This mod requires the following mods to function
denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim
BepInEx pack for Valheim. Preconfigured with the correct entry point for mods and preferred defaults for the community.
Preferred version: 5.4.2333README
NaturalDay
A longer, more natural day/night cycle for Valheim.
The base game split (70% day, 30% night) is kept. Only the total length changes.
Cycle lengths
| Cycle | Day | Night |
|---|---|---|
| 30 min (base game) | 21 min | 9 min |
| 40 min | 28 min | 12 min |
| 50 min (default) | 35 min | 15 min |
| 60 min | 42 min | 18 min |
| 90 min | 63 min | 27 min |
| 120 min | 84 min | 36 min |
What to expect
- Sleeping works as usual: you wake up at dawn.
- A new world starts in the morning, like in the base game.
- Changing the length keeps the current day and time of day.
- If you shorten the cycle, the time of day is kept and the day counter goes up a little.
- Time never goes backwards, so crops, ovens and fermenters are not disturbed.
Multiplayer
- The mod is required on every player and on the server, same version.
- Only the server (or an admin) sets the length. Players cannot change it.
On-screen clock
An optional clock. It is a personal setting, so each player chooses.
You can set: show or hide, text size, font, color, and position.
In-game settings (F1)
To change settings in game, install a configuration manager. Recommended: shudnal ConfigurationManager. Then press F1.
Without it, close the game and edit BepInEx/config/Ghoosty.NaturalDay.cfg.
The setting names in game are in French:
| Section | Setting |
|---|---|
2 - Cycle |
Durée du cycle (minutes) |
3 - Horloge |
Afficher, Taille du texte, Police, Couleur, Position X, Position Y |
Good to know
Uninstalling the mod makes the day counter jump. Valheim works out the day from the world time.
CHANGELOG
0.1.1
- Detailed README in English and French.
- README now recommends a configuration manager (shudnal ConfigurationManager) for in-game settings (F1).
- No gameplay change; the DLL is identical to 0.1.0.
0.1.0
- First release.
- Longer day/night cycle (30, 40, 50, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, default 50) with the vanilla 70% day / 30% night split.
- Changing the length keeps the current day and time of day; a shortened cycle keeps the time and raises the day counter.
