MySix ArmorStandSwap

Pressing E on an armour stand with empty hands trades everything you are wearing for everything on the stand. Hotbar keys 1-8 work exactly as before.

Part of the MySix mod suite. Every mod in the suite needs MySix Core, which adds the in-game mysix command for reading and changing settings. On a server, settings are owned by the server: an admin changes a value once and every connected player picks it up.

Installing

Install with a mod manager (Gale or r2modman), or unzip the DLL into BepInEx/plugins. Everyone playing together should run the same version.

Settings

Press F5 in game and type mysix to list every setting, or edit BepInEx/config/com.mysix.*.cfg.

Note on achievements

Valheim disables achievements while any mod is loaded. To re-enable them, press F5 and enter yesiuseddevcommandsbutiwantmyachievementsanyway 1.

• Hold E for the game's own press. Hold E on a stand for a second and it does what the unmodded game does: the piece you are looking at drops off the stand. A quick press still swaps, once you let go of E. The hold time is ArmorStandSwap.HoldSeconds.

• Clearer wording, and a tip worth knowing. To clear a stand completely, take everything off and press E: it hands you each piece and has nothing of yours to take back. The explanation of the modifier key was also wrong - you can block with empty hands, so the key is there for the times the game will not count you as blocking, such as when you are encumbered. Nothing about the swap itself has changed.

• Block as you press E to swap everything. It does the same as holding the modifier key, and because block sits on a trigger it works on a controller and on a Steam Deck in Game Mode, where there is no keyboard to hold a key on. Both ways work everywhere, so use whichever is to hand.
• The key is named the way your keyboard labels it. A Mac is told to hold Option rather than Alt, and pressing E at an empty stand now says how to put your gear on it. Setting FullSwapModifier to Always makes every press a full swap, and None leaves only blocking.

• A swap no longer shuffles your bags. A piece that comes off the stand now lands in the very inventory slot the piece it replaced came out of, instead of the first free one.
• One free slot is enough. A trade only needs a single slot to work in, however many pieces change places, because each piece that leaves for the stand frees the slot the next one arrives in. A piece the stand gives you that you have nothing to trade for still needs a slot of its own. If there is not room the press is refused before anything moves, and says how many slots it wants and why.

• The stand leads. Pressing E used to take the cape and belt off even when the stand had neither, and getting a single piece back off a stand is fiddly. Now only the slots the stand already holds something in are exchanged, so a stand holding a chest piece takes your chest piece and leaves the rest of your gear alone. Whatever you are wielding still always goes onto the stand, and a weapon or shield the stand is displaying still comes to you.
• Hold Alt while pressing E to swap everything, which is how you dress a bare stand from what you are wearing in one press - the old behaviour, now on a modifier. The key is configurable; Alt is the default because it is not a movement key, and the game binds alternate build placement to Shift.
