Difficulty Editor
Configure R.E.P.O. difficulty directly in-game through REPOConfig.
Difficulty Editor gives you precise control over level generation: add rooms, extraction points, and selected enemy types without changing the haul quota or forcing every enemy type to appear on the same map.
Features
- Add extra rooms to each level.
- Add physical extraction points.
- Automatically scale valuable loot to 35,000–42,000 per quota unit.
- Configure additional amounts for every individual enemy type.
- All settings use whole numbers:
0keeps the vanilla value; positive numbers add that many. - Full in-game configuration through REPOConfig.
- Works in single-player and multiplayer when installed by the host.
How Enemy Settings Work
The game still selects the enemy types that can spawn on a level. Difficulty Editor only adds extra copies of those selected types. It does not force all enemies to spawn at once.
For example, setting Chef to +2 adds two Chefs only when Chefs are part of the level's normal enemy selection.
How Rooms and Extraction Points Work
Room and extraction-point counts are changed during the original level-generation process, so the game keeps control of the layout:
- Extraction points are placed in outer rooms with one entrance.
- Rooms with four connections can appear in the interior of the map.
- Rooms with one, two, or three connections are placed around the outer edge.
- The required haul quota is never changed.
Valuable Loot Scaling
The mod sets the valuable-loot target to a random value between 35,000 and 42,000 for every quota unit. One quota unit equals one extraction point or six rooms, whichever produces the larger result. This means that adding rooms or extraction points also adds enough loot to match the larger level.
The default 24-room, 4-extraction-point level therefore receives a target of 140,000–168,000 valuable loot. The minimum and maximum values can be changed in REPOConfig.
Installation
- Install the mod with Thunderstore Mod Manager.
- Install
REPOConfigwhen prompted. - Start the game and open Mods to configure Difficulty Editor.
Settings apply when the next level is generated.
Multiplayer
The host controls level generation. Install and configure the mod on the host's profile so every player receives the same generated level.
