Fast Start / Restart for PEAK

A quality-of-life mod for PEAK that lets you start and restart runs quickly and conveniently, bypassing the need to walk back to the airport kiosk.

This mod adds two simple, powerful hotkeys to streamline your gameplay loop.

🚀 Open Start Menu Anywhere (F5)

Tired of walking back to the check-in desk every time you want to start a new run? Simply press the F5 key while in the Airport lobby to instantly bring up the difficulty selection menu (the "Boarding Pass" screen). You can then choose your difficulty and start the game normally.

🔄 Smart Restart (F6)

Made a mistake early in your run or just want to get back to the action immediately? Press the F6 key at any time while you are on a mountain level to instantly restart.

This isn't a basic restart! The mod is smart: -It remembers the difficulty of your last run. -It automatically takes you back to the lobby and starts a new game with the exact same difficulty setting. -If you start a run on Ascent 3 and press F6, you will be put straight back into a new run on Ascent 3.

Note: Both hotkeys are safely disabled on the main title screen to prevent any issues or crashes.

Requirements: -BepInEx for PEAK. You can find the latest releases https://thunderstore.io/c/peak/p/BepInEx/BepInExPack_PEAK/ .

Installation: -Install BepInEx: If you haven't already, follow a guide to install the BepInEx 5 pack into your PEAK game directory. Run the game once to ensure BepInEx generates its necessary folders. -Download the Mod: Download the com.hubor.fastStart.dll file from the latest release. -Place the DLL: Move the downloaded .dll file into your BepInEx plugins folder, which is located at: [Your Steam Folder]\steamapps\common\PEAK\BepInEx\plugins
-Launch the Game: That's it! Launch PEAK, and the mod will be active.

Difficulty Logger: Added a patch that logs the selected Ascent level to the BepInEx console every time a game starts, whether through the mod or normally.
