README

Coop Plus - a cooperative-focused plugin for PEAK

In this mod, while climbing itself has been made a tad harder, engaging in cooperative aspects will help you to offset the increased difficulty.
Remember to delete all the generated .cfg files after downloading a new version, else you risk retaining all the old values (more stamina drained, more Fatigue, etc.)

Features

Forked branch of Dizziness mod from Tambi_Studio, but added the followings:

  • Proper interaction with items such as Cure-All, Pandora's Lunchbox, Cursed Skull, etc.
  • The more Diziness you have, the more the camera sways, making it harder for you to walk a straight line.
  • Having too much Dizziness causes the player to randomly stumble. Duration and Frequency of stumbles scale with Dizziness amount.

Fatigue Mod:

  • A brand new status that focuses on long-term stamina management and encourages cooperation.
  • Fatigue builds up based on the balance between Fatigue recovery rate and stamina usage rate.
  • The more often and intense the stamina is used, the slower the Fatigue recovery is.
  • Proper interaction with vanilla items.

Forked StaminaAdjuster from asdfmovie402:

  • A 33% increase in stamina usage for climbing walls. This is the cornerstone parameter of the mod.

Forked BetterFriendJump from Luluberlu:

  • Boosting your friends higher.

Better Friend Pull:

  • Pulling others from a greater distance.
  • The stamina of the pulled player is fully protected during and briefly after the pull. This prevents the stamina of the pulled player from getting continuously drained from odd ledges.

Feeding Frenzy:

  • Feeding others, and being fed, grants more Bonus Stamina.
  • On top of that, a flat bonus is given to make feeding small uncooked foods such as Red Crispberries more appetizing.

HuddleUp:

  • Huddling up during cold nights (A5+) grants small amount of Bonus Stamina.
  • The more people you huddle up with, the more Bonus Stamina is granted.
  • This feeds back into Fatigue Recovery since gaining Bonus Stamina is one of many ways to recover from Fatigue.

AoEFix:

  • Remedy Fungi now also work on people being carried on somebody's back.

RopeAnchorFix:

  • Makes placing ropes 2m above your head extremely hard. This is to prevent players from solo-ing and using 0.75m of rope to boost themselves up.

ScuttlePenalty:

  • Scuttling - a movement tech used to make super long horizontal climbs - now gives stamina penalty the more you perform it.
  • However, the first wall re-grab incurs zero penalty. This is to allow players to switch to another wall during complex climbs.
  • The plugin also features a stamina refund for legit players.
  • Players who get their stamina drained by looking up and having their characters automatically release and re-grab another wall get refunded some of the drained stamina. In vanilla, this draining value can go up to approximately 0.5, potentially killing the player in tough climbs.

Special Thanks

Tambi_Studio for the base DizzinessMod.
asdfmovie402 for the base StaminaAdjuster.
Luluberlu for the base BetterFriendJump.
Mad for testing with me.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

1.1.7

This patch does NOT require deletion of previously generated .cfg files.

  • Cleaned up some stale re-grabbing data.
  • Decoupled some debugging messages. Now logoutput.log shows only the re-grab penalties. Verbose debugging is not available.

With this patch, coopPlus is pretty much feature-complete. From now, the future goals are as follows - but I'm making no promises:

  • Consolidate all .dlls into 1 file with proper configuration fields.
  • Migrate to host-only.

1.1.6

This patch does NOT require deletion of previously generated .cfg files.

Quick fix:

  • First wall re-grab is free (no stamina penalty). The counter wasn't resetting properly in the previous patch.

1.1.5

This patch does NOT require deletion of previously generated .cfg files.
Chang(es):
Scuttle Penalty: so far, the stamina penalties and refunding have been working fine for normal climbs (up), but the detection logic was too sensitive for edge cases - e.g. when players need to jump down from great heights and grab the walls repeatedly to rescue somebody. Therefore, the following chang(es) have been made to make climbing down easier:

  • Made wall re-grabbing duration threshold lower. Meaning, you can re-grab a wall quicker after a MOUSE1 release without incurring penalties.
  • Note however, if you do it TOO quick, you will still get stamina penalties. Try to get a rhythm going while doing this maneuver.
  • Made the stamina refunding angles more lenient - now stamina refunding starts at 0 degrees re-grab instead of having to look up more than 15 degrees. Tested around the protruding bricks at the Caldera Temple.

Changes were made based on A7 settings, Other Damage set to HIGH.

1.1.4

This patch requires deletion of previously generated .cfg files.

