The Lyngvi Wardens
Four immortal skeletal Wardens who patrol, protect, resurrect, and grow stronger alongside your saga.
The Lyngvi Wardens turns four legendary undead warriors into a persistent honor guard that travels with you through Valheim.
They are not ordinary followers. During peaceful gameplay they patrol around the player instead of crowding at your feet. When combat begins, each Warden shifts into a distinct role: tank, berserker, long-range marksman, or mobile skirmisher.
Their strength scales with your character's boss progression, not the biome you happen to enter.

Version 1.2.0
Version 1.2 focuses on improving the visual and combat identity of the two ranged Wardens.
Egil Rework
- Replaced the Charred Marksman body with the normal skeleton body
- Replaced the oversized Charred longbow with a Finewood Bow appearance
- Increased his firing frequency
- Removed the constant forced flanking loop
- Greatly reduced unnecessary side-to-side movement
- Egil now relies on normal ranged AI while safely positioned
- Custom retreat behaviour only activates when enemies get too close
- Keeps his Lightning damage and close-support identity
Orvar Visual Update
- Orvar now uses the large Charred-style longbow appearance
- This better fits his identity as the dedicated long-range marksman
- The bow remains mechanically normalized for Warden balance
- Orvar does not inherit Ashlands weapon damage
Ranged Roles
The backline is now intentionally split into two different styles:
Orvar
- Longer preferred range
- Earlier retreat
- Frost
- Patient long-range marksman
Egil
- Shorter preferred range
- Faster firing
- Lightning
- More aggressive ranged support
---
Features
- Four persistent named Wardens
- Autonomous honor guard patrol behaviour
- Shared combat awareness
- Distinct combat roles
- Boss-progression-based scaling
- 20-second individual resurrection
- 2% max-health regeneration per second
- Fixed Warden loadouts
- Dungeon and interior transfer support
- Anti-stuck and emergency catch-up behaviour
- No companion loot drops
---
Progression
The Wardens scale with your character's boss kills.
| Progression | Warden Tier |
|---|---|
| No boss defeated | Meadows |
| Eikthyr defeated | Black Forest |
| The Elder defeated | Swamp |
| Bonemass defeated | Mountain |
| Moder defeated | Plains |
| Yagluth defeated | Mistlands |
| The Queen defeated | Ashlands |
| Fader defeated | Deep North |
This means entering a late-game biome early will not instantly power up the Wardens, and returning to an early biome will not weaken them.

Updating to 1.2.0
Replace the old DLL with the new 1.2.0 DLL.

As with any gameplay mod update, keeping a backup of your world before updating is recommended.
---
Compatibility
Single-player is the primary tested environment.
Hosted multiplayer and dedicated-server behaviour should currently be considered experimental.
