README

JJK Ten Shadows

A ROUNDS card mod inspired by the Ten Shadows technique from Jujutsu Kaisen.

How it works

  1. Pick Unlock Ten Shadows. You get the Divine Dogs right away, and shadow cards can show up in your picks from then on.
  2. Hold J (controller: D-pad Up) to open the wheel around your character. Point at a shadow with the mouse (controller: right stick) and release to select it.
  3. Press K (controller: Y / Triangle) to summon the selected shadow.

Unlock Ten Shadows (Uncommon)

Stat Value
Health +15%
Movement speed +15%
Damage +10%
Divine Dogs granted

Can only be taken once.

Divine Dogs

A pair of black and white wolf-like shikigami, given from the start. They excel at tracking, scouting and physical combat.

Stat Value
Dogs at once 2 (one black, one white)
Dog health 200
Bite damage 25 (once per second)
Dog lasts 30 seconds
Summon cooldown 8 seconds
  • The first summon brings the black dog; once the cooldown ends, the next brings the white dog. With both out you can't summon more until one is gone.
  • Tracking: they sense enemies up to 30 units from you and hunt them down.
  • Scouting: the enemy a dog is hunting gets a marker on your screen. When that enemy is off-screen, the marker sits at the screen edge and points toward them.
  • They float behind you between fights. Enemies can shoot them; below 30% health a dog retreats to you and heals while it stays close, then rejoins the fight at 70%.
  • All dogs vanish when a point ends.

Divine Dog: Totality

If the White Dog is killed, its power merges into the Black Dog. If the Black Dog is out it transforms on the spot; otherwise your next summon is Totality. For the rest of the game you summon a single Divine Dog: Totality instead of the pair.

Stat Value
Dogs at once 1
Health 450
Bite damage 45 (every 0.75 s)
Size 1.4x a Divine Dog
Speed +20%, dashes more often

A dog that simply runs out of time does not trigger Totality. A new game gives everyone their pair back.

Multiplayer

Works in local and online multiplayer. Every player in an online lobby needs the mod installed. Each shadow is controlled by its owner's game and mirrored to everyone else, so on other players' screens it can trail its real position very slightly. Hunt markers are only shown to the dogs' owner.

Known limitations

  • The buttons are fixed (J / K on keyboard, D-pad Up / Y on controller).

CHANGELOG

Changelog

1.1.1

  • New Epic card: Divine General Mahoraga (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). Its wheel turns above your head and adapts to bullets, poison, burn, stun, freeze and dazzle; adaptations stack until the round ends. Switch it on or off from its slot on the Ten Shadows wheel.
  • Cursed energy: summoning now costs cursed energy (shown in a bar under you) on top of cooldowns; it refills over time.
  • Wheel pages: the Ten Shadows wheel now has three pages (press K or scroll while it's open): shikigami, weapons kept in your shadow, and abilities.
  • New card: Black-Bladed Sword (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). Equip it from the weapons page; your attack swings it instead of shooting.
  • New card: Chimera Shadow Garden (needs Unlock Ten Shadows, abilities page). Megumi's domain: floods the area with shadow, makes your summons cheaper and faster inside, ambushes enemies from the shadows and surrounds you with shadow decoys.
  • New card: Shadow Swim (abilities page). Sink into your shadow, glide along the ground untouchable, burst out under nearby enemies.
  • New card: Shadow Clones (abilities page). Shadow copies of you rush the nearest enemies, strike once with your current weapon and vanish.
  • All shadows redrawn from scratch with detailed, shaded models (Divine Dogs, Totality, Nue, Toad, Great Serpent, Max Elephant, Rabbit Escape, Piercing Ox, Round Deer, Tiger Funeral and Mahoraga's wheel), and new card art for every card.