Fix(es):

  • Stamina penalty chain when re-grabbing onto walls now properly get reset after each climb.

Chang(es):

  • Fatigue mod: reduced the Fatigue resistance from having Bonus Stamina.
  • Fatigue mod: updated background exertion calculation. Now it takes longer to build up exertion to counteract the Fatigue recovery rate, but it also decays slower. To truly reach a very slow recovery state (or high Fatigue build up rate), a player will have to spend around 800~1000 stamina continuously. This background "exertion" decays naturally during which it increases the recovery rate for Fatigue.
  • Fatigue mod: fixed exertion rate not getting updated correctly in the background. The recovery rate should behave more consistently now.

Now Fatigue is closer to its concept as a long-term stamina management and cooperative-focused status. Working with other players minimizes Fatigue build up, but it shouldn't make it a non-issue entirely - as seen, experienced, and reported from other players and myself.

Additions that were not mentioned in previous patches:

  • The mod now also features a way to prevent players from performing repeated side re-grab to make super long horizontal climbs.
  • The first wall re-grab incurs zero penalty. This is to facilitate legit wall-switching during complex climbs.
  • From the second wall re-grab, higher and higher penalties are applied the more the player performs wall re-grab.

1.1.3

This patch requires deletion of previously generated .cfg files.

Fixe(s):

  • Reaching 0 Stamina by doing non-stamina related actions such as picking up heavy items, etc. no longer gives you flat Fatigue. Probably some edge cases still exist, but it should work well enough.

Change(s):

  • Extensively modified the stamina protection logics to use Ascent data, expected stamina drain values and climbing pitch data. It should work a little more reliably now.

  • Some stamina will be immediately given if a forced stamina drain occurs during climbing.

  • Flat Fatigue amount given when reaching absolute 0 stamina is now 3.5% (was 5%).

1.1.2

This patch requires deletion of previously generated .cfg files.

Minor Dizziness rework:

  • Dizziness now takes a bit longer to start its recovery process. A bit slower recovery. A more dynamic build up/recovery process will be implemented later if there's demand.
  • Dizziness now features forced camera sway to throw off the player's aim. At higher Dizziness, the player has a chance to physically stumble. Do NOT attempt to climb chains or vines with moderate Dizziness. You have been warned.
  • Reduced movement impairment from higher Dizziness. Now moving around with Dizzines is an expression of skill rather than dealing with not being able to move at all.

Fixe(s) and Addition(s):

  • Fixed being able to place ropes way above your head. This should work for most situations, save for a few very edge cases.
  • Living Skeletons are now truly immune to Fatigue (for real this time)..
  • Cure-All now removes a flat 15 Fatigue upon consumption.
  • Cure-All now removes 20 Fatigue in a 3m radius upon cooking (explodes).
  • Very very slightly reduced the base recovery rate of Fatigue.
  • Adjusted Fatigue recovery logic. It is now very beneficial to keep yourself topped up with Bonus Stamina.

EXPERIMENTAL:

  • This patch features an experimental stamina protection plugin against odd ledges that sap all of your stamina when the you get stuck in a release/grab loop multiple times.
  • With enough testing, this can be released as a separate plugin.
  • With the introduction of this plugin, the forked version of StamConsumeFix by zsdm15 has been removed.

1.1.1

Fixe(s):

  • Fixed natural Fatigue recovery not working correctly in-game (I swear it worked fine in the Airport!).

1.1.0

This patch requires deletion of previously generated .cfg files.

Minor Fatigue rework:

  • Climbing small ledges, doing single small jumps, or accidentally tapping sprint no longer stop the Fatigue recovery process, although they do slow it down just a little bit. Fatigue now only builds up quick and recovers slow after extended and intense use of stamina such as repeatedly full-stamina climbing, draining your stamina completely, etc. Work with your fellow scouts to minimize your stamina usage.

Due to the rework's nature depending on your stamina usage frequency and its intensity (usage rate), do NOT re-grab lunge if it will empty both your Primary and Bonus Stamina bar. It will give you a burst of Fatigue. If you have a bit of Bonus Stamina, it's better to just double lunge instead. The mod comes with Better Friend Pull to avoid this.

Change(s)

  • Bonus Stamina from huddling up is now only granted during night time.
  • Stamina protection duration extended to 1 full second after getting pulled up.

1.0.9

Fixed the following issue(s):

  • Gaining Bonus Stamina not curing Fatigue.

