CHANGELOG

Changelog

V-1.0

Plays with V-0.9 and V-0.9.1.

Bosses:

  • The lobby's host can spawn a boss: type /boss NAME HEALTH in the chat (for example /boss minos 100k), and /boss end removes it. The host is reminded in the chat when a match starts.
  • GABRIEL (his second fight) is an event boss, as big as MINOS PRIME.
  • Bosses no longer freeze after being hit or switching targets, come back when they fall out of the map or sink into the ground, finish their attack before going for someone else, and go for someone else after a kill.
  • Everyone hears the boss's voice lines. Only the chased player's game makes its attacks: no more damage, parries or style from someone else's fight.
  • If the chased player's game doesn't answer (an older version, still loading), the boss goes for someone else.
  • No healing while a boss event lasts.
  • In a timed match the clock stops during a boss event instead of ending the match.
  • MINOS PRIME is bigger. V2 is no longer an event boss.

New map:

  • PANOPTICON: the arena of the Flesh Panopticon and Sisyphus Prime from P-2 (VERSUS).

Spawn protection:

  • In VERSUS and ARMS RACE, after respawning you take no damage for 1.5 seconds, until you move or shoot. A blue aura at the edges of your screen shows it; others see you glow like an enemy blessed by an Idol. The host sets it in PVP OPTIONS > MATCH.

CORE TAG:

  • Whoever has a core lands close punches that are a bit off, and right next to someone even with their back to them.
  • Freezeframe rockets pass the core too.
  • Without a core, the Whiplash needs 1.5 seconds after it catches something; a circle at the bottom of the screen shows when it's ready.

Customize:

  • New skins by fiorexr: LOVELY WINGS (win a game of CORE TAG) and BLACK 100% (defeat 100 event bosses with 25K health or more).
  • The V1 PLUSHIE is unlocked for everyone (it pops up the first time you open CUSTOMIZE).

Maps and menus:

  • VERDANT RUINS and SUNKEN SPIRAL have the weapon console and the jukebox.
  • No jukebox in ARMS RACE: the music vote picks the song.
  • The PVP menu's lobby list no longer has the GIFs.

V-0.9.1

Hotfix. Plays with V-0.9.

Boss events:

  • Everyone in the lobby sees the boss and can hit it (before, only the host did).
  • The boss hurts in CORE TAG too.
  • Dying to the boss doesn't count: no deaths on the scoreboard, no lives lost, nothing in ARMS RACE.
  • The boss doesn't chase or hurt players who are spectating, and only goes for players who are in the map (not in the menu or still loading).
  • When it dies, VICTORY shows a table of the event: most damage, most deaths, the last hit, and everyone's damage, deaths and time chased.

Fixes:

  • CORE TAG: the song kept playing after someone won, and during the next music vote.
  • A map no longer fails to load when the game's settings file is busy for a moment.

V-0.9

New mode:

  • CORE TAG: some players get a core on their head that blows up at a random time; punch someone to pass it. The last one alive wins. Fists, Whiplash and the Freezeframe only, and nothing hurts except the core and falling. Whoever has a core moves faster in everything (run, air, dash, slide, Whiplash, wall run) and gets the dash back sooner. There are whiplash orbs all over the map, and it starts with the music vote, like ARMS RACE.
  • CORE TAG maps: VERDANT RUINS, SUNKEN SPIRAL, BURNING ARENA, NO MAN'S LAND and FERRYMAN'S SHIP.

New maps:

  • VERDANT RUINS: a green valley with a ruined temple, a tower and mountains, under a glass dome.
  • SUNKEN SPIRAL: a desert canyon going down in rings to a pyramid, with ledges to run along its wall.
  • Both in VERSUS and CORE TAG.

New PVP menu:

  • Every lobby in a list with its map's clip; pick one to see who is in and the host's rules. JOIN BY ID, CREATE LOBBY and EPIC / STEAM are on the same page.
  • In a lobby, its own page: the host picks the mode and the map, everyone sees who is in and chats.
  • CUSTOMIZE is in the PVP menu now.

Players, kick and report:

  • PLAYERS IN THE LOBBY in the pause menu, for everyone. The host can KICK from there or from the lobby page, and a kicked player can't come back to that lobby, even if the host changes. UNKICK lets them back.
  • REPORT: report a player from the PLAYERS page or the lobby page. Tick what they did, write what happened and it goes to the mod's author.
  • The mod's author can ban players for a while (the 3rd ban is forever); a banned player sees how long is left when pressing PVP.
  • The mod's author can run events in a lobby: a message on screen, or one of the game's bosses for everyone to fight together, with its own music. Players can't hurt each other while it lives. Everyone sees who sent it.

