Auto POI Marker

Auto POI Marker adds nearby Valheim locations to your map as you find them. Walk into the configured range and the mod shows a large centered discovery message, then places a short label on the map. Dungeons use Valheim's hammer marker icon.

Features

• Configurable discovery radius in meters.
• Dungeon detection for crypts, caves, mines, towers, fortresses, citadels and other dungeon-style locations.
• Optional comma-separated dungeon name filter; use * to mark all detected dungeons.
• A conservative large-POI filter: villages, tar pits, fortresses, major ruins, large Mistlands landmarks and major Deep North locations are included by default. Small huts and ordinary towers are excluded.
• Separate point-of-interest switches for Meadows/Black Forest, Swamp, snowy Mountains, Plains, Ashlands, Mistlands and Deep North.
• Optional large centered notification and optional map marker.
• Client-side only. No server plugin and no custom network messages are required.
• Duplicate map pins are avoided when Valheim exposes its duplicate-pin check.

Installation

1. Install BepInExPack Valheim.
2. Copy plugins/AutoPOIMarker.dll into <Valheim>/BepInEx/plugins/.
3. Start Valheim once. BepInEx creates <Valheim>/BepInEx/config/kann.valheim.autopoimarker.cfg automatically.
4. Edit the config and restart the game if needed.

DungeonNameFilter accepts comma- or semicolon-separated fragments. For example, Crypt,MountainCave,InfestedMine limits discovery to those dungeon names. An empty value or * keeps all detected dungeons enabled.

MarkSnow refers to the snowy Mountain biome. The other point-of-interest switches map directly to their named Valheim biomes. Only non-dungeon locations are handled by the point-of-interest switches; dungeon locations use the [Dungeons] settings.

LargePoiNameFilter is deliberately restrictive. It only marks the listed large POIs, such as Plains tar pits and goblin villages, and excludes ordinary huts and towers. Add a comma-separated location fragment if you want to include another location. Setting it to * marks every non-dungeon location in each enabled biome.

Multiplayer

The scan runs for the local player and the pins are added to that player's local map. Server-side installation is not required, but normal Valheim world and multiplayer rules still apply.