1.1.0

  • Summon with block: blocking now summons the selected shadow (K and controller Y are gone).
  • Divine Dog: Totality that gets killed is gone for the rest of the game.
  • Toad reworked: it appears, grabs the closest enemy within 35 units with its tongue, drags them in and holds them, then vanishes.
  • Max Elephant reworked: it drops from the sky above you; the higher the fall, the bigger the area damage. The impact floods the area with water that slows enemies.
  • Round Deer now heals your shadows too.
  • Tiger Funeral now also upgrades each of your other shadows while it's out: homing Piercing Ox, a hunting Rabbit Escape swarm, a bigger and stronger Round Deer glow, longer Toad tongue, wider Great Serpent ambush, a bigger Max Elephant flood, longer Nue stuns and faster Divine Dogs.
  • Great Serpent rebalanced: strike damage 30 → 18, and it can no longer kill: it never takes anyone below 15% of their health.

1.0.9

  • Walking shadows (Divine Dogs, Tiger Funeral, Piercing Ox) and the ground-placed ones (Toad, Great Serpent, Max Elephant, Round Deer) now stand on boxes and other props, not just the main map, so they no longer fall through them.

1.0.8

  • Now also installs AllThePatch and Lag Balancer (common fixes for online play).

  • The mod no longer fails to start with an outdated ModdingUtils (older than 0.4): shadow cards then just aren't locked behind Unlock Ten Shadows. Updating ModdingUtils is still recommended.

1.0.7

  • Unlock Ten Shadows is now Common (was Uncommon), so it shows up in picks more often.
  • Every shadow card is one rarity lower, so they show up more often: Nue, Toad, Great Serpent, Max Elephant, Piercing Ox and Round Deer are now Uncommon, Rabbit Escape is Common, and Tiger Funeral is Rare (was Epic).

1.0.6

  • New Epic shadow card: Tiger Funeral (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). A savage close-range tiger whose claws burn; while it's out, your other shadows deal 50% more damage and all your shadows ignore block.
  • Now requires RarityLib (for the Epic rarity; shared with other mods such as Rarity Bundle).

1.0.5

  • New shadow card: Piercing Ox (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). Charges in a straight line where you aim; the longer it runs without stopping, the harder it hits.
  • New shadow card: Round Deer (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). Pours out Reverse Cursed Energy that heals you while you stay in its glow.
  • The Ten Shadows wheel now has 10 slots, and shadows appear on it in the order you picked their cards.

1.0.4

  • New shadow card: Great Serpent (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). Lurks as a shadow, then bursts out of the ground beneath an enemy and coils around them; bigger targets are held longer.
  • New shadow card: Max Elephant (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). Drops onto enemies with crushing weight, then blasts them with a pressurized water jet.
  • New shadow card: Rabbit Escape (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). A swarm of rabbits hides you like a smoke screen and shoves back enemies that run into it.
  • The Ten Shadows wheel is now bigger and opens in the middle of the screen.

1.0.3

  • New shadow card: Nue (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). Hold jump in the air to ride it; its electric wings shock and stun enemies.
  • New shadow card: Toad (needs Unlock Ten Shadows). Sits where summoned; its tongue yanks enemies in and holds them.
  • Divine Dogs now walk the map instead of floating: following, jumping, chasing, pouncing, and shadow travel when stuck.

1.0.2

  • New card: Unlock Ten Shadows (+15% health, +15% movement speed, +10% damage). Grants the Divine Dogs and unlocks shadow cards.
  • New: Ten Shadows wheel. Hold J (controller: D-pad Up) to pick a shadow, press K (controller: Y) to summon it.
  • Shadow Wolf reworked into the Divine Dogs: a black and a white dog, at most two out at once, with new wolf-like art.
  • New: Divine Dog: Totality. When the White Dog is killed, its power merges into the Black Dog for the rest of the game.
  • New: tracking and scouting. The dogs hunt enemies up to 30 units away and mark the hunted enemy on your screen.
  • Dogs no longer block or carry players, but can still be shot.
  • Summon key changed from H to K.

1.0.1

  • Online multiplayer support: shadows, bites and damage are synced between players.
  • Controller support (Y to summon).

1.0.0

  • First version: the Shadow Wolf card.