Movement and combat:

  • WALL RUN: jump at a wall and hold jump to run along it, Titanfall style. Tap jump to kick off and keep your speed. On in CORE TAG; the host can turn it on or off for any mode in PVP OPTIONS > RULES.
  • Speed effect: speed lines at the edges of the screen, a wider view and a light shake when you go very fast. On in CORE TAG; the host can turn it on or off for any mode in PVP OPTIONS > RULES.
  • SCREWDRIVER: parry it with the Feedbacker as it reaches you, and if it sticks in you, rip it out with the Knuckleblaster and throw it back like a dart.
  • Knuckleblaster blast: holding the punch with the red arm knocks every nail and magnet off your body, with a clatter.
  • JumpStart: the zapper charges twice as fast on players, sawblades conduct twice as much and nails conduct too.
  • Burning: players set on fire by gasoline now visibly burn, and you see the flames too.

Controls:

  • OPTIONS > PVP CONTROLS: every key of the mod on its own page.
  • WHIPLASH CLASH: set an extra key (or mouse button) to mash in OPTIONS > PVP CONTROLS; your Whiplash key still works.
  • Controller players can turn on auto-aim in PVP in OPTIONS > ASSIST (0% to 20%). It only works while you play with the controller.
  • Controllers can reach PVP OPTIONS in the pause menu and use the tablets (sticks move the finger, A taps, B goes back).

Fixes:

  • On some ULTRAKILL builds the mod failed to start half of its features (for example, bots took no damage).
  • After pausing in a lobby, the fist stayed off until you changed arms.
  • The mouse is free in the pause menu during the music and mode votes.
  • In CLIMAX, the waiting hall was upside down if the match ended with the gravity flipped.
  • Tapping a card on the tablet sometimes hit the one in the middle instead of the one you pointed at.

V-0.8

New map:

  • FERRYMAN'S SHIP: all of 5-2 with the Ferryman's ship raised, alone in a stormy sea, in VERSUS and ARMS RACE. Speed belts run along every edge of the ship (two lanes, one each way) and jump pads on platforms by the hull take you up to the roofs. The sea kills.

MAPS page:

  • New page: every map in a carousel, newest first, with a short clip of each one playing in the middle. Arrows, the mouse wheel or the left and right keys turn it, and a row of small pictures under it jumps straight to a map. Put the mouse on the map in the middle and it opens wide to show more of it, with its recommended players.
  • Pick a map, then PLAY VERSUS or PLAY ARMS RACE: no more mode tabs. Each map has a short description.
  • CUSTOM LEVELS works the same way, with < PVP MAPS to go back.
  • On the left: PVP MECHANICS (clips of how the mod's mechanics work, with NEW on what changed), DISCORD and CREDITS.

Votes:

  • The map vote is on a tablet in your hands, BODYCAM style: your V1 points at it and taps the map you want. The mode vote in the waiting hall and the ARMS RACE music vote are on the tablet too, with their own tap and result sounds.
  • The tablet shows everyone's pictures on the maps they voted.
  • The host can start a vote for a new map from the pause menu (MATCH > VOTE FOR A NEW MAP). A tie is decided by duels and a roulette; if the winner has both modes, a second vote picks VERSUS or ARMS RACE.

PVP OPTIONS:

  • PVP OPTIONS are on the tablet: drag the bars. Everyone can open LOBBY SETTINGS from the pause menu to see the host's settings.
  • MORE SPECIFIC NERF sets the damage of every weapon and variant, from the PIERCER to the ground slam, in multiplier or in damage. FURTHER SPECIFIC OPTIONS change head, body, limbs or explosions where they apply. ARMS & MORE also has the timing of the coin's red flash.
  • PRESETS: save the settings and load them again in one tap.
  • NAMETAGS: the host can hide the rivals' name tags. SHARE BLOOD is gone (blood is always shared).
  • Respawn is instant. RESPAWN TIME is gone.

Kill feed and chat:

  • Kill feed in the top right corner: everyone's pictures, the weapon they had out (in its variant's color) and an icon of how (coin, explosion, ground slam, parry, fall...). A WHIPLASH CLASH shows there too.
  • Emojis in the chat: paste them, use Win + . or type :sob:, :skull:, :fire:...

