Epic Loot Adventure Tools
A companion tracker for Epic Loot, by Pumpli. Browse bounties and treasure maps, share adventure search areas with friends, and check nearby adventures when a spawn appears to be missing.
Features
- Compact tracker beneath the minimap with search, live marker distances and nearest-first sorting.
- All, Active, Done and Missing filters. Done contains bounties awaiting vendor collection; treasures appear in All and Active.
- Shared adventure cards and map search-area circles, labelled with their owner. Choose Everyone, Mine or an individual connected player.
- Iron/Gold/Boss labels, numeric stars, configured bounty HP multiplier and escort count.
- Nearby spawn checks and prominent Reset buttons for adventures eligible for recovery.
- Optional F10 diagnostic overlay, disabled by default.
- InventoryActions compatibility for automatic stacking of compatible Epic Loot crafting materials and bounty tokens.
Installation
Install with Thunderstore Mod Manager or r2modman and launch Valheim modded. The package declares BepInExPack Valheim and Epic Loot as dependencies. InventoryActions is optional.
For manual installation, place the included plugins/EpicLootAdventureTools folder in BepInEx/plugins.
Install Adventure Tools on each participating client. This companion does not require a dedicated-server installation; Epic Loot and its dependencies still need their normal setup. Remove older manually installed or locally imported Adventure Tools copies before installing the published package to avoid duplicate plugins.
Controls
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
| N | Toggle the tracker, including while walking or sprinting |
| Left Alt | Toggle the cursor while a tool is open |
| Escape / X | Close the window |
| Search | Match adventure names, target names and biomes |
| Player | Cycle Everyone, Mine and connected players |
| Nearest first / Re-sort | Order adventures using your current position |
| Show on map | Open the adventure marker |
| Check | Diagnose nearby loaded adventure areas |
| Reset | Attempt recovery after a missing or stalled spawn is detected |
Walking and world interaction remain available with the cursor enabled. Mouse-look pauses while the cursor is enabled; typing in Search temporarily captures gameplay keys. Teleporting closes the tracker.
Check and recovery
Progress updates automatically every five seconds. Check separately inspects nearby loaded spawn areas and displays yellow result messages. Missing keeps flagged local adventures together during the session, including after you leave their area.
Visit the adventure area and allow it to load before checking. A distant or unloaded spawn is not treated as proof of a broken adventure. Reset performs fresh safety checks and can refuse recovery when a target already exists or a bounty is partially completed. Other players' adventures are read-only: Check and Reset affect your own adventures only.
Sharing
Players with this version automatically exchange adventure names, owner names and search-area centers. It does not share inventory contents or live player positions, and does not reveal exact hidden chest positions.
Changes are sent at five-second checks. Unchanged snapshots are sent every 30 seconds so new players can catch up. Allow up to 30 seconds after joining; disconnected players' snapshots expire within 75 seconds. Offline adventures are not stored.
The map shows up to 256 matching shared areas. Use the player or search filter for larger collections. Each player shares up to 256 adventures. Sharing does not prevent another player from activating a bounty.
Configuration
Generated after the first launch at BepInEx/config/pumpli.epicloot.adventuretools.cfg:
[General]
Tracker toggle key = N
Enable diagnostics = false
Set Enable diagnostics = true to enable F10. Diagnostic refresh runs every two seconds while open. Config files are not bundled, so your local settings are preserved.
Compatibility and release status
Version 0.8.0 was built against Epic Loot 0.14.5. The build and 23 isolated sharing/filter/input checks passed. Shared markers are an initial multiplayer implementation and still require a two-player in-game test; isolated checks do not verify live networking or Unity rendering.
The HP multiplier is taken from Epic Loot configuration, not measured total health or a universal difficulty score. Target species and other mods may change combat difficulty. Custom bosses without the game's boss flag may display as Iron/Gold.
InventoryActions compatibility preserves item metadata and native stacking rules; it does not make every item stackable. Enchanted equipment is excluded.
Credits
Created by Pumpli as an unofficial companion to Epic Loot. Epic Loot is created by RandyKnapp and the Epic Loot team. Epic Loot, Valheim and other dependency binaries are not bundled in this package.
