Plugin Social

Adds groups and an enhanced chat to Valheim.

Install the plugin on every participating client and on the server. Dedicated servers and peer-hosted worlds are supported.

Chat

Command Behavior
/s <message> or /say <message> Uses normal nearby chat.
/sh <message> or /shout <message> Shouts within twice the normal say range.
/w <PlayerName> <message> Sends a private message anywhere in the world.
/wping <PlayerName> <message> Sends a private message and animated map ping to one player.
/g <message> Sends a message to connected group members.
  • The active shout, whisper, or group channel remains selected for subsequent messages.
  • Shouts also appear above the sender's head.
  • Incoming messages temporarily reveal a closed chat window.

Groups

Groups contain up to five players and persist in the world. The leader can invite, remove, and promote members through /group commands. Invitations use Valheim's Yes/No dialog.

Command Behavior
/group help Lists group commands.
/group invite <PlayerName> Invites a connected player.
/group leave Leaves the current group.
/group remove <PlayerName> Removes a member; leader only.
/group promote <PlayerName> Promotes a member to leader.
/group info Lists members, connection state, and leader.
/g <message> Sends a message to connected group members.
  • The vanilla public-position option is disabled and hidden.
  • Connected group members are automatically visible to each other on the map.
  • Vanilla map-ping controls and public pings are available only while the local player belongs to a group.
  • Private /wping messages remain available outside groups.
  • Friendly-fire rules, permissions, and teleportation are not included.