Lobbies:

  • GitHub version: EPIC / STEAM in the LOBBY panel. STEAM lobbies are the ones the Thunderstore version uses, so you can play with those players too.
  • The lobby list shows each lobby's mode (VERSUS - WAITING HALL, FIRST TO 20 - TEAMS, ARMS RACE...).
  • SPECTATE in the teams panel.
  • Joining a match already going shows everyone's kills and deaths so far.
  • If you can't reach the host for 20 seconds, you leave the lobby with a message about what may be blocking it (VPN, firewall, antivirus) instead of staying stuck. This also stops one stuck player from breaking the lobby for everyone.
  • 24 hours without touching anything in a lobby takes you out of it.

Customize:

  • New accessories: the HAKITA and PITR plushies (with a code, thanks for 1K downloads) and the V1 PLUSHIE (it unlocks when the GitHub repository reaches 15 stars). A code now shows what you got in a small card.
  • Long texts (what unlocks a skin) no longer go off the panel.

Gameplay:

  • Coins work the same in every mode: in ARMS RACE they also hang for half a second before they fire.
  • Assists are fully off in PVP: major assists and auto-aim. The ASSIST options page is crossed out on PVP maps.
  • Online, the pause menu no longer freezes the game for you: you keep falling and things keep moving, you just can't act until you close it.
  • Breaking glass and other breakable things happens for everyone, also for players who join later.
  • CHESS: dying with a piece in your hands puts it back on its square, loose pieces go back by themselves, and the sign says whose turn it is.

Maps:

  • CLIMAX's gravity flips again.
  • More FPS in HARBOR LIGHTS and CYBER GRIND: lights far from you are off until you get closer (Display > Turn off far lights).
  • GRAND HALL: the red exit door at the end is walled up with the hall's own marble.
  • NO MAN'S LAND: the frames of the portals no longer look broken.
  • The jukebox is the Cyber Grind terminal, with a sign on top, and its songs no longer jump to the start of a random part after the game was in the background.

Fixed:

  • Respawning after dying with the pause menu open left you stuck in place.
  • HIDE HUD now says which key brings it back, no longer turns on when you vote YES right as a vote ends, and also hides the weapons' charge meters.

Credits:

  • CREDITS on the MAPS page. HASHEMELBAD and R4NDOMPER5ON join KAMERADE in AUDIO DESIGN.

Thunderstore version:

  • It no longer restarts the game by itself: when mods change, it tells you to close the game and start it again from your mod manager.

V-0.7

Custom levels:

  • With Angry Level Loader installed, MAPS has a CUSTOM LEVELS tab with the levels you have, and LOAD LEVEL FILE adds a .angry file from your PC. The host picks one and everyone plays it in VERSUS. Enemies, arenas and the end of the level are turned off.
  • Everyone needs the same level file. A player who doesn't have it, or has another version, is told which level to get and stays out.
  • Level makers can put empty objects named PVP Spawn where players should appear.

Maps:

  • NO MAN'S LAND uses the game's own portals: you see through them like in the game, and every projectile, the whiplash, coins and gasoline go through them. The map also loads about a second and a half faster.
  • CYBER GRIND looks the same for everyone. It used to take each player's own Cyber Grind theme, textures and fog.
  • The waiting hall looks the same in CYBER GRIND as on the other maps. It used to be darker there.
  • PIANO ROOM: the weapon console is a little further from the edge of the stage.
  • ARMS RACE bots get around better in BURNING ARENA, HARBOR LIGHTS and CYBER GRIND.

New:

  • Winning a round ends with a big VICTORY (DRAW on a tie) and its own sound, which everyone hears, before the winner card.
  • Cheats are off on every PVP map, also in VERSUS and in the waiting hall. The host can allow them with ALLOW CHEATS in PVP OPTIONS.
  • The lobby list has KICK for the host (click twice) and MUTE for everyone (hides that player's chat for you). A kicked player can only come back with an invite.
  • The host gets a warning when a player keeps taking hits without losing health (god mode). Kick god mode = true in the config kicks them instead.
  • Every PVP key can be changed in the config file, under [Controls].
  • Connect at startup = false in the config makes the mod log in to Epic only when you press PVP.

