Hud Toggle

Simple quality of life mod that hides the HUD with the press of a single button, F8 by default. Use BepInEx ConfigurationManager to configure it.

• Press F8 (the default): the bars, hotbar, status effects, crosshair, hover texts, enemy health bars, damage numbers, messages, minimap and chat window all go. Press it again: all back.
• Set the key in the F1 menu (BepInEx Configuration Manager): Hud Toggle, ToggleKey.
• Choose what goes there too: HideMinimap and HideChat.
• The key does nothing while you write in the chat or console or name a map pin, and it works while you walk or fight.
• Esc brings the HUD back with the menu, so the pause menu never opens on a bare screen.
• The game's own Ctrl+F3 does the same, and the two agree.

Install

Use a mod manager and BepInEx comes with it. By hand: drop HudToggle.dll into BepInEx/plugins. For the F1 menu you need BepInEx Configuration Manager; without it edit BepInEx/config/hansenbansen.hudtoggle.cfg.

Multiplayer

Client side only: works on any server, and nobody else needs it.

• One key (F8 by default, set in the F1 menu with BepInEx ConfigurationManager) hides the whole HUD and shows it again, through the game's own HUD switch (the one Ctrl+F3 flips): bars, hotbar, status effects, crosshair, hover texts, enemy health bars, damage numbers and messages.
• The minimap and the chat window are hidden with it, each by a setting.
• The key works while walking, running or fighting; it does nothing while writing in the chat, the console or a map pin's name.
• Esc with the HUD hidden brings it back with the menu.
