Last Three Hits
When a player dies, see the last three damage events in game chat, newest first. Each row shows the attacker, effect or object, reported damage. The killing event is included. Repeated hits from the same attacker use separate rows.
The report is also written to BepInEx/LogOutput.log.
Initial release: Host mode passed eight scripted checks in the real game through Proton. Multiplayer with a second player and Local mode are not yet verified. Please use this release for testing and report failures with a log.
Install with r2modman
Install Last Three Hits by rawteam. r2modman installs BepInExPack and its dependencies. Start the game with Start modded.
For a local ZIP, use Settings > Profile > Import local mod, select the release ZIP, and check that BepInExPack is installed. The exact menu labels can vary.
The package also requires RoR2BepInExPack 1.46.0, the startup and compatibility fix pack used for the application checks. Update this dependency when prompted.
Choose a mode
After the first launch, close the game. Use r2modman's config editor, or edit
BepInEx/config/com.rawteam.lastthreehits.cfg. Set Mode in [Reports].
| Mode | Who installs it | Who sees the reports |
|---|---|---|
Host (default) |
The host | Everyone in the lobby, for every player |
Local |
Each player who wants a personal report | Only that player, in their own chat log |
Host uses the host's full damage reports. Other players can read them without
this mod. A client with Mode = Host relies on the host's reports.
Local is designed for joining a host that has no Last Three Hits mod. It records your last three received damage notifications. It cannot recover notifications or source details that the server did not send. The report has a Client data note because the final hit, exact attack, or damage-over-time type can be missing. When you host in Local mode, it uses full server data for your own report only.
Use Host in a lobby that already has host reports. Selecting Local in that
lobby can show your personal report as well as the host's report.
Local reports are not sent to other players. The mod sends no custom network messages.
What the numbers mean
- These are the last three events, not three different enemy types.
- Damage is the amount reported by the game after its damage calculations. It can include shield and barrier damage or exceed the remaining health. It is not a health-loss meter.
- Host data uses the game's damage-over-time type, such as Bleed or Burn.
- Fall and out-of-bounds flags identify environmental damage.
- An effect object can use its game object name. This is not a verified skill name.
- If the game gives no attacker or attack name, the report says unknown.
- A new body starts with an empty history. With fewer than three events, the report shows the available events and their count. It does not invent entries.
- In Host mode, deaths from
Suicide()can produce a death report without an ordinary damage notification. The mod includes that death event when it is available.
Compatibility and support
Built against Risk of Rain 2 1.5.0 and BepInExPack 5.4.2122. Game updates can change the event API. Check a new game version before use.
Other mods can change damage data, suppress events, replace bodies, or suppress chat. The report can only show events that reach the game's standard APIs. Custom revival that reuses a dead body is not verified.
For an issue, include the game version, mod list, steps, and
BepInEx/LogOutput.log. Remove personal information before sharing a log.
