Greydwarf Wand
An early-game wand powered by stamina instead of Eitr. Fire a cold cyan bolt toward your crosshair without waiting for Mistlands gear or food.
- Small wand model, using the vanilla frost staff at half scale.
- One straight-flying bolt per cast, with no gravity or random spread.
- Elemental Magic skill progression and normal game damage scaling.
- Three quality levels; no durability loss.
- Configurable recipe, damage, resource costs, range, speed, and appearance.
- Server-synced gameplay settings.
Crafting
At a level 1 Workbench, after discovering the required materials:
| Material | Craft quality 1 | Upgrade to quality 2 | Upgrade to quality 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fine wood | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Core wood | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Greydwarf eye | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Ancient seed | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| Workbench level | 1 | 2 | 3 |
No wisp, Wisplight, Eitr, or Mistlands unlock is required. Fine wood and Black Forest materials make this an early-progression weapon, not a starting item.
Default settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Base damage at quality 1 | 8 raw + 10 frost |
| Base damage at quality 2 | 8 raw + 13 frost |
| Base damage at quality 3 | 8 raw + 16 frost |
| Base stamina cost | 12 per bolt |
| Eitr / health cost | 0 / 0 |
| Projectile speed | 45 m/s |
| Approximate flight range | 60 m |
| Knockback | 15 |
These are configured base values. Valheim's skill scaling, target resistances, and other normal combat modifiers affect actual damage and costs.
The default equipment behavior remains a two-handed staff, with the model drawn at wand size. Right-click blocks; there is no alternate spell. OneHandedEquip is an experimental option for shield use; hand placement and animation need in-game validation.
Installation
Requires BepInExPack Valheim and Jötunn 2.30.0 or newer. Install through your mod manager's local ZIP import, or copy plugins/GreydwarfWand/GreydwarfWand.dll into your active profile's BepInEx/plugins/GreydwarfWand/ folder.
For multiplayer, install the same Greydwarf Wand version on the server and every client, together with its dependencies.
If you installed the earlier source build, remove WisplightWand.dll first. Do not run both. The internal item name WisplightWand is retained so saved items keep their identity. The configuration now lives at BepInEx/config/org.valheimmods.greydwarfwand.cfg; copy any desired values from your old configuration manually.
Configuration
The file is generated on first launch. Gameplay values follow the server while connected. Admins can adjust synced entries through a compatible configuration manager. File edits take effect after restarting; no automatic file watcher is included.
ModelScale and TintProjectileCyan are local cosmetic settings and require restarting. Re-equip after changing OneHandedEquip.
A wand inventory icon is included inside the DLL. To override it, put greydwarfwand_icon.png beside the DLL.
Validation status
Compiled and checked against the available Valheim assemblies and Jötunn 2.30.0. Managed casting/configuration checks and API-reference checks are included in the source archive. Live Valheim startup, animation, visual appearance, and multiplayer are not yet verified.
Credits
Built with Jötunn. Uses cloned vanilla game assets at runtime; no game assets or dependency assemblies are distributed.