Changed:

  • Mod check: known mods are on a list, and the others are checked by what they patch. The popup tells you to turn the incompatible ones off in your mod manager and restart. The mod no longer renames other mods' files.
  • Going back to the waiting hall stops the song someone picked and plays TAKE CARE again.
  • Another player's parry no longer freezes your game for a moment.
  • Leaving a match and coming back keeps your kills and deaths, so it doesn't give you lives back.
  • The rivals panel uses the same weapon names as the kill feed.
  • Esc closes the PVP popups.
  • The PLAYERS ONLINE counter in the main menu is gone. The mod sends no player count and no analytics.
  • Many fixes against cheating and fake or broken network messages (damage limits per weapon, limits on effects, names and chat without hidden characters).
  • If the in-game UPDATE gets a file that doesn't match its signature, it tells you not to install it by hand.
  • The Thunderstore version only uses Steam lobbies now (public list, JOIN BY ID, invites, KICK and MUTE, and a new host if the host leaves). It doesn't play with the GitHub version, which still uses Epic.

Fixed:

  • The fire of another player's gasoline or napalm hurt you while you were spectating.
  • Errors in the log when the game went from the intro to the main menu.

V-0.6.1

Match modes (VERSUS):

  • In FIRST TO X KILLS, TIME LIMIT and LAST ONE STANDING, going to spectate during a round keeps you out until the next round, so nobody can hide. Turning off PVP ENABLED in the middle of a round asks for a second click. The scoreboard shows OUT next to them.
  • Joining a match that already started puts you in as a player, also when you come back. In LAST ONE STANDING you spectate until the next round instead, unless the round started with fewer than 2 players.
  • LAST ONE STANDING with teams: each team's row on the scoreboard shows the lives it has left.
  • The jukebox song stops when someone wins a round.
  • New pictures on the vote cards.

Changed:

  • The Knuckleblaster can't parry anymore. The host can turn it back on with KNUCKLEBLASTER PARRY in PVP OPTIONS.
  • Chat works anywhere while you are in a lobby: the main menu, the menu pages and normal levels, not only the PVP map.
  • The waiting hall looks the same on every map. The light and fog of some maps used to tint it.

Fixed:

  • CYBER GRIND: respawning while the grid was shifting could leave you stuck under the cubes.
  • ARMS RACE bots could get stuck in a corner of CYBER GRIND with no way out.
  • PVP ENABLED stayed off after leaving a map as a spectator.

V-0.6

Match modes (VERSUS):

  • VERSUS has a way to win now. In the waiting hall everyone votes the mode: FREE FOR ALL, FIRST TO X KILLS, TIME LIMIT or LAST ONE STANDING, and then TEAMS or NO TEAMS. Click a card or press 1-4. A vote closes as soon as everyone has voted, and a tie is settled by a roulette.
  • The host sets the number on the MATCH OPTIONS screen after the vote, or later from the new MATCH box in the pause menu: KILLS TO WIN (5-100, 20 by default), TIME LIMIT (1-30 minutes, 10) or LIVES (1-10, 3). Changing it during the fight restarts the match.
  • FIRST TO X KILLS: kills count per team. TIME LIMIT: the most kills wins, and a tie goes to SUDDEN DEATH until someone leads. LAST ONE STANDING: with no lives left you spectate until the next round, and the last player or team alive wins. It needs 2 players or more, and anyone who joins in the middle of a round waits as a spectator.
  • The scoreboard shows the mode: kills to win, time left, or who is still alive and their lives.
  • After a win comes the winner screen and then one more vote: PLAY AGAIN starts the same mode at once with the score at zero, CHANGE MODE goes back to the waiting hall.
  • With NO TEAMS nobody picks a team that round. With TEAMS everyone is in one: if you don't pick, you go to RED or BLUE, whichever has fewer players. The team panel opens by itself and you can click a team.
  • During the fight the host can ask to GO BACK TO THE WAITING HALL. Everyone has 20 seconds to vote with F1 (yes) or F2 (no), and it passes when all but one say yes (both, with 2 players).

CYBER GRIND:

  • The grid shifts like in the real Cyber Grind. Every 12 kills the cubes rise and sink into new patterns, the old stairs and jump pads go down and new ones come up. The plaza in the middle stays.
  • Brighter, and the grid changes colour with every shift: blue, green, yellow, red, then rainbow.

CLIMAX:

  • The inverted gravity counts on the whole map. If you are out in the middle when it flips, you fall into space. Every flip has a 4 second warning with a countdown and its own sound.
  • You can jump as high as you want both ways. Only falling out the bottom kills (out the top with inverted gravity), and you can land on the outside of the ceiling. Anyone still outside dies on the next flip.

New:

  • If the host leaves, the match goes on: the player who has been in the lobby longest becomes the host.
  • Waiting hall: new statues with the Ultrakill-PVP logo.
  • MAPS: an UPDATED tag on CLIMAX, HARBOR LIGHTS and CYBER GRIND.

