This mod requires the following mods to function
denikson-BepInExPack_Valheim
BepInEx pack for Valheim. Preconfigured with the correct entry point for mods and preferred defaults for the community.
Preferred version: 5.4.2351ValheimModding-Jotunn
Jötunn (/ˈjɔːtʊn/, 'giant'), the Valheim Library was created with the goal of making the lives of mod developers easier. It enables you to create mods for Valheim using an abstracted API so you can focus on the actual content creation.
Preferred version: 2.30.2README
RestlessCore
The Restless table for Valheim 1.0. Nearby chests count as yours, the HUD stays out of the way, and the host locks the rules so a guest cannot quietly change the world.
Open F8 in-game, or Restless from the pause menu. Vanilla Settings is left alone.
Needs BepInExPack 5.4.2351 and Jötunn 2.30.2.
Chests, without the running
If a chest is close, it is in play. Crafting and building read those boxes. Smelters, kilns, cooking stations, and fermenters pull from them. Hungry tames eat matching food out of them. Ground scrap that already belongs in a chest gets vacuumed in.
` quick-stacks matching piles. Shift+`` `` restocks the bag from those same chests. Middle-click locks a slot so those keys leave it alone.
Building and the small stuff
The hammer repairs a circle, not one piece. Stations reach a bit further, and using one repairs what that station knows how to fix. Campfires and hearths stay lit. Held torches do not burn down. The hoe will dig or raise to 20 m. Most drops float; nails still sink.
Tools stay in hand while you swim. A loaded crossbow keeps the bolt when you put it away. Axes combo while you chop. Tames do not team-kill each other, and you do not team-kill them (player PvP is still vanilla). Death pins clear when the tomb is empty.
Stacks default to 2×, gear stays 1×. Extra worn slots plus Z / X / C sit beside the hotbar.
How it looks
Health and adrenaline sit left of the hotbar; stamina and eitr sit right. Notices stack top-left. The minimap tears at the edge; wind sits on the biome plate, and the helm ring moves left of the map so it is not under the buffs. Hammer a placed piece and a health meter sits under the name plate.
Tab, inspect, and crafting are mid-migration — some of that is still vanilla wood under Restless paper. F8 turns the Restless pieces on and off.
Gameplay config is host-locked. The look is client-local.
CHANGELOG
Changelog
0.2.1
- Hold Alt and click with the hammer out to seal wood. The Seal bind sits on the hammer key stack. A plain click still places or repairs
- The cooking portrait is a shared card frame. Wide cards keep the corner folds and the bottom knot
0.2.0
- Hold Alt with the repair tool to seal wooden pieces against rain. One resin each, from your inventory and nearby chests. Already sealed pieces are skipped. F8 has the switch and the radius
- A death that leaves nothing to recover drops the map pin
- Extra-slot hotkeys stay quiet while you are typing
- The F8 storage page uses the storage emblem
0.1.18
- Storage browser for the Storekeeper's Table. Take is answered by the chest owner, and a missed reply puts the stacks back
0.1.17
- A dedicated server can feed tames from a chest a player owns. A client still cannot send player id 0 to open a private chest
- A split stack remembers how many you threw. Vacuum will not delete that drop when its stack has been cleared
- Compendium text follows the native scroll. Settings repaint when a value changes. F8 and build-detail readers use the shared wheel, and that wheel stops when you change settings page
- Hover hints measure their text. A narrow tooltip rescales when the canvas width changes. Extra craft requirements scroll on their own. The crafting corner stays 96
- Cheated marks on items, characters, and worlds no longer block achievements. A modded game is not a cheat mark
- The character page shows the lifetime record. Deaths, distance, crafts, and hunts stay put when achievements start counting
- Character adds run, day streak, longest streak, comfort, pieces built, trees, ore, crops, fish, tames, tallest build, and highest place built
0.1.16
- Crafting is one paper sheet on the native envelope: station header, recipe list, scrolling detail, and material sockets with their own count lanes (PR 24)
- The station requirement sits in a material socket with the native icon, level, and unmet hint. The old dark station-level plate stays hidden
- Selected recipes read Valheim's RecipeDataPair, so the station, category, and preview follow the real recipe
- Recipe and loadout readers share a four-row wheel motion that takes a fractional notch and eases
- BepInExPack pin is 5.4.2351. Jötunn stays 2.30.2
- Selected Craft/Upgrade keeps its selected colour. The station line follows the recipe, including handcraft
- You can kill your own tames again, including with the butcher knife. Ballistae still ignore them, and tames still do not hurt you or each other
- Building from chests no longer skips a required station. A stonecutter piece still needs a stonecutter in range
0.1.15
- Loadout totals: paper panel, worn-slot armour sources, multiplicative attack bonuses, and a scrollable source reader (PR 20)
- Pause, inventory, and hammer layout dumps only run while the Jötunn debug overlay is on
- Expansion settings can hide a row until another setting is on (pile range waits for isolate)
- Already published Plant 0.1.5 and Piles 0.1.5 still start on this Core
0.1.14
- Plant and Piles settings render on their F8 pages (PR 19). Cook and Drawers stay “no configurable settings.”
