README

TravelingMerchant

A wandering merchant can visit once per in-game day, at any time of day or night.

How to summon him: After five full days in your world (day 6 onwards), light an outdoor Bonfire. Have at least one player sit nearby and leave another seat free for him. Keep the approach clear. Once he sits down, approach him and press E to trade.

He sells materials you have gathered: 50 of each metal, wood or obsidian, and 20 of each advanced hide or seed type, shared across the world. Leather scraps and deer hide are available from the start. Bronze requires 50 copper and 50 tin. Existing worlds can also unlock goods from materials found during the one-time chest check.

He also sells the Wanderer's Staff, which grants you and nearby companions 5% movement speed while held in your shield hand. The effect does not stack.

CHANGELOG

0.22.13

  • Shorten the English description to the visit rules, summoning steps, material unlocks and walking staff.

0.22.12

  • Allow a new visit one full in-game day after the previous visit started.
  • Automatically migrate the previous default cooldown from 2 to 1.
  • Keep saved world progression and existing unlocks.

0.22.11

  • Invite the merchant at any time of day or night.
  • Visits last five minutes after seating, then he packs up and leaves.
  • Increase walking speed by about 27%, matching stride and staff timing to movement.
  • Add seeds, tree seeds, cones, acorns, barley and flax. Each type unlocks after collecting 20 and costs 5 gold per item, without discounts.
  • Import existing-world stored seeds once, independently of the earlier material import.
  • Preserve the five-world-day age requirement and two skipped days between visits.
  • Saved visits retain their original walking speed.

0.22.10

  • Troll hide, wolf pelt and lox pelt now unlock after collecting 20 of each type, shared across the world.
  • Keep the 50-unit requirement for metals, wood and obsidian.
  • Add optional 25-item bundles for every wood type at the same per-item price. Single-item purchases remain available.
  • Validate purchase quantities and total prices on the server.

0.22.9

  • Reduce the default harvesting requirement to 50 units per material, shared across the world.
  • Migrate the previous default setting of 100 to 50 once; preserve other custom thresholds.
  • Unlock saved progress that already meets the lower threshold when loading the world.
  • Bronze now requires 50 copper and 50 tin with the default settings.

0.22.8

  • Support buildable furniture with nested seat components, including compatible modded chairs.
  • Use actual seat attachments for orientation, height and server validation.
  • Reserve individual seats rather than every seat on a shared furniture object.
  • Allow the approach to furniture whose colliders are on its root and seats are nested inside.

0.22.7

  • Existing worlds can unlock stored materials from a one-time scan of built-in chests. New worlds retain the 100-material requirement.
  • Merchant music can recover from a missing start cue or interrupted playback.
  • Guard against invalid network references while finding bonfire seating.