Changed:

  • Nails from the nailguns can't be parried anymore. Saws still can.
  • Coins never bounce to a teammate.
  • Better FPS all around, mostly with rockets and napalm (the big stutters are gone), bots, CYBER GRIND and busy lobbies.
  • Mod check: Preloading_Splash, FOV_Changer and SpawnerArmExtras are allowed.

Fixed:

  • Playing on HARMLESS or LENIENT gave you 200 health in PVP. Everyone gets the same health now.
  • GRAND HALL: parts of 7-3 outside the hall turned back on a few seconds after the map loaded.
  • CYBER GRIND: every stair threw an error when it finished rising.
  • The mod no longer writes debug files into the BepInEx folder.

V-0.5

New map:

  • CYBER GRIND (VERSUS and ARMS RACE): the Cyber Grind four times wider. Sixteen of its patterns side by side, with their stairs and jump pads, and a flat plaza in the middle with a weapon console and a jukebox. No waves come, dying just sends you back to a spawn, and no score is saved. Made for 6-8 players.

HARBOR LIGHTS:

  • The water is gone. Stone causeways with lamps join the rocks of each path, so you walk from the lighthouse out to the far rocks, and the storm from the Leviathan fight rains over the whole map, with lightning and thunder.
  • ARMS RACE bots walk the causeways instead of swimming.

New:

  • SPLATTER: ground slam onto a player stunned by a whiplash clash and they burst, with a lot of blood. It always kills.
  • PVP OPTIONS: HEAL RATE, from 0x to 2x, for blood and parries. FULL HEAL ON KILL doesn't change.
  • Pause menu: an INVITE box at the bottom right. STEAM INVITE does the same as F6, and the host can make the lobby public or private from there without leaving the match.
  • While you are in a lobby, IN LOBBY and the player count stay at the top right of the menus.
  • "<name> joined the game" shows when someone arrives on your map. "Joined the lobby" only goes to the log now.
  • Mod check when you press PVP: mods that change health, movement, weapons, damage, parries or the game speed show as NOT COMPATIBLE. Untick them and press RESTART NOW to turn them off. With one of them on you can't play PVP, and if one is turned on during a match you leave it. Visual mods are fine.
  • The NEW UPDATE AVAILABLE box has a DISCORD button.
  • MAPS: new maps have a NEW tag on their picture.

Changed:

  • Whiplash clash: a new look, with a parry flash and a big CLASH. The loser stays stunned for 1.8 seconds (it was 1.2), the winner can't be hurt by players for 1.5 seconds and gets a style bonus, and nobody can fire during the clash or while stunned.
  • Shotgun parry: parrying one pellet of a shotgun blast stops the whole blast, and the shooter gets one parry hit as big as the blast (SHOTGUN PARRY).
  • Saws from the sawblade launchers can be parried back as projectiles.
  • COIN DAMAGE counts every shot that goes through a coin now: railcannon, charged revolver and the rest, not only the normal revolver.
  • Dead Star (rockets frozen until they turn blue, then blown up): at most 70 damage to one player.
  • Hitting a core or a rocket with the jackhammer: at most 35 damage, the same as the core exploding by itself (it was 70 from any distance).
  • Nailguns, every PVP mode: ATTRACTOR has twice the nails and recharges twice as fast, and OVERHEAT and JUMPSTART fire as fast as ATTRACTOR.
  • Sawblade launchers, ARMS RACE: ATTRACTOR has 20 saws and recharges twice as fast, and OVERHEAT and JUMPSTART fire as fast as ATTRACTOR.
  • Waiting hall: no wall jumps.

Fixed:

  • RESTART NOW and the update restart reopened the game without the r2modman or Thunderstore profile it was started with. They keep it now.
  • When Epic can't log in because the Windows Credential Manager service is off, the game says so instead of just failing.

V-0.4.1

Fixed:

  • HARBOR LIGHTS, ARMS RACE: everyone started and came back on the island, right on top of each other. Players and bots start spread over the four paths now, like in VERSUS, and the bots swim from rock to rock down to the lighthouse.
  • GRAND HALL: in a 1 v 1 the two players start at opposite ends of the hall, facing each other.