Addition(s):

  • Added Fatigue interaction with Energy Drink. Upon consuming an Energy Drink, all current Fatigue will be cleared. Once the effect wears off, all previously cleared Fatigue will be added back along with an additional 10% Fatigue. If you are under the effect of Fortified Milk or Ancient Idol (Invinciblity), the 10% extra Fatigue won't be added. Cooking an Energy Drink doesn't affect Fatigue - all previously cleared Fatigue will still be added back. Fatigue will still recover naturally while you are under the effect of Invincibility, even if you are climbing!
  • Remedy Fungi now heal people being carried on someone's back.

Change(s):

  • Slightly adjusted the Fatigue recovery timing. It should take around 2 minutes to fully recover from 100 Fatigue, while without gaining any Bonus Stamina or performing Play Dead during the process.

Notes(s):

  • Fatigue interaction with Big Lollipop will be added later. As of right now, natural climbing while under the effect of Big Lollipop is still the superior choice. Re-grabbing walls prepeatedly while climbing with Big Lollipop is not recommended - you will meet your God if you do this.

Delete all your previously generated .cfg files for this newer version

1.0.8

Fixed the following issue(s):

  • Getting carried while having Fatigue creating a "phantom" affliction bar that prevented players from waking up naturally.

Addition(s):

  • Getting fed items that normally don't have Bonus Stamina will now give 7.5 Bonus Stamina, even for non-food items.

New feature(s):

  • Huddle Up: huddling up with others while cold now gives some extra stamina.

Change(s):

  • Adjusted Dizziness gain strength. You can now escape from spider even with ~50 weight. Cannons are usable again.
  • Adjusted Fatigue gain and recovery. Some players reported that the nerf in the previous patches was too heavy-handed and it got too easy.
  • Adjusted stamina usage while holding still on a wall. Now it consumes even less stamina than vanilla (50%). This is to give time for players to use tools and/or make better climbing decisions. Climbing is unchanged.

1.0.7

Cleaned up some configuration fields.

Added:

  • Fatigue recovers 1.66x faster when "Play Dead" emote is performed. Thanks Mad and chouja for the idea.

1.0.6

Fixed:

  • Cooking the Faerie Lantern now also removes some Dizziness and Fatigue. Whoops.

Added:

  • Napberry interaction with Fatigue and Dizziness.

Removed:

  • Drowsiness from reaching 90 Dizziness.

1.0.5

Dizziness Mod:

  • Decreased status gain. Using the Scout Cannon should give you about 60 Dizziness unless you get double-fuse which is a bug with the vanilla game itself. Scout Cannon produced around 90 Dizziness before this patch.

StaminaAdjuster:

  • Very slightly decreased the climbing stamina usage (~80% compared to previous patch).

Fatigue Mod:

  • Fatigue recovery process should start sooner and grow a bit quicker now, plus, very slightly increased maximum recovery rate.
  • Fatigue now builds up much slower.
  • Fatigue should still be a status for long-term stamina management. As of right now, Cold Night is still a bigger threat.
  • Slightly increased Fatigue recovery from getting Bonus Stamina.

BetterFriendPull:

  • Slightly increased the Stamina Freeze timer after a pull.

Added:

  • Fatigue and Dizziness interaction with Faerie Lantern. Healing at a rate of 2.5/s.
  • Fatigue and Dizziness interaction with Blowdgun.

Note: Don't get grabbed by Spiders. If you do, scream for help and hope your fellow Scouts can throw something at the spider or pull you out.

1.0.4

Fixed:

  • Using Cursed Skull now fully clears both Dizziness and Fatigue. Clearing Fatigue wasn't working before.

1.0.3

Fixed:

  • Using the Book of Bones now properly removes Dizziness and Fatigue.
  • Living Skeleton players are now immune to Dizziness and Fatigue (you didn't beat the game).
  • Using Pandora's Lunchbox under the effect of Fortified Milk now properly removes Fatigue and Dizziness (along other statuses - if any).
  • Using Pandora's Lunchbox as a Skeleton will not give the player Dizziness or Fatigue.
  • Cursed Skull now removes Dizziness and some Fatigue.
  • Both Dizziness and Fatigue are now correctly considered as meaningful statuses for death timer purpose.

Added:

  • Embedded a lean version of StaminaAdjuster by asdfmovie402
  • Embedded a lean version of BetterFriendJump by Luluberlu

1.0.2

  • Updated dependencies.

1.0.1

  • Updated description and added BepInEx dependency to avoid confusion.

1.0.0