- Core Search range also covers piles unless Piles isolates its own range
- Dedicated-host tames eat from nearby chests again (no local player used to skip the pull)
0.1.13
- Tab and chests restore native graphics, TMP, hidden objects and CanvasGroups on undress (PR 17)
- Recipe rows and requirement cells remember native count/quality text and CanvasGroup state so turning the inventory skin off restores them (PR 18)
- Hammer requirement colours update even when the count text does not
- Crafting inspect shares tooltip badges and sections, and keeps scroll
- Split and variant dialogs use paper; native input and selection stay
- F8 has an ecosystem overview (Core plus Cook / Plant / Piles / Drawers). Cards show the loaded BepInEx version against
versions.yaml, and Core also shows Jötunn - Loadout totals overlay from the armor chip; hover a stat for origins (F8 toggle, not the ledger)
- Day and time sit on the biome bar (F8)
- Fermenter, smelter, kiln, cooking station, and beehive hovers show remaining time (F8)
- Jötunn pin is 2.30.2 (same as the pack).
versions.yamlis the single pin list
0.1.12
- Hammer menu no longer re-dresses every piece and moves the grid on idle frames; hover, category, and live resource counts still update
- Tab inventory paper (bag, chest, craft, skills, collections) only re-dresses when a stack, recipe, or overlay actually changes
0.1.11
- Hammer / hoe / serving-tray menu uses the shared paper wells; piece cards keep native counts, stars, arrows and the grey/red availability tint
- Selected piece gets a compact paper card (name, description, costs, station) docked under the grid, sitting with the menu just above the hotbar; native icons and shortage colours stay
- The piece grid scales down once to leave room; hovering another piece grows the card downward without moving the grid
- Two or more costs sit side by side on a taller card so long recipes are not clipped
- The card is as wide as the piece grid, with the cost half taking more of that width so resource names stay on one line
- Build list and the two detail columns scroll on vanilla bars (narrow 10-unit tracks), not a kit scrollbar
- Search box keeps its placeholder, caret and selection
0.1.10
- ESC pause labels stay on the paper column (native MenuEntries text stays in the layout instead of being deactivated)
0.1.9
- World wind stays on the biome plate; the helm wind ring moves left of the minimap so it is not under the buffs
- Crafting paper stays grey stone: the dresser was retinting the plate black every frame over the right art
- Compendium, trophies and achievements use the shared paper collection shells (status text and progress stay)
- ESC and logout/quit confirmations use the shared paper kit
- M map biome, pin name, filters and switches use the shared paper kit; selected pin art stays live
0.1.8
- Hammer hover now shows our own clean health meter under the piece name/icon plate for anything with a WearNTear, instead of relying on the vanilla piece health bar (which stays hidden by default via the existing PieceHealth debug toggle)
0.1.7
- Wind arrow moves to its own plate on the left of the minimap instead of sharing the biome bar underneath it
0.1.6
- Vitals bleach the torn fill inside the meter mask so health/stamina/eitr read as colour, not charcoal (notice duration fill unchanged)
- Build-from-chests no longer unlocks unknown hammer pieces or feast boards
- Vacuum always syncs the world drop after a partial chest take; restock matches stack quality; storage RPCs reply when off and expire after 3s
0.1.5
- Health/adrenaline and stamina/eitr pairs sit vertically centered on the hotbar
- RestlessPiles can skip extra slots when dumping into a pile
0.1.4
- Clear Valheim 1.0 cheated item marks on inventory write, load, and world drops (F8, host-locked)
- Craft panel keeps vanilla wood when paper-panel art is missing (was a black slab)
- Minimap other-player pins use a cream diamond with an ink edge
- Craft-from-chests no longer treats a too-low bench as “have the materials” (upgrades stay gated by station level)
- Jötunn 2.30.1 (BepInExPack stays 5.4.2350)
0.1.3
- Paper frames on Tab, chests and skills only refit when their bounds move
- Chip buttons restore native layout on undress; HUD extra slots no longer re-dress every frame
0.1.2
- Recipe rows show have/need, including nearby chests
- Craft-from-chests no longer counts a LeaveOne-reserved last unit as available
- Adrenaline sits above health on the left of the hotbar; eitr sits above stamina on the right
0.1.1
- Listing describes RestlessCore only
0.1.0
- Nearby chests for craft, build, station pull, pet pantry, and ground vacuum
- Quick stack (
`) / restock (Shift+````); middle-click slot lock - Extra worn slots and Z / X / C; unequip and upgrade park in the bag
- Area repair, wider station range, repair-on-use, stack size, host-locked F8
- Swim-wield, tame-safe fire, axe combo, loaded crossbow, death pins
- Eternal fires, 20 m hoe, floating drops, network uncap
- Restless HUD, inventory, and map chrome are in this build and still landing — vanilla and Restless currently mix