V-0.4

New maps:

  • GRAND HALL (VERSUS): the white hall at the end of 7-3, with the stairs up to the side galleries and the bridge in the middle. Made for 1 v 1.
  • HARBOR LIGHTS (VERSUS and ARMS RACE): the path of green lamps from the start of 5-4, four times over. The four paths meet at an island with a lighthouse that can be seen from anywhere, with a spiral stair up to the lantern. A DUAL WIELD waits up there: 30 seconds with a second weapon, and it comes back a minute after someone takes it, with a foghorn so everyone knows. It is all under water like in the level, but fire still burns and electricity doesn't shock the one who shoots. Made for 6-8 players.

New in VERSUS:

  • Preparation time. When a map loads everyone starts in a dark waiting hall, the same one for every map: 8 weapon consoles along the sides, a jukebox on the stage, and a parkour that spirals from the balcony up to a relic near the roof (taking it tells you your time). Weapons can't be fired in there, so nobody rockets their way up, and a slam jump is only a normal jump; the arms still work. You get a minute and a half to pick weapons, with a clock at the top of the screen and on the wall. Nobody can be hurt until it runs out, then everyone goes to their spawn in the map and the fight starts. Joining or restarting after that puts you straight into the fight. Press F2 to vote START NOW: the fight starts as soon as everyone but one has voted. TAKE CARE plays while you get ready, until the fight starts or someone picks another song in the jukebox.
  • Teams, up to 4: RED, BLUE, GREEN and YELLOW. In the waiting hall there are four colored pads on the floor, two on each side: step on one to join that team. F3 opens the team list, where you can also pick with 1-4 (0 leaves your team). Teammates can't hurt each other, name tags take the team color and the scoreboard adds up the kills of each team. F3 also works during the fight, to pick a team or change it, but only once a minute. Nobody has to pick one: without a team you fight alone.
  • NEGATIVE, a new BODY and WINGS for CUSTOMIZE > CLOTHES: the V1 with its light and dark swapped. It unlocks by taking the relic at the top of the parkour in the waiting hall. Made by fiorexr.
  • FULL LOOK has every set now: GRAY MENACE and NEGATIVE put on their body and wings in one pick, with the same unlock as their parts.
  • GABRIEL has a WINGS box in FULL LOOK. Untick it and he wears only the armor and the swords: no wings, no halo and no blue trail.

Changed:

  • The warning sound of a coin about to fire is as loud for everyone, wherever they are. Coins give it in ARMS RACE too, where they still fire at once.
  • PVP OPTIONS: COIN DAMAGE, a damage multiplier only for coin shots, next to the other DAMAGE ones. 0.5x halves them.
  • Style in every PVP mode: the meter was built for killing crowds, so against players it never got far. Hits on players count for more, a kill gives a KILL bonus, the meter drains slower and weapons don't go stale, so a long streak without dying can reach ULTRAKILL now. Dying still resets it.
  • MAPS: every map card opens with the same animation when you change tab, and ULTRAKILL ARENA shows a single COMING SOON instead of one on each map.
  • ARMS RACE, every map: healing is halved. Blood gives half the health it used to, and a parry heals half the bar instead of all of it.
  • The NEW UPDATE AVAILABLE box has a GITHUB button next to UPDATE, for those who want to download the zip themselves. UPDATE still installs it from inside the game.

Fixed:

  • With Configgy installed, the tabs on the left of MAPS and CUSTOMIZE no longer overlap.
  • A dash jump done while the game froze for a hit or a parry went straight up and still used the stamina. It keeps the dash speed now.
  • Punching a saw right before it hit you sent damage back to its owner, wherever they were. Saws can only be parried as projectiles now.
  • The SCREWDRIVER kept drilling after the player it was in died, or after its owner died. It comes out now.
  • NO MAN'S LAND: a secret door in the white station opened on its own and let you into a dark room that was meant to stay closed. It stays shut now.
  • NO MAN'S LAND: the terminal on the golden pagoda at the start of the level is gone.
  • The PLAYERS ONLINE number in the main menu could stay behind, for example after the host left a match and everyone went back to the menu. It follows the people coming and going now, and it is checked again every time the menu opens.

V-0.3

Added:

  • CUSTOMIZE > CLOTHES, with three parts: BODY, WINGS and FULL LOOK. Locked items show what you need to unlock them.
  • GRAY MENACE, made by fiorexr: a gray steel body with red marks and gray wings without glow, wear one or both. It unlocks after 3 ARMS RACE wins in matches with at least 6 players and no bots.
  • GABRIEL (FULL LOOK): the Judge of Hell himself. In a match he moves like a V1, holds your weapon, and shots hit him where they would hit a V1. It unlocks after 62 ARMS RACE wins.
  • ARMS RACE: REROLL in the music vote. It counts like any other option: if it has the most votes when the time runs out, 4 new songs come up and everyone votes again. A tie with a song goes to the roulette. Up to 2 rerolls per vote.
  • CUSTOMIZE > CODES: type a code there to unlock things.
  • A list of who is spectating, on the left of the screen. Each name has its own color.

