| You can… | Where |
|---|---|
| Craft arrow shafts and heads (batches of 20) | Workbench / Forge / Black forge |
| Split arrows into shaft + head | Field — Fletcher's bench |
| Reforge shaft + head into arrows | Field — Fletcher's bench |
| Rehead arrows (swap head type) | Field — Fletcher's bench |

| Store crossbow bolts in the quiver (as well as arrows) | Fletcher's quiver |
| See the quiver on your back while it is equipped | Cosmetic only |
| Carry finished ammo as normal vanilla arrows / bolts | Inventory / bow / crossbow |
There is no material salvage beyond shafts and heads (no wood/ore back from splitting).
Custom models
This release adds custom 3D models:
| Model | In game |
|---|---|
| Arrowhead bag | Dropped arrowheads appear as a leather pouch, not a crate. |
| Fletcher's dagger | The Fletcher's knife uses this dagger mesh when held or dropped. |
| Quiver | The Fletcher's quiver uses this model when held, dropped, or shown on the back while equipped. |
Quick start
- Install BepInEx and Jötunn.
- Install Fletchers Forge into
BepInEx/plugins/Hardwire99-FletchersForge/. - Craft a Fletcher's knife at the Forge (level 1).
- Hold the knife in your hand — the Fletcher's bench opens automatically.
- Use Reforge or Split. Results go directly into your inventory.
- Craft a Fletcher's quiver, right-click it in inventory to equip, then drag arrows or crossbow bolts into its eight slots.
Fletcher's knife
| Recipe | Forge level 1 — Fine wood ×1, Copper ×1, Leather scraps ×1 |
| Look | Custom dagger model |
| Role | Opens the field bench; used for reforge / split |
| Combat | No damage; does not wear out from normal use |
| Bench | Auto-opens when the knife is in your hand; stays open while equipped |
Fletcher's quiver
Craft a Fletcher's quiver and right-click it in your inventory to equip or unequip. It does not use the cape/cloak slot. While equipped it unlocks the eight fletcher slots and shows a cosmetic quiver on your back. You can carry multiple quivers; only one can be equipped at a time (contents stay on each quiver).
| Recipe | Forge level 1 — Deer hide ×4, Bronze ×2, Fine wood ×4 |
| Equip | Right-click the quiver in the backpack (toggle) |
| Slots | 8, stored on the quiver item (they travel with that quiver) |
| Accepts | Vanilla arrows, crossbow bolts, shafts, arrowheads, and the Fletcher's knife |
Loading the slots
With the quiver equipped, open your inventory. The eight quiver slots sit under the backpack. Drag arrows (or other accepted items) in and out like any other inventory. Ctrl-click a quiver slot to send that stack straight to the backpack.
Choosing ammo
The bow or crossbow shoots from the selected quiver slot.
- If that slot has matching ammo (arrows for bows, bolts for crossbows), those are used.
- If it is empty or the wrong ammo type, the next matching quiver slot is used (and becomes selected).
- If no quiver slot matches, the weapon uses ammo from your normal inventory as usual.
- Melee weapons and staffs do not use quiver ammo.
While inventory is closed, the quiver shows as a HUD bar under the hotbar.
| How | Default |
|---|---|
| Hold [+1 … [+8 | Hold [ and press 1–8 |
| Click a HUD slot | Hold ~ (the key left of 1) to free the mouse, then click |
| Unload a HUD slot | Hold ~, then right-click (or Shift/Ctrl-click) to dump that stack into the backpack |
Selecting a slot that holds the Fletcher's knife equips the knife.
Moving the HUD bar
The closed-inventory quiver bar can be moved.
- Hold ~ to free the mouse.
- Drag the left grip (the small handle on the left of the bar) to a new spot. The position is saved.
- Right-click that grip (still holding ~) to put the bar back in the default place.
Moving the inventory row
While inventory is open, the quiver row starts under the backpack. Drag the left grip to move it (clicking a slot still moves items). That spot is saved until you drag it again. Right-click the grip to put it back under the backpack.

CHANGELOG
Changelog
1.0.1
- Fix: Fatal crash when used with AzuEPI.
- Changed: On death the quiver is packed and Fletcher-unequipped; after looting the tombstone it stays unequipped until you right-click it again.
1.0.0
- Version: First stable 1.0.0 release — Valheim 1.0 / Unity 6 compliant (API retargets for inventory, tooltips, ammo, world load).
- Changed: Quiver ammo stays in the movable quiver row while equipped (does not grow the backpack height — that broke AzuEPI equipment/quick slot UI). On death only, ammo is pushed into temporary matched bag/tombstone cells so Take All works; after loot the quiver is Fletcher-equipped again and tagged ammo is reclaimed.
