README

Cobblestone (CS:GO) 1.1.0

CS:GO's de_cbble as a skate map for Skate with ReSkate. The whole castle and the hill it stands on can be skated: cobbled courtyards, flagstone yards, stone stairs and ledges, and the grass slopes and road outside the walls.

New in 1.1.0

  • Sharper textures everywhere: every texture is now up to 1024 px, where most props were held at 512 px before.

About the black props

In 1.0.0, textures away from the skateable surfaces were held at 512 px, because larger textures made props show up black until you skated close to them. The cause was a bug in ReSkate Studio, the tool that builds the map, not the map itself. Studio's latest update fixed it (texture mip offset, materials with a single base texture, and vertex colours), and with the map rebuilt in the new Studio the props load correctly at full 1024 px.

Notes

  • Uses the original CS:GO lighting (no Enlighten).
  • The "no entry" tape on the doors and the sheet metal over the wall hole are gone, so you can ride through.
  • Loose rock and rubble piles, ferns, shrubs and bushes don't stop your board; you roll right through them.
  • Small lips where the cobbles meet stone floors are smoothed out, so the board keeps rolling.
  • Most of the cracks between ground pieces are closed.
  • Invisible walls keep you inside the playable area.
  • Textures are capped at 1024 px to keep the map's size and memory use reasonable.
