Dogpope
A personal mod based on my dogs Maple and Kimchi, adding them as in game valuables for me and my friends.
Dogpope adds them to R.E.P.O. as separate valuables:
- Maple is a compact red Shiba Inu sitting politely, complete with her distinctive coat and markings.
- Kimchi is a very large, fluffy grey-black dog standing on all four legs with an enormous curled plume tail.
Both dogs use legally purchased, game-ready dog meshes that were re-proportioned, posed and recoloured to resemble the owner's dogs and the package-specific concept turnarounds. Maple is permanently seated with a lifted Shiba curl; Kimchi stands on all four legs with a broad build, dark silver coat and over-back plume tail. No private photographs, editable source models or raw purchased textures are included in the package.
Gameplay defaults
- Maple is a medium valuable worth $7,000–$10,000 with a physics mass of 2.5.
- Kimchi is a big valuable worth $15,000–$22,000 with a physics mass of 4.5, tuned for comfortable solo carrying after two grab-strength upgrades.
- Both are deliberately very durable and retain nearly all of their value after ordinary knocks.
- Their simplified collision shapes make the detailed silhouettes and curled tails less likely to snag in doors.
- Both are registered in the generic valuable category and are also added to compatible valuable pools on every loaded vanilla or custom map.
Configuration
After the first launch, settings are available in:
BepInEx/config/bobpope.repo.dogpope.cfg
You can change each dog's minimum value, maximum value, physics mass, shared impact sensitivity and value retention. Automatic custom-map injection can also be disabled if another mod manages valuable pools.
Valuable Rebalance 3.2.0 is supported. After injecting the dogs, this mod asks Valuable Rebalance to refresh its cached pools so Maple and Kimchi remain eligible regardless of plugin load order. Valuable Rebalance manages selection pools rather than these dog-specific dollar-value presets, so the ranges above remain configurable here.
Multiplayer
All players should install this mod and REPOLib. The custom valuables are registered as network prefabs.
Asset notice
The dog identities and markings are based on private reference photographs supplied with permission by their owner. The icon uses the front-facing package concept artwork. The in-game meshes are modified, frozen and compiled derivatives of two lawfully purchased CGTrader assets used under their respective Royalty Free licences. See ASSET-LICENSES.md for full provenance and reuse restrictions.
CHANGELOG
Changelog
1.0.5
- Adopted Dogpope as the final official package and plugin name.
- Applied the final personal-mod description for the first Thunderstore upload.
- Renamed the compiled plugin and configuration identity to match the public package name.
1.0.4
- Removed Maple's added rear detail completely; the purchased sitting pose covers the anatomically correct location and any visible substitute appeared on her back.
- Sculpt-smoothed Kimchi's upper-back geometry while preserving her overall body volume, coat UVs, colouring, legs, underside and curled tail.
- Narrowed Kimchi's skull slightly and lengthened and tapered her muzzle, keeping the eyes, nose, mouth and teeth aligned for a more clearly defined face and snoot.
1.0.3
- Smoothed Kimchi's visible surface normals and retained more of the purchased mesh geometry to remove the faceted, low-poly appearance seen in game.
- Reduced Kimchi's default physics mass from 7.5 to 4.5 so a solo player with two grab-strength upgrades can carry her comfortably; existing installations using the old default migrate automatically.
- Replaced Kimchi's two oversized collision boxes with a close four-part compound shape around her legs, torso, chest and head, and reduced her spawn-room volume.
- Repositioned Maple's dark rear detail onto the rump surface immediately above the tail root and embedded it into the model so it no longer floats.
1.0.2
- Fixed Maple and Kimchi appearing to do nothing when spawned through Empress Spawn Browser in single-player.
- Stored the registered prefab templates under a dormant container while keeping spawned copies active for direct-instantiation tools.
- Retained the revised Kimchi model, colouring and collision shapes and Maple's darker rear detail from 1.0.1.
1.0.1
- Rebuilt Kimchi's head from an expanded private reference set, restoring a deeper, heavier muzzle and a broader skull and mane.
- Repainted Kimchi in her photographed charcoal, silver and warm-cream palette with a dark muzzle, lighter ruff, dark saddle and pale plume.
- Added Maple's deliberately very dark rear anatomical detail without altering her approved coat or sitting pose.
- Updated Kimchi's room check and compound colliders for the deeper final silhouette.
1.0.0
- Added the seated Maple valuable using a licensed Shiba Inu base, a clean no-alpha coat, a closed-mouth sitting pose and a raised spiral tail.
- Added the standing Kimchi valuable using a licensed Alaskan Malamute/Husky base with a broader silhouette, shorter muzzle, dark silver coat and over-back plume tail.
- Added configurable generous value ranges and physics mass.
- Added a shared high-durability preset.
- Added forgiving compound collision shapes.
- Added automatic support for every compatible valuable preset on loaded vanilla and modded maps.