- Fixed: Equipping no longer displaces AzuEPI equipment/quick slots or hides the quiver row.
- Fixed: Quiver inventory row positioning and dark plate UI under Valheim 1.0 inventory elements.
- Fixed: Fletcher-equip and ammo binding survive quit/rejoin (custom equip data is preserved across character load).
- Requires: BepInExPack for Valheim 1.0 (Unity 6) and a current Jötunn build (e.g. 2.30+).
0.2.14
- Fixed: After tombstone loot, the quiver that was Fletcher-equipped at death is re-equipped again (deferred, after inventory settles) — including when all ammo stayed packed. 0.2.13 kept the safe “no extra grave rows” dump but only re-equipped when unpacked stacks were repacked; that gap is closed.
0.2.13
- Fixed: Take All still hard-crashed after death dump. Root cause was growing the tombstone past AzuEPI’s
GetFullHeight(extra overflow rows). Overflow now stays packed on the quiver; only stacks that fit empty bag cells are unpacked. Old oversized 0.2.11 graves are sanitized on interact (refit or drop overflow).
0.2.12
- Fixed: Hard crash on tombstone Take All after a death dump. Repack/equip no longer runs inside
MoveAll/AddItem(that mutated the bag mid-transfer); both are deferred to the next frame after inventory settles.
0.2.11
- Fixed: Equipped quiver on the back is visible to other players in multiplayer (ZDO sync + per-player mesh).
- Fixed: Tombstone path for packed quiver contents — unequip on death, unpack into empty bag cells, add temporary extra tombstone rows when needed (
HarmonyAfterAzuEPI so height applies afterGetFullHeight), then after loot put stacks back into the matching quiver and Fletcher-equip it again. - Changed: Death dump / repack replaces the earlier “stay unequipped after Take All” workaround as the primary tombstone solution.
0.2.10
- Fixed: Rare tombstone crashes when dying with an equipped quiver (reported with AzuExtendedPlayerInventory). Take All could interact badly with Fletcher equip state and packed quiver contents while extended-inventory mods auto-equipped items from equipment cells.
- Changed: On death, equipped quivers are unequipped before items move to the tombstone. After looting the grave, the quiver stays unequipped until you right-click it again — the eight-slot row and HUD do not open during Take All.
0.2.9
- Fixed: Melee weapons and staffs no longer consume arrows from an equipped quiver.
- Fixed: When the selected quiver slot is empty, the bow or crossbow uses the next matching quiver slot instead of stopping.
0.2.8
- Fixed: Weight of the quiver and its contents now counts toward total carry weight when the quiver is unequipped but still in inventory.
- Added: Quiver can hold crossbow bolts (bone, iron, black metal, carapace, charred) and use them when that slot is selected.
- Added: Quiver appears on your back when equipped and is removed when unequipped (visual enhancement; does not use the cape slot). Toggle with
QuiverBack.ShowOnBack.
0.2.7
- Fixed: Initial quiver creation bug. Quiver slots did not work when first created and needed a game restart. Fixed by requiring the quiver to be equipped (right-click / RMB in inventory) before the quiver inventory space opens.
- Equip: Right-click the quiver in the backpack to equip or unequip (does not use the cape/cloak slot). You can carry multiple quivers if desired; only one can be equipped at a time. Contents stay on each quiver item.
- Slots: HUD and inventory quiver row only appear while a quiver is equipped.
0.2.6
- Quiver row - while inventory is open, drag the left grip to move the eight slots (clicking a slot still moves items). Right-click the grip to reset.
- Fletcher's knife - unequipping the knife closes the bench; inventory stays open.
- Fletcher's bench - compact panel at normal slot, button, and text size, with Reforge and Split at the bottom. Chest extras (weight tab, Reclaim all) stay hidden on the bench.
- Docs - in-game screenshots of the arrowhead bag, knife, quiver, HUD, and bench.
0.2.5
- Quiver unload - stacks can be dragged back out of the quiver into the backpack. Vanilla was cancelling any drag that did not start in the backpack unless a chest was open.
- HUD dump - with inventory closed, hold
~and right-click (or Shift/Ctrl-click) a quiver slot to send that stack to your inventory. Open-inventory Ctrl-click does the same.
0.2.4
- Quiver and knife - fixed issues with the Fletcher's knife and quiver.
0.2.0
- Custom models - arrowhead bag world drops, Fletcher's dagger mesh on the knife, and a craftable quiver.
- Quiver - eight slots stored on the quiver item, HUD when inventory is closed, backpack row when it is open, configurable keys.
- Docs - README rewritten for 0.2.0 (finished features only).
