TalentForge
A passive talent tree for Valheim, in the style of a skill-tree network. Spend talent points on a map of nodes; every node you take must touch the start or a node you already own.
Talent points come from SkillsReworked: your level, the bosses you defeated and your prestige rank. How many points each one gives is configurable.
Features
- 13 branches: Swords, Knives, Axes, Maces, Bows, Crossbows, Elemental Magic, Blood Magic, Mining, Woodcutting, Farming, Cooking and Fishing. Neighbouring branches are joined by crossroads of basic attributes, so you can mix builds.
- Ranks: notable nodes take up to 3 points and keystones up to 2 (configurable).
- Effects: damage per weapon or spell school, max health / stamina / eitr, run speed, armor bonus (a percentage of the armor from your equipment), experience gained, life steal, health and stamina regeneration, elemental resistance, chance to not use ammo, pickaxe and axe damage on rocks and trees, harvest yield, food duration and fishing skill.
- A real network: pan with the mouse, zoom with the wheel toward the cursor, hover a node for its details, left click to take it, right click to refund it.
- Keystone perks: the keystone at the end of every branch carries a unique effect, for example every 5th sword hit deals extra damage, axes execute weakened enemies, mining restores stamina, cooking heals instantly and swimming costs less stamina.
- Search: a search box that highlights matching nodes.
- Totals: a panel that sums all your bonuses and previews what the node under the mouse would add.
- Builds: five slots per character, plus export and import codes to share builds.
- Languages: English and Portuguese built in; the window follows the game language and falls back to English (option Language). Add any other language with a file
TalentForge.<code>.txtin the config folder (oneEnglish text=Translationper line). - Respec any time with the button in the window.
- A Talents button in the inventory, next to Skills, and a hotkey (default
F7). - Lock to server (optional): the server keeps every player's tree and gives it back when they join.
Controls
| Action | How |

Configuration
Everything is in BepInEx/config/cronus.talentforge.cfg (or in the Configuration Manager). Values marked Synced with Server are set by the server admin:
- points per level, per boss and per prestige rank
- point cost of minor, notable and keystone nodes, and how many ranks they accept
- the value of one minor node for every effect, and the multipliers of notable and keystone nodes
- Lock talents to server
Multiplayer
Install the same version on the server and on every client. Damage, armor and resistance bonuses use the talents each player has, so everyone must have the mod.