Changed:

  • CLOTHES and ACCESSORIES show every item as a tile with its picture. The description of the selected one stays below.
  • ARMS RACE: NO MUSIC is a small option under the songs now (key 0). REROLL took its place (key 5).
  • ARMS RACE: in the music vote, the song you voted for keeps playing when the mouse leaves the cards.
  • BUNNY EARS come with a code now (CUSTOMIZE > CODES). If you were wearing them, enter the code to get them back.
  • ARMS RACE: when the music vote ends in a tie, a quick roulette picks one of the tied songs, the same for everyone. If nobody votes, it picks one of the 4 songs the same way.
  • ARMS RACE: a bot takes the place of anyone who switches to spectator or leaves the match (also to the main menu), and goes away when they come back. With ARMS RACE BOTS on OFF there are still no bots.
  • ARMS RACE: the Konami code can't turn cheats on.
  • ARMS RACE: bots land about 30% fewer shots.
  • The update notice shows up when you press PVP, not as soon as the game starts.
  • PVP OPTIONS is laid out in two columns (MATCH and DAMAGE), with more room between the rows.

Fixed:

  • Players who left a match stayed on the leaderboard as "PLAYER".
  • While spectating, your weapon and arm still showed and could be used.
  • NO MAN'S LAND: the church door is locked for everyone, so nobody can get to the Jackhammer behind it.
  • NO MAN'S LAND: a few portals were buried inside hills. They stand in the open now.

V-0.2

New mode:

  • ARMS RACE, on BURNING ARENA and NO MAN'S LAND. Everyone starts with the same weapon and every kill gives you the next one. All 24 weapons, from the easiest to kill with to the hardest, and then your fists. On the last level one punch kills, and the first punch kill wins.
  • Killing someone with your arms (punch, parry, whiplash) steals a level from them.
  • 3 kills in a row give you your health back.
  • Bots fill the lobby up to 8 players, so you can also play it alone. PVP OPTIONS > ARMS RACE BOTS changes how many.
  • Before every round there's a music vote: 4 random songs from the soundtrack or no music. Hover a song to hear a bit of it, click it (or press 1-5) to vote, and everyone's picture shows up on the song they picked. The most voted one plays. Nobody can move or shoot until the vote ends.
  • The winner shows up big in the middle of the screen with their picture, confetti and party horns, and the vote for the next round comes right after.
  • No weapon console or jukebox in ARMS RACE: your level picks your weapon and the vote picks the music.
  • The leaderboard with everyone's level and weapon is on the left. The leader's name is gold, there and over their head.
  • Messages tell everyone who took the lead, who stole a level and who's on the last level.

New map:

  • NO MAN'S LAND: all of 7-2 at night, without enemies, for VERSUS and ARMS RACE. Portals all over the black sand link the far corners of the map and the halls of the white tram station, and every spawn has one close by. You see, shoot and slide through them, and bots use them too. The blood river kills. Best with 6-8 players.

Added:

  • PVP OPTIONS > FULL HEAL ON KILL: every kill gives you your health back. Off by default, works in every mode.
  • CUSTOMIZE > ACCESSORIES, with the first one: BUNNY EARS, a gift for the early players. Everyone in the lobby sees what your V1 wears.
  • Hammer clash: when two players (or a player and a bot) hit each other with the Jackhammer at the same time, both get launched away like after a full-speed hammer hit.

Changed:

