README

RestlessCore

Less friction. Clearer information. Still Valheim.

RestlessCore brings the HUD, inventory, crafting and everyday quality-of-life systems together. It is the foundation for the Restless collection and works on its own.

Spend less time moving materials

Craft and build using eligible nearby chests when your bag runs short. Quick Stack deposits into matching storage; Restock tops up what you already carry. Hungry tames can eat from nearby chests, and supported station interactions can find their inputs and fuel there.

Hotbar, equipment/quick slots and locked bag cells stay protected. Empty chests are ignored by Quick Stack and ground-item routing. Material pulls leave one item behind by default, keeping the chest stack available as a destination.

A clearer view of your character

Dedicated equipment slots and Z / X / C quick slots sit beside the bag. Item tooltips show quality and separate set bonuses from individual item stats. Loadout totals let you inspect values and their sources.

The HUD, minimap, inventory/crafting, build information, map and menus share a restrained torn-paper treatment. Notifications stack, and repeated messages consolidate.

Small jobs, fewer clicks

Repair an area, repair equipment at a valid station and seal wood against rain for resin. Keep a loaded crossbow loaded when swapping, keep tools equipped in water and clear death pins when recovery is complete.

Stacks default to 2×; single-item gear stays single. Persistent fires, terrain limits and other gameplay options are configurable. Tames do not hurt players or each other, and ballistae ignore them; players can still kill their own tames.

Start here

  1. Install Core and its dependencies with a mod manager.
  2. Launch modded and open F8, or Restless in the pause menu.
  3. Review gameplay settings with the host and choose your personal HUD preferences.

Gameplay rules are host/server-controlled with locking enabled. Keybinds and visual preferences remain local. Core overlaps other storage-automation, equipment-slot and HUD mods; consult the guide before combining duplicate systems.

Cook, Plant, Piles, Drawers, Storage and Works are separate expansions that use this foundation. Core does not add a skill tree or rarity gameplay by itself.

Installation and help
