JGRPG
JGRPG adds an RPG progression system to Valheim with six playable classes, talent trees, active abilities, and shared world progression.
Features
- Player class is selected through the JGRPG configuration before opening the game and can be changed at any time while outside the game.
- Persistent character class and talent choices
- 90 RPG levels
- Shared world RPG level and XP progression
- Boss-gated level caps
- Talent points earned as you level
- Free talent resets
- Five active abilities per class
- Configurable keyboard and gamepad ability keybinds
- An additional Eitr food mod is recommended for Sorcerer and Shaman progression; JGFOOD is specifically pre-designed to work alongside JGRPG with no changes required.
Tank
A defensive class focused on armor, blocking, damage reduction, taunting enemies, and protecting nearby allies.
Abilities
- Provoke - Taunts nearby enemies and forces their attention onto the Tank.
- Fortify - Temporarily increases the Tank's durability and reduces the stamina cost of blocking.
- Thunderclap - Unleashes a close-range lightning attack that damages nearby enemies.
- Guardian's Rally - Protects nearby allies by reducing the damage they take.
- Odin's Glare - Staggers nearby enemies, creating an opening for the Tank and their allies.
Berserker
An aggressive melee class focused on melee damage, attack speed, Rage, low-health bonuses, and powerful close-range abilities. Supports swords, axes, clubs, knives, spears, polearms, and fists/fist weapons.
Abilities
- Rage - Temporarily increases melee damage by 50%, movement speed by 20%, and two-handed attack speed by 20% at the cost of taking increased damage.
- Whirlwind - Spins through nearby enemies, dealing weapon damage in an area around the Berserker.
- Fury - Prevents the Berserker's health from falling below a temporary health floor while disabling health regeneration.
- Vorpal - Greatly increases melee damage and allows attacks to execute weakened enemies.
- Thor's Hammer - Temporarily increases melee damage and converts physical weapon damage into Lightning damage.
Ranger
A ranged class focused on bows and crossbows, mobility, Hunter's Mark, explosive attacks, rapid fire, party buffs, and spear training as a melee backup option.
Abilities
- Hunter's Mark - Marks an enemy, causing it to take increased damage.
- Explosive Shot - Temporarily causes ranged attacks to explode and damage enemies around the target.
- Rapid Shot - Rapidly fires a volley of arrows or bolts at reduced damage per shot.
- Ranger's Rally - Buffs nearby allies with increased stamina regeneration, attack speed, and movement speed.
- Ullr's Quiver - Temporarily fires multiple arrows or bolts with each ranged attack.
Rogue
A stealth-focused melee class centered on daggers, Sneak, mobility, poison damage, and burst attacks.
Abilities
- Vanish - Drops enemy aggro and conceals the Rogue from enemies until the effect expires or the Rogue breaks stealth.
- Backstab - Delivers a powerful dagger attack that staggers the target when striking from behind.
- Fan of Knives - Spins and throws knives outward, damaging all nearby enemies.
- Shadow Walk - Teleports behind a targeted enemy and delivers a powerful dagger strike.
- Loki's Gambit - Rapidly teleports between nearby enemies while delivering a series of powerful dagger strikes.
Sorcerer
A magic-focused class centered on Eitr, elemental damage, spell channeling, battlefield control, and powerful area attacks.
Abilities
- Fireball - Channels and launches a Fire projectile that locks onto an enemy when casting begins. The True Fireball talent adds an area-of-effect explosion and enables free aiming.
- Ice Nova - Unleashes a radial Frost attack that damages and slows nearby enemies.
- Gravity Well - Creates a temporary area that repeatedly pulls nearby enemies toward its center.
- Haste - Increases attack speed and spell channeling speed for the Sorcerer and nearby allies.
- Meteor - Channels a powerful meteor strike that deals heavy Blunt and Fire damage to enemies in an area.
Shaman
A support-focused magic class specializing in healing, elemental resistance, protective shields, and lightning damage. The Shaman excels at keeping allies alive and strengthening their defenses while retaining offensive capabilities for solo play.
Abilities
- Chain Lightning - Channels a Lightning spell that locks onto an enemy when casting begins. Upon release, lightning strikes the locked target before jumping to up to two additional nearby enemies, dealing reduced damage with each jump. Requires a valid enemy target to begin casting.
- Chain Heal - Channels a healing spell that locks onto a friendly player when casting begins. Upon release, healing jumps to up to two additional nearby allies, prioritizing those with the lowest remaining health percentage. Automatically targets the Shaman if no ally is selected when casting begins.
- Ancestral Blessing - Temporarily increases the elemental damage resistance of the Shaman and nearby allies against Fire, Frost, Lightning, Poison, and Spirit damage.
- Earthen Ward - Grants the Shaman and nearby allies a temporary protective shield that absorbs incoming damage based on each player's maximum health.
- Ancestral Totem - Summons a stationary totem that periodically restores health to the Shaman and nearby allies within its radius.

- Changed the player-facing names of all seven classes:
- Tank → Huscarl
- Berserker → Einherjar
- Ranger → Veiðimaðr
- Rogue → Níðingr
- Sorcerer → Galdramaðr

0.4.1
- Expanded Shaman equipment compatibility to allow casting all five abilities while wielding a shield, a one-handed mace or club, or a one-handed mace or club with a shield. Unarmed and magic staff casting remain supported.
- Updated Shaman Chain Lightning and Chain Heal equipment validation to support these additional equipment combinations throughout channeling.
- Magic staves remain the primary progression equipment for Shaman from Mistlands onward, as Chain Lightning damage continues to scale with the equipped staff's progression tier. Shields and one-handed maces or clubs provide alternative defensive and melee playstyles without replacing magic staff damage progression.

- Added the Shaman class with a full 120-rank talent tree through level 90 and five unique active abilities.

- Changed True Fireball to retain free aiming, allowing players to redirect the spell during channeling and target the ground without requiring an enemy.
- Removed the 50% Channel-time reduction previously granted by equipping a magic staff. Staves continue to increase Fireball damage according to their progression tier, and Sorcerer Haste continues to affect casting speed.

ZNetScene.RemoveObjects()exceptions and severe performance degradation when moving between areas or using portals. - Reworked Fireball channeling hand effects to use local, non-networked visuals.
