Scrubbed Title Screen

Customize your title screen and give players a server information page with artwork, tips, and optional joining. Hides the Modded Valheim warning by default. Client-side only; Valheim's loading screens stay unchanged.

Quick setup

1. Install with your mod manager and launch once.
2. Add your chosen files to BepInEx/config/Scrubbed_Title_Screen/. Copy editable examples from Templates into the parent folder to activate them. Start with TitleImage.png and JoinBackground.png.
3. For joining, set Name, Address, and optionally Password in BepInEx/config/com.jpvalheim.scrubbedtitlescreen.cfg. An address is required only for joining; local page content works without one.

Artwork

Keep normal and hover artwork on the same canvas and center. Templates use transparent 2048 × 1024 button canvases and a 1920 × 1080 background; other PNG sizes work too. Title and Join position/scale are independent.

A title image alone is decorative. A page without title artwork gets a native title-menu entry. Join hides when unavailable or already connected; the page remains readable from the pause menu. Each entry also offers disabled, direct-prompt, and direct-login choices.

Optional content

• Tips: JoinTips.txt, one tip per line. Formatting: <color=#FFD700>gold</color>, <size=30>large</size>, <br>. Random selection is default; ordered display is available. Join tips are enabled, title tips disabled, with separate layouts. Inline lists still accept ||.
• Image pages: Pages/01.png, 02.png, etc. Background clicks browse pages instead of tips. Tips appear only on the opening splash; without one, the first numbered image opens immediately.
• Hover sounds: TitleImage_Hover.wav and JoinButton_Hover.wav. Matching Ogg and MP3 filenames also work. Discovery order: WAV, Ogg, MP3; an explicit extension selects that file. Title and Join controls are clearly labeled and independent. Starting points skip into the file and play immediately; they do not add a delay.
• Title tips/changelog: opt-in examples are in Templates/Optional. Select the changelog text file to replace the native panel's content. Logo visibility is configurable too.

Run sts reload after edits; it also reports selected sound files and starting points. Clear a file path to remove cached content; failed replacements keep the last working asset. Back, Escape, or controller Back returns one step. Use normal Play to choose another character.

Tip background darkness controls the soft area behind tips: 0 hides it, 0.5 is medium, and 1 is black. The default is 0.9. Older opacity values convert automatically to keep their appearance.
