BepInEx-BepInExPack_IL2CPP
BepInEx pack for IL2CPP x64 Unity games. Preconfigured and ready to use.
Preferred version: 6.0.755README
PhotoFrames
A decoration mod for Shadows of Doubt that lets you keep the pictures you take and the news you read. Print a photo from the in-game camera, or clip a story out of a newspaper, and hang either on a wall as a framed picture or a paper cut-out that you can see in the world. It is purely cosmetic. It does not change cases, evidence, or how citizens behave, and everything you hang is kept with your save.
Features
Print your photos. Every photo you take with the in-game camera can be printed from a Photos app on the cruncher in a home you own. Open the app, browse a ring of your most recent shots, pick one to preview it large, and print it. The printed photo goes into your inventory as a held item, ready to hang. You can reprint the same shot as many times as you like.
Clip newspaper stories. While you are reading a newspaper, you can cut any single story out of it, a headline article or an advert, and keep it. A small prompt at the top of the screen shows which story is selected; step through them and clip the one you want. The clipping is rebuilt cleanly on real newspaper paper with the paper's own masthead, date, and type, sized to the story like a real cut-out, so it reads perfectly instead of being a dark, angled snapshot of the page. It also works with newspaper stories surfaced by other mods, since it reads whatever the page is currently showing.
Hang them on the wall. Hold a printed photo or a clipping, face a wall, and right-click to hang it where you are looking. Photos get a simple dark frame; clippings hang as the bare paper. Look at one you have hung and right-click to take it back down into your inventory, then hang it somewhere else. Build a whole board of them.
Kept with your save. Everything you hang is stored in the save itself, not a separate file, so it survives saving, quitting, and loading, and it travels with the save through Steam Cloud like the rest of your game.
Works with PlacementPlus. If you also run the PlacementPlus mod, its precision placement works on photos and clippings too. While you position one with its placement key, you see the real picture or article following the item instead of a blank sheet, and when you set it down it becomes a proper hung frame.
Controls
The photo keys and the newspaper keys can be rebound in the config file.
Printing photos. Sit at a cruncher in a home you own, open the Photos app, select a shot, and press Print. There is also a quick key (default K) that prints your most recent photo straight to your inventory while you are out in the world.
Clipping newspaper stories. While holding a newspaper:
- Next story:
K. Previous story:J. - Clip the selected story:
L.
These only do anything while a newspaper is in your hand; the rest of the time K and L are the photo keys above.
Hanging and taking down. Hold a photo or clipping and right-click while facing a wall to hang it. Look at a hung one and right-click to take it back down.
Compatibility
PhotoFrames is cosmetic and self-contained. What you hang rides the normal save, so it persists without any separate file, and every change is wrapped so a problem cannot crash your game. It does not alter cases, evidence, or citizen behaviour, and it runs alongside other mods. If PlacementPlus is present it adds the preview described above; if it is not, nothing changes.
Requirements
- The BepInEx IL2CPP pack, listed as a dependency.
- Keep the game on its current version. The mod is built against the live game build.
Config
A config file is created the first time you run the game with the mod installed, at BepInEx/config/Kropath.PhotoFrames.cfg. You can rebind the keys, choose whether the Photos app appears only on your own home crunchers or on every cruncher, set how many recent photos the app lists, and turn the newspaper clipping and the PlacementPlus preview on or off.
CHANGELOG
Changelog
1.1.1
- Fixed hung photos showing up horizontally flipped. A printed photo on the wall now reads the same way round as its case-board thumbnail. Photos already on your walls fix themselves the next time you load the save, so there is nothing to re-hang.
1.1.0
Build a real case board. This update turns the wall of photos and clippings into something you can wire together and annotate, and fixes the lighting on the items you hang.
- Yarn mode. Press the yarn key, pick a colour with the mouse wheel, and left-click two pins to stretch coloured string across the wall. The string sags like real yarn, sits on top of your photos and notes, and dims in the dark. Aim at one to highlight it and right-click to remove it.
- Writeable post-it notes. Place a note on a wall and type on it in the case-board handwriting. Aim at a note to edit it, right-click to reposition it, or recolour it; empty a note to remove it.
- Photos, clippings, and notes now dim to match the room's light, so an unlit room no longer leaves them glowing. Adjustable, up to nearly invisible in full dark.
- Choose whether each printed photo hangs with a frame or as a bare print, with a key while holding it; each photo remembers its choice.
- Photos and case-board items are unlimited by default (they cost very little), with optional limits in the config for constrained machines.
- Many robustness fixes from a full review: the hung-item models can no longer reappear after leaving and returning, right-clicks no longer double up between features, items only pin to walls (never to citizens), and a note edit can never leave the game paused.
1.0.0
First release. A cosmetic mod for keeping the photos you take and the news you read on your walls. It does not change cases, evidence, or how citizens behave, and everything you hang is kept with your save.
- Print your photos. Every shot from the in-game camera can be printed from a Photos app on a home cruncher: browse a ring of your recent photos, preview one, and print it to your inventory. A quick key also prints your most recent photo out in the world.
- Clip newspaper stories. While reading a newspaper, step through the stories and cut any single one out, article or advert. The clipping is rebuilt cleanly on newspaper paper with the masthead, date, and type, sized like a real cut-out, and it reflects whatever the page is showing.
- Hang photos and clippings on any wall with right-click, and take them back down the same way to move them.
- Everything you hang is stored in the save, so it survives saving and loading and travels with Steam Cloud.
- Works with PlacementPlus: precision-place a photo or clipping and see the real picture or article as you position it, then set it down as a proper hung frame.
Keys can be rebound and the Photos app, newspaper clipping, and PlacementPlus preview can be turned on or off in the config file. See the README for the controls.
