LetMeBuild
A small Valheim BepInEx mod that removes crafting-station requirements from everything in the vanilla Hammer build table.
What it does
With LetMeBuild enabled, Hammer pieces no longer require a nearby:
- Workbench
- Stonecutter
- Forge
- Artisan Table
- Black Forge
- Galdr Table / Mage Table
- or another crafting station assigned to that Hammer piece
You still need the normal build materials.
LetMeBuild deliberately does not replace Valheim's resource checks or resource consumption. This means mods that already allow building from nearby containers can continue to provide those materials through their own normal hooks.
What it does not do
- does not enable
nobuildcost - does not unlock undiscovered pieces
- does not ignore wards or no-build zones
- does not change structural support
- does not change placement restrictions
- does not provide materials from containers by itself
- does not affect crafting recipes in station UIs
- does not intentionally modify Hoe/Cultivator piece tables
Modded Hammer pieces
The Hammer piece table is rescanned periodically. Pieces added to the standard Hammer by other mods are picked up automatically and have their station requirement removed as well.
Compatibility with craft/build-from-containers mods
The mod only changes the Hammer piece's required CraftingStation reference. Material checks and material consumption remain untouched. This is intentional so mods such as craft/build-from-containers systems can keep handling inventory + chest materials themselves.
Configuration

BepInEx/config/uk.ainzworth.valheim.letmebuild.cfg
[General]
Enabled = true
Scan Interval Seconds = 1.0
Log Changes = false
Build
From PowerShell:
Get-ChildItem -Recurse | Unblock-File
.\build.ps1 -Install
Default Valheim path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim
Override it with:
.\build.ps1 -ValheimDir "D:\Games\Valheim" -Install
Technical approach
LetMeBuild resolves the current Hammer item from ObjectDB, reads its PieceTable, and sets Piece.m_craftingStation to null for pieces registered in that table. Original values are tracked and restored if the plugin is disabled/unloaded during the session.
