Invoker
The Conjurer — a hovering summoner-sorcerer for Risk of Rain 2. Mark your prey, command a trio of Cinderlings, and call forth the towering Ossuary Regent. Unlock a second set of spells for a stronger spellcasting playstyle.
Public beta, version 0.1.54. Includes custom models, portraits, skill icons, hover presentation, and three unlockable outfits with matching summons and spell colors.
Abilities
| Slot | Starting ability | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Primary | Arcane Bolt | Fire a magical projectile. |
| Secondary | Eldritch Blast | Blast and mark an enemy. Your thralls prioritize marked targets. |
| Utility | Void Step | Blink a short distance. Hold a movement direction to step that way; works on the ground and in the air. |
| Special | Raise Thrall | Summon a Cinderling. Keep up to three; a new summon replaces the oldest at the limit. |
| Extra summon | Ossuary Regent | Call a single powerful companion, with its own 30-second cooldown. |
The Regent uses the extra mouse thumb button (Mouse4 in the configuration) by default. Its HUD label is M3; this is not the mouse wheel. It does not replace your equipment slot. To rebind it, launch once, close the game, and edit Ossuary Regent → Summon key in com.dillan.Invoker.cfg using your mod manager's config editor. A keyboard key such as V also works. Restart after changing it.
Primary, secondary, utility, special, and equipment follow your normal game bindings. Hovering is a visual style, not unrestricted flight.
Unlocks
Complete these challenges as Invoker:
| Reward | Challenge |
|---|---|
| Nightfall — charcoal armor, silver detailing, blue jewels and effects | Silent Command: defeat a teleporter boss encounter without personally damaging any of its bosses. Your own Cinderling or Ossuary Regent must land a boss killing blow. |
| Soulbound — red and gold armor with green soul effects | Beat the game or obliterate on Monsoon or higher. |
| Soul Lance, Rift Detonation, and Soulstorm | The same Monsoon or higher mastery challenge. |
| Ashen Oracle — ivory armor, black accents, pink jewels and shadow effects | Beat the game or obliterate on Starstorm 2's Typhoon difficulty. |
Every outfit changes your Cinderlings and Regent to match. Classic and the original abilities are available immediately.
For Silent Command, you may fight ordinary enemies and teammates may help. Avoid personally damaging any boss in that teleporter encounter, including damage from your items, equipment, or damage-over-time effects. A teammate-only boss kill does not satisfy the summon killing-blow requirement.
Starstorm 2 is optional. You only need it to earn Ashen Oracle on Typhoon. Invoker works without Starstorm 2, and Oracle stays usable without it after you have earned the unlock.
Alternate spells
- Soul Lance: a precise piercing primary attack with a slower firing rate.
- Rift Detonation: a delayed area blast that marks enemies for your summons.
- Soulstorm: a pulsing ritual storm with an 11-metre radius, swirling mist, and a spectral sound sequence. Replaces Raise Thrall in the special slot; your separate Regent summon remains available.
Installation
Install Invoker through Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman and allow its required dependencies to install. Launch the game modded. Starstorm 2 is a separate optional download.
For a manual installation, install the listed dependencies first, then copy this archive's plugins/Invoker folder into BepInEx/plugins, keeping AssetBundles and Soundbanks beside HenryMod.dll. The DLL retains its original internal filename. Do not install a second copy of an older Invoker test build alongside it.
No saved progress or testing configuration is included. New installations use the normal unlock requirements. Existing configuration is preserved when updating; if you previously enabled testing access and want normal progression, set the four entries in the Testing section to false and restart.
Co-op and beta status
The host and every player need the same Invoker version. Use matching mod profiles, especially when playing on Typhoon. The mod enforces the same-version requirement.
This is an early public beta. Startup, survivor/skin registration, skill gates, and automated challenge logic have been checked. Full co-op sessions, live challenge awards through completed runs, and compatibility with large modpacks still need wider playtesting. Animation, effect and sound balance may receive further updates.
When reporting a problem, include the Invoker version, selected outfit and skills, whether you were host or client, your mod profile code, reproduction steps, and relevant error lines from BepInEx/LogOutput.log. Review logs for personal information before sharing.
