README

Double Dragon Bed

The dragon bed is wide enough for two. Now it is a bed for two: each half is a bed of its own, with its own owner and its own spawn point, and two players sleep in it side by side.

  • Look at a half of the dragon bed: that half's text shows - unclaimed, or whose it is.
  • E on a free half claims it and makes it your spawn point. E on your half sleeps there, with the game's usual checks (night, a roof, a fire, no enemies, not wet).
  • Two players lie side by side, each on their half, and the night passes when everyone is in bed. Dying, each wakes on their own half.
  • Shift+E on your own half gives it up (and your spawn point, if it was there), so someone else can have it. One player may also have both halves: then they sleep in the middle and have one spawn point there, as in the plain dragon bed (Shift+E on one half moves it to the half they keep).
  • Nothing new to build. The dragon bed is the game's own; ones already standing in your world become two-sided too. A dragon bed someone already owned keeps its owner, on one half.
  • Blankets: the fur draped over a half's edge rolls up at the sleeper's feet and unrolls over them up to the chest, taking the shape of what they wear, armor, cape and all. It rolls back when they get up.
  • The game's own bed code does the claiming, the spawn points, sleeping and respawning; the mod only makes it work per half.

Install

Use a mod manager and BepInEx comes with it. By hand: drop DoubleBed.dll into BepInEx/plugins.

Multiplayer

Everyone - the server and every client - needs the mod at the same version. A server with the mod turns away clients without it (they would see one bed where there are two, and could lose the other player's claim).

Without the mod again

The dragon bed is the game's again: the owner of the first half keeps it as their bed. The owner of the second half loses that spawn point at their next death, as with a bed that is gone.

Settings

One, in BepInEx/config/hansenbansen.doublebed.cfg (or the BepInEx configuration manager), each player's own (it only changes how the bed looks):

  • [Blankets] Enabled (on): the blankets. Off, the dragon bed looks as in the game.

CHANGELOG

Changelog

1.0.3

  • Fixed: with some other mods (FirstPersonMode, for one) the blanket could stand up high over its sleeper instead of lying on them. Armor is now placed by the body's bones, not by its bounds, which other mods change.

1.0.2

  • Fixed: on a first start (no config file yet) the mod failed to load with a FileNotFoundException.

1.0.1

  • The store page's text.

1.0.0

First release.

  • Each half of the dragon bed is a bed of its own: its own owner, its own spawn point, its own hover text and E, decided by the half you look at. Dragon beds already standing become two-sided; an existing owner keeps the first half.
  • Two players sleep side by side, each on their half; the night passes when everyone is in bed; each respawns on their own half.
  • Shift+E on your own half gives it up, and your spawn point if it was there.
  • One player may own both halves: they sleep in the middle and have one spawn point there, as with the game's dragon bed. Shift+E on one half then moves it to the half they keep.
  • Blankets: the fur draped over a half's edge rolls up at the sleeper's feet and unrolls over them up to the chest, shaped to what they wear, and rolls back when they get up. Each player's game works it out by itself; nothing is sent. One setting turns them off: [Blankets] Enabled.
  • A destroyed dragon bed takes both spawn points with it, as the game does for any bed.
  • The game's own bed code does the work; the mod changes only which half a claim, an owner and a sleeper belong to. After a game update that changed that code, the mod switches itself off with an error in the log rather than half-working.
  • Everyone needs the mod: a server with it turns away clients without it.
