CHANGELOG
0.2.1 (work in progress)
- Alt skin fixes
- Fixed leftover mouth geometry poking through the right side of the muzzle (visible mostly on the Alt skin). The muzzle is now symmetrical, built from its clean left half.
- Fixed the Inhibitor Rings tilting away from the wrist cuffs: the rings (and the hand-side cap of the cuffs) now follow the same wrist bone as the cuffs, so they always stay parallel, like the ankle rings already did.
- Fixed Shadow's fingers looking broken in all his animations: the finger poses were re-transferred from the original Sonic X Shadow Generations animations, with every finger segment aimed exactly where it points in the original, so his hands close into a proper fist instead of bending backwards or sideways.
- New logbook entry, written by human hands this time :P Replaces the placeholder entry from 0.2.0.
- Updated README.
0.2.0 (work in progress)
Updated to follow Sonic 5.0.0 / HedgehogUtils 2.0.0.
- Requires HedgehogUtils 2.0.0 (super form, boost and HUD systems were rewritten there).
- New boost VFX from HedgehogUtils 2.0: the normal boost is just a transparent wind effect (like Sonic 5.0), the power boost (high health) uses an orange trail, and the red trail is now only for Super Shadow.
- Animated lock-on reticle for the homing attack, in orange/red (gold while Super).
- Super Shadow gets the new rim glow Sonic 5.0 added to Super Sonic (eyes and nose excluded).
- Power boost particles moved to the new boost meter HUD.
- Config / Risk of Options: the Parry unlock option now uses the new achievement name ("Shadow: Death To All Who Oppose Me"). LookingGlass buff names now describe Shadow's buffs (Chaos Spear, Chaos Mode, Chaos Control, Chaos Blast, Time Stop) instead of Sonic's.
- Not ported: Sonic's new Cyloop special and DLC achievements.
- New logbook lore entry, planning an actual human made version instead of this.
- New package icon.
- Fixed the Boost meter disappearing for the rest of the stage after Shadow's skills were temporarily replaced (e.g. swallowed by a Mimic).
- Fixed the red Chaos Mode aura sometimes staying on Shadow after Chaos Mode ended.
- Fixed Shadow's feet sinking into the ground while running/boosting, and floating slightly while standing.
- Removed the mouth line from Shadow's muzzle (geometry and texture), matching Sonic's model.
- Removed an unused hard dependency on R2API Addressables.
0.1.1 (work in progress)
-
New homing attack tricks: box_kick_boost_r and jump_attack_hit_start join the random trick pool (now 8 tricks).
-
Primary combo: the 2nd hit now uses Shadow's warp kick (attack_warp_f_01); the 4th hit keeps the flying kick.
-
New falling animation in the air (jump_attack_hit_loop).
-
Death in the air: Shadow falls with stolen_emerald_fall_loop and plays stolen_emerald_fall_down when he hits the ground (the body is no longer removed mid-fall). Dying on the ground keeps the previous death animation.
-
Landing the final hit of the primary combo gives back the air Chaos Control (it still costs Boost meter).
-
Overall nerfs to put Shadow on the same level as Sonic (I got beat up in the trials and blamed Shadow instead of my skill issue, buffed him a lot but things got out of hand):
- Passive (idle) Boost regen is half of Sonic's; kills still refill 10%. Boost itself lasts as long as Sonic's, forcing Shadow to be more aggressive to keep up with Sonic.
- Fighting refills Boost too: +1% per hit of Shadow's own skills (scaled by proc coefficient), and half the % of health lost when taking damage. Item procs, DoTs, Chaos Blast and Chaos Mode don't count.
- Chaos Blast: 200% per tick (was 450%). Radius: up to ~16 m below half meter; from half meter it jumps to 22 m and grows to 32 m at full meter (was up to 40 m).
-
Chaos Blast area orb now spins slowly.
- Chaos Spear: damage per spear 300% / 200% / 250% at Lv1 / Lv2 / Lv3 (was 100% / 100% / 200%), each level takes 0.9 s to charge (was 0.6 s), armor reduction 5 (was 10), stun 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 s (was 1.5 / 2 / 3 s), recharge 5 s (was 4 s).
- Chaos Mode: +10 armor (was +20).
-
New Parry unlock: "Shadow: Death To All Who Oppose Me!" - hit 30 different enemies with a single Chaos Blast (replaces the homing attack achievement).
-
Super Shadow visuals:
- Wrist bands stay black and eyes stay red (the nose is black again too).
- Own skill icons: Shadow's icons recolored gold; Chaos Mode shows a green Chaos Emerald; Chaos Spear has a gold background with red spears.
- Combo afterimages use Shadow's shoe for the four kicks and both fists for the final hammer.
-
Super Shadow's homing attack teleports to the target, like in Chaos Mode.
-
Time-stopped enemies stay frozen without the blue overlay.
-
Multiplayer: homing attack tricks are now sent over the network, so every player sees the same trick.
0.1.0 (work in progress)
- Shadow as a separate survivor. Can be installed together with the Sonic mod.
- Shadow's own model (Sonic Generations) and Super Shadow colors.
- Shadow's animations from Sonic X Shadow Generations: idle, idle extra, run, sprint, boost, combo first/last hit, death, character select, Chaos Mode activation, Chaos Blast charge and Chaos Spear throw.
- Super Shadow (Sonic Adventure 2 colors): every boost press is a free Chaos Control blink; Special tap stops time around him, hold for a Super Chaos Blast (2x size and damage); Chaos Spears chase enemies.
- Shadow's own sounds (Wwise soundbank): Chaos Control, Chaos Spear, Chaos Mode, Chaos Blast, boost, jet skate steps synced to his feet, and a death line.
- Red skill icons; Shadow falls to the ground when he dies.
- Passive: kills refill 10% of the Boost meter.
- Chaos Spear (secondary): hold to charge up to 3 levels (1/3/5 spears, shotgun spread, piercing from level 2), stuns and lowers armor. Own lightning-bolt visuals.
- Boost: orange (red at high health). In the air it becomes Chaos Control: a teleport that costs half the meter, makes you invincible and freezes in time enemies that hit you.
- Chaos Mode (special, tap): cleanses debuffs, stat boost, drains the Boost meter, free boosting and teleporting homing attacks.
- Chaos Blast (special, hold): charges in place with damage resistance, then a growing red explosion. Uses the whole Boost meter.
