyone you get right next to. |
| Scorpion | Same, but poisonous. |
| Frog | Hops rather than walks — that is how PEAK moves it. The tongue plucks a scout right off the wall, up to 40 m away. |
| Bee Swarm | Free flight. The sting is a cloud, not a hit: float over someone and hold the attack key. |
| Condor | The bird that carries scouts off, new to PEAK. It cannot be spawned — the game has no prefab for it — so the nearest one on the map is borrowed instead and comes to you. You do not have to be in its biome: sleeping condors in parts of the mountain you have not reached count too. It goes back to its own circuit when you let go. Hold the attack key over a scout to snatch them, let go to drop them. |
| Gloom Ghost | The thing that hunts you in the Gloom. Flies, and holding the attack key charges it up until it detonates — let go in time and the charge is cancelled. Going off ends the shape. |
| Tornado | Drifts along the ground, stops at cliff walls, and throws players and loose items around inside it. Lasts a minute, then fades out like a real one and drops everything where it flies. |
Creatures that do not exist in the current biome — or a map with no condors on it at all — are greyed out in the menu rather than hidden, so you can see at a glance what the level has to offer.
Two modes
Mode in the config decides how shapes are handed out.
Random (default) — no menu. Opened luggage and the chest at the scout statue sometimes hold a die: a Magic Gem you can pick up, carry and throw. Where it lands it bursts and turns the thrower into a random creature for 60 seconds, counting down in the HUD. The die does not replace the normal loot, it comes on top of it.
Free — press F5, pick a creature from a menu, and stay in it until you drop it.
Controls
While you wear a shape the keys are listed at the bottom left. They follow your own key bindings, not hard-coded ones, and the list changes with the creature.
| WASD | move, steer, hop or fly, depending on the creature |
| Space / Ctrl | jump — or rise and descend as the bee swarm |
| Shift | sprint |
| Primary use | attack: grab, bite, bonk, sting or tongue |
| Secondary use | throw whoever the Scoutmaster is holding |
| F5 | open the menu (free mode only) |
| F6 | drop the shape and return to your body |
| F7 | drop a die at your feet for testing (host only) |
| Mouse wheel | zoom the camera — all the way in and you look out of the creature's eyes |
Zoom all the way in for first person. The shape is then hidden for you alone, so it does not block your view; its shadow stays, and everyone else still sees the creature as normal.
Climbing needs no key. The Scoutmaster and the zombies climb by walking into a wall, exactly the way their own AI does it.
Range matters. Beetle and scorpion only connect right next to someone, the frog's tongue
needs a target in front of it, and the bee sting only affects whoever is inside the cloud.
The HUD says IN RANGE when an attack would actually land, so a miss does not look like a
broken button.
By default you reappear where the creature was standing. Turn ReturnToShapePosition off if
you would rather not let people ride a beetle up the mountain.
Multiplayer
Everyone needs the mod. The creature itself is an ordinary networked object, so people without it would still see the creature — but they would also keep seeing your scout standing inside it, which is the whole point of the mod.
Only the host decides where dice appear. The transformation runs on whoever throws one, so anybody can end up as a creature.
HostOnly restricts free mode to the host. It is enforced by each client's own config, which
is enough for a round with friends and is not meant as cheat protection.
Config
BepInEx/config/com.bananegame.enemycontrol.cfg — mode and dice, keys, rules, creature
tuning and display. Every entry carries an explanation.
The Magic Gem's model and inventory icon ship with the mod; DiceSkinBundle and
DiceIconFile point at them and can be swapped for your own.

For bugs, please attach BepInEx/LogOutput.log from your profile — it makes fixing things a
lot faster. Saying whether you were the host or a client helps just as much: several things
in this mod depend on who owns the creature.

CHANGELOG
Changelog
1.0.1
- A transformation no longer fails when another mod interferes while the creature spawns. Before, the creature appeared frozen for everyone and you stayed a scout.
- When a transformation fails, you now get a message on screen instead of nothing happening. If it breaks off halfway, the creature is removed again and your scout comes back.
1.0.0
First release.
Shapes
- Turn into ten of PEAK's own creatures: Scoutmaster, Mushroom Zombie, Zombified Scout, Beetle, Scorpion, Frog, Bee Swarm, Gloom Ghost, Condor and Tornado.
- Every creature keeps its original behaviour. Nothing is reimplemented - the Scoutmaster grabs with the game's own grab, the beetle's animation and ground handling are untouched, and the frog hops because hopping is the only way PEAK moves it.
- Attacks happen on the attack key, never on their own. The one exception is the tornado - sucking things in is the tornado.
- The camera zooms on the mouse wheel, all the way into first person - the shape is then hidden for you alone, shadow included, while everyone else still sees it.
- The condor is borrowed rather than summoned: it is a level object, not something the game can spawn. The nearest one comes to you and flies its own circuit again afterwards.
- The Gloom Ghost charges on the attack key and detonates - let go in time and the charge is cancelled. Unlike in the game it does not need a scout nearby to go off.
- Scoutmaster and zombies climb by walking into a wall, the way their own AI does.
Invisibility
- While you wear a shape, your scout disappears for everyone: model, name tag, interaction prompt, carried items, lights and collisions. Every client hides the body on its own side, which is why all players need the mod.
- Your body stays immune and is pulled along with the creature - PEAK puts creatures to sleep and removes zombies when no character is nearby, and proximity voice chat hangs off the body.
- Dropping the shape puts you where the creature stood, or back where you started if you
prefer (
ReturnToShapePosition).
Two modes
- Random - a Magic Gem turns up in luggage and in the chest at the scout statue. Throw it, it bursts where it lands, and you become a random creature for a minute.
- Free - a menu on F5 in PEAK's own font, usable with mouse or keyboard. Creatures the current biome does not have are greyed out rather than hidden.
The Magic Gem
- Ships with its own model and inventory icon. Mechanically it stays an ordinary PEAK item, so carrying, throwing and networking behave exactly as usual - only the visuals are swapped.
- Cannot be eaten or used, whatever item it is built on.
- Swappable for your own model through
DiceSkinBundleandDiceIconFile.
Tornado
- Pulls in loose items as well as players. They circle on their own paths and heights and get flung out now and then, rather than orbiting in a neat ring.
- Stops at cliff walls but drives through stone pillars, boulders and trees, and climbs slopes.
- Fades out like a real one when you let go; you appear once it is gone.
Display
- Key list at the bottom left in PEAK's font, matching the game's own item prompts on the right. It changes with the creature and states the range each attack needs.
- Shape name, remaining time and an
IN RANGEmarker when an attack would actually land. - English and German, keys and creature tuning configurable throughout.
