README

StopPullingArrows

StopPullingArrows is a small PEAK QoL mod that prevents arrows embedded in your own character from stealing interaction priority when you're trying to grab chains, ropes, or other important interactables.

Arrows still hurt. Arrows still stick into you. You can still pull them out.

They just stop getting in the damn way when you're trying not to fall.

What it does

When the game picks an arrow stuck in your own character as the interaction target, the mod looks again (ignoring your arrows) for something else you could interact with. If it finds one, that wins:

  1. Climbables: Citadel chains / vines (JungleVine), ropes (RopeSegment), pitons (ClimbHandle)
  2. Any other world interactable
  3. Your own embedded arrow

If there is nothing else in reach, you target your arrow exactly like before and can pull it out.

What it does NOT touch

  • Arrow hits, damage, knockback, afflictions/status, visuals
  • Pulling arrows out (and its penalty)
  • Citadel arrow traps
  • Arrows stuck in other players
  • Networking: the mod is client-side only and sends nothing extra. Other players don't need it.

Config

BepInEx/config/StopPullingArrows.cfg

[General]
Enabled = true
DebugLogging = false

DebugLogging logs a line (once per target change, never per frame) when an arrow is skipped.
