This mod requires the following mods to function
denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim
BepInEx pack for Valheim. Preconfigured with the correct entry point for mods and preferred defaults for the community.
Preferred version: 5.4.2350README
I vibe-coded this BepInEx plugin to let you 1) table-craft from nearby storage chests, 2) hammer-build from nearby storage chests, 3) send inventory trash to nearby storage chests, and 4) refuel fire-class and smelter-class buildings from nearby storage chests. It works in singleplayer and multiplayer, and there is no server mod feature. It should act like the vanilla game, except you are reaching out with very long arms; you'll even hear the relevant storage chests open/close in the distance lol.
The noteworthy options you can tweak are 1) storage range max is 64 and I set it 50 by default (table range is 20 for context), 2) you can set ReserveItems to keep 1 of everything in every chest (for easier refilling of the chest in the future), 3) you can rename the "Store Nearby" button (and non-English people can change it to their language), 4) you can change what "Store Nearby" sends or keeps, and 5) refuel has three switches: "Fireplace Fuel" and "Smelter Fuel" are on by default (kiln wood counts as fuel), and you can turn on "Smelter Ore" to also feed ore, barley, flax, etc. from chests into smelters, windmills, spinning wheels, and eitr refineries.
"Store Nearby" sends most world materials. Kept stuff includes your gear, ammo, crafted food, potions, keys, and anything in your top hotbar. You can tweak this feature by adding items to the AlwaysKeep and AlwaysSend variables in the config file. For example, if you use honey and blueberries as a food and you don't want them dumping, add "honey, blueberries" to the AlwaysKeep variable.

CHANGELOG
Changelog
1.2.1
- New defaults:
- Enabled refueling with ore from storage (by default)
- Extended default range of all features from 50 to 64
1.2.0
- Basic wood arrows in a chest's top-right corner slot now change how the mod uses the chest: 1 arrow excludes the chest from being used at all, and 2-100 allows it to be used but doesn't allow any ingredient to be drawn below that number of arrows. Yes that's a little confusing, but it's good because it's reusing one irrelevant Vanilla game item to add features, rather than walking over the game code even more.
- You can better choose which storage containers to use. Personal, Ships, Carts, Barrel, Wardrobe and Pots are excluded by default but you can type them into the allowed list. Forever excluded storage: World loot, salvage, gifts, Obliterator and other players' Personal Chests.
- Refuel from Storage now has more options.
Smelter-class Oreand the newSmelter-class Non-Oreare on by default for metal ore, metal scraps, Petrified Tissue, flax, barley, oats, oat seeds, and soft tissue. - Store Nearby now completes multiple placements across synchronous container saves. This may or may not work or sound insane.
- List of storage variable names that you can add into the ContainerTypes setting to allow the mod to use them:
| Group | Storage / approved prefab IDs |
|---|---|
chests |
piece_chest_wood, piece_chest, piece_chest_blackmetal, piece_chest_grausten |

1.1.0
- Store Nearby upgraded to use more a advanced item list system to hopefully prevent mis-categorized items (onions and most boss drop trash now send to storage). Config file format changed; automatic migration script will apply on first run.
- Store Nearby now places stacks in vanilla's item-dependent row order, filling materials bottom-first (why vanilla does that, I have no idea lol).
- Refuel from Storage added: pressing E on a fireplace, torch, sconce, smelter, furnace, kiln, etc, will add the proper fuel from nearby storage. The refueling messages on the screen are kind of inconsistent English, but I copied them from Valheim's defaults anyway to appear vanilla.
- Refuel from Storage has three options:
Fireplace FuelandSmelter Fuel(on by default; kiln wood counts as fuel), andSmelter Orefor ore, barley, flax, and soft tissue (off by default). ItsDistancedefaults to 50 m like the other features.
1.0.0
- I hope this works! HOLD ONTO YOUR BUTTS!!!
