Hel Resurrection

Bring your friends back from the underworld.

Hold the interact key at a fallen friend's gravestone to pray and enter the underworld. Find them resting on the altar and hold interact to revive them.

Once revived, you can explore the hall together, meet Hel on her throne, and return through the portal to the gravestone. Your equipment remains in the grave.

The atmospheric soundtrack The Threshold of Hel starts when you enter Hel's hall and fades out when you leave. It follows the game's music and master volume settings.

Hel uses a detailed, rigged dark angel model, seated on her throne with her hands resting on the armrests. Her larger figure fits the throne, with a slightly more visible breathing motion while her hands remain resting in place. Her head slowly turns toward the nearest living player, and returns to its resting pose when nobody is close.

Approach Hel and aim at her body to choose Talk and hear her spoken reply. Her voice follows the sound effects volume setting. You cannot climb or jump onto Hel. Striking her costs the attacker 1 HP, but never reduces health below 1 HP.

Prayer at the grave and revival at the altar each have their own ritual sound. Interrupting either ritual quickly fades its sound out. Both follow the sound effects volume setting.

Nearby friends can hear the prayer and revival chanting too. Ritual sounds fade with distance and at the end of the ritual.

Living visitors are protected from damage and death inside Hel's hall, including poison brought in from outside. Normal damage resumes when you leave.

Prefer to return on your own? Hold R while waiting to respawn at your bed or default spawn point.
