Enigma Mode

Enigma Mode QoL is a client-side quality of life modpack designed to enhance your Valheim or Valheim Enigma Mode experience. It focuses on maximizing Valheim's 3D world by improving inventory management, immersion, and the nomap experience. The main Enigma Mode modpack reshapes Valheim’s world and systems. This QoL pack focuses on smoothing the Valheim experience by adding first person, increasing inventory space, adding craft from chests, and more. Thanks to all the great modders who have made this possible.

This pack is intended for Enigma Mode but is fully compatible with regular Valheim. You may use it as-is or replace it with your own preferred quality-of-life mods.

What Enigma Mode QoL Does

Enigma Mode QoL enhances gameplay in several key ways:

• Reduced Inventory Management
  Players spend less time organizing and more time building or exploring. Extra inventory slots, improved sorting, and quality-of-life tweaks reduce micromanagement.

• First Person Mode
  Players can switch to first-person mode for a more grounded perspective. Dungeons, ruins, and natural landmarks feel more imposing and atmospheric, encouraging slower, more deliberate exploration.

• Improved Multiplayer Performance
  Performance-focused mods reduce lag, synchronization issues, and network strain, resulting in smoother co-op combat and exploration.

• Reduced Darkness
  Valheim is an excessively dark game by default. This adjustment makes the night dark, but visible.

• Partial NoMap. Cartography Table map access
  While Enigma Mode itself is a nomap experience, this modpack allows players to access maps by looking at a Cartography table. The Cartography Table regains meaningful functionality through NoMapPrinter integration:

  • Players may view a map only while interacting with a Cartography Table
  • The map is not visible anywhere else
  • The map displays explored terrain only
  • The player’s current position is never shown
  • The surrounding area must have a Rested bonus of 7 or higher for the map to appear
    This preserves the challenge and mystery of NoMap play while allowing deliberate, lore-consistent navigation.

• Immersive, Contextual HUD
  The UI is mostly hidden by ImmersiveHUD to increase views of 3d game world:

  • All UI elements are hidden when not in use
  • Health appears when taking damage
  • Stamina appears when stamina is used
  • Opening the inventory temporarily reveals all UI elements, allowing players to check stats, food, and equipment at any time

• 📷☠ Death Screenshots ☠📷
  Automatic death screenshots are captured and shared via Discord integration:

  • Over 400 possible death messages are randomly selected for added humor and flavor
  • Death screenshots default to the Global Enigma Server
  • Players may redirect screenshots to their own Discord webhook via config
  • This feature can be disabled entirely if desired

Together, these improvements make Enigma Mode more enjoyable and provide valuable feedback to the Enigma community. This allows Enigma to be a project that grows and improves the more people play it.

Getting Started

Singleplayer

Install the QoL pack on your local client.

On a Server

The QoL modpack is client-side only.
Do not install it on the server.

Enigma Mode QoL does not alter progression, combat balance, or Enigma-specific systems.
It exists purely to support usability & convenience during your Enigma Mode Valheim journey.

Fire's Ghetto Networking

• Set default Update Rate to 100%
• Everybody's networking situation is unique.
• If you experience problems in multiplayer, try adjusting some of the settings in fGN

Cartography Table changes

• Adjusted Cartography Table settings in nomap Printer
• Players can press M to veiw the map, if conditions are met
• Player must be within 20 meters of cartography table
• Player must have 7 comfort or more
• Interact with "record discoveries" to open the map and add pins to it

• I removed this mod because 1.6.0 causes Valheim to crash on server login
• You can use 1.5.0 if you download add it to the modpack manually, it will work
• I left the config in so you wont need to configure anything
• Do NOT use 1.6.0 it will cause Unity Crash