  • The MAPS page shows the maps in three columns and everything fits on the screen. In ARMS RACE it only shows the maps you can play it on, and hovering a map shows a tip for it instead of how many players it's made for.
  • VERSUS: every coin you shoot hangs in the air and flashes red for half a second before the ricochet, like V2's coins in 4-4. Rivals can get out of sight, or shoot your coin first and send it back to you.
  • With many players, the rivals' health panels on the left get smaller.
  • While you type in the chat your character stands still: no moving, shooting or looking around.
  • The chat has a solid background and draws on top of the HUD and your weapon. Long messages show their end while you type.
  • BURNING ARENA has 16 spawn points, 4 in each wing. Before, most of them were in the west wing.
  • You respawn at a random spawn that no one can see and that is away from everyone, instead of always the farthest one. When a round starts, everyone gets a different spawn.
  • When you die, the shots you still had flying or stuck (rockets, cannonballs, saws, screwdrivers, magnets...) disappear and can't hurt anyone. Bots too. Fire from someone who died stops hurting.
  • Dying resets your style meter.
  • Explosions from other players' rockets and grenades no longer cause small stutters.
  • Kill messages, respawns and parried shots no longer cause a small stutter on the big maps.
  • Leaving a lobby and joining it again could fail with a disconnection. Now it works, and if the connection with the host drops for a moment you reconnect instead of being kicked out of the lobby.
  • If you quit a match to the main menu but stay in the lobby, JOIN THE MATCH in the lobby panel (or clicking the match's map) takes you back in.
  • Closing the game while in a lobby leaves it properly, so you can join again right after restarting.
  • Long names and lobby IDs fit in the lobby panel.

Not compatible with V-0.1, everyone in the lobby has to update.

V-0.1

New maps:

  • CLIMAX: the Space Tree arena from 8-3, bigger and floating in space. Every now and then the gravity flips and everyone ends up fighting on the ceiling.
  • PIANO ROOM: the organ hall from 6-2, without Gabriel.
  • BURNING ARENA: all of 4-2 without enemies. Stay off the sand, it burns. Best with 6-8 players.

Added:

  • Chat in matches (T).
  • Jukebox next to the weapon console in every map, with the whole soundtrack. Songs play for the whole lobby.
  • The main menu shows how many players are online.
  • Update notice in the main menu when a new version is out.
  • MAPS page: hovering a map plays a VHS glitch and shows how many players it's made for.

Changed:

  • WHITE SPACE and CHESS have one weapon console instead of two.

Not compatible with V-0.0.4, everyone in the lobby has to update.

V-0.0.4

  • Online through Epic Online Services: no Steam needed anymore, and Steam and non-Steam players can play together. You don't need an Epic account.
  • Public and private lobbies. Every lobby has a short ID you can copy and share (JOIN BY ID).
  • Profiles: pick your picture (or use your Steam one) and your name in CUSTOMIZE > PROFILE.
  • Whiplash clash: when two whiplashes hit each other both players get locked. Mash whiplash to win, the loser gets stunned.
  • The MAPS page lists the game modes: VERSUS, plus ULTRAKILL ARENA and ARMS RACE (coming soon).
  • CHESS: choose who plays white and black from the console, check and checkmate are announced, and the promotion menu shows up in front of the pawn.
  • Fixed your arm staying hidden after leaving spectator mode.
  • The zip now has EOSSDK-Win64-Shipping.dll too. Keep it next to Ultrakill-PVP.dll.

V-0.0.3

  • CUSTOMIZE menu: change the colors of your V1 (body, wings and lights). Everyone in the lobby sees them.
  • New MAPS page with bodycam previews of every map.
  • Parried rockets, cores, cannonballs and chainsaws now always fly back properly online.
  • Launched chainsaws can be parried too.
  • Fixed sliding players sinking into the floor for everyone else.

V-0.0.2.1

  • Fixed damage: every hit counts now. Before, a shotgun blast only did one pellet's damage.
  • Spectator camera: turn off PVP ENABLED in the pause menu to fly around or follow players.
  • F1 hides the HUD. New SPECTATOR & HUD page in the pause menu.

V-0.0.2

  • Projectile parry: punch a rival's rocket, core, cannonball or chainsaw right before it hits you and it's yours. It can go back and forth, getting stronger every time.
  • A chainsaw stuck in a player grinds for 5 seconds and then explodes. Only a Knuckleblaster punch pulls it out.
  • Blood is shared, with NO BLOOD and CLEAR BLOOD options.
  • Your rivals' health, style rank and damage to you on the left of the screen.
  • Steam invites from the lobby panel work now, plus a STEAM INVITE button.
  • CHESS (experimental): only the Museum's main courtyard is playable.
  • WHITE SPACE is light grey instead of blinding white.
  • F11: sparring, the mirror dummy's projectiles hurt you.
  • The game opens on your main monitor.

V-0.0.1

First release.

  • PVP with every weapon and arm: headshots, parries, coins and whiplash all work against players.
  • Two maps: WHITE SPACE and CHESS (experimental).
  • Steam lobbies with friend invites.
  • Kills and deaths scoreboard, weapon consoles in every map, and host options for health, dash and damage.
  • Your save and your loadout are never touched.
  • Mirror dummy to practice when you're alone (F9 places it, F10 freezes it).
