Rusty Heathens QoL

A standalone Valheim quality-of-life mod built for the Rusty Heathens community.

This is the kept R36 build.

Player inventory

• 8 columns x 6 visible rows = 48 normal player-inventory slots.
• Dedicated Head, Chest, Legs, Back, Utility, Trinket, Ammo, and Food slots remain separate.
• Existing layout migration behavior is preserved.

Rusty Backpack client support

• Works with the server-managed Rusty Backpack in RustyHeathensServerQoL 0.5.3.
• Wave is the normal open trigger when the server is configured for OpenEmote = wave.
• Client-side backpack discovery/open fallback is included.
• Closing the backpack with Esc stays closed until a new open action instead of reopening from delayed retries.
• The kept R36 layout uses the larger scrollable backpack view and retains the backpack weight display.

Nearby-chest crafting

• Crafting/building can count eligible materials in nearby containers.
• Materials on the player are consumed normally first.
• Only the shortage is removed from nearby chests.
• Chest inventory changes are saved/synchronized after consumption.

Preserved features

• Tiered proximity Auto Repair.
• Safe Quick Stack.
• Nearby-chest crafting/building.
• Food hotkeys.
• Full-body character preview.
• Rusty GEAR grave-marker reliability improvements.
• Server-authoritative gameplay settings.

Compatibility

Do not run another mod that rewrites the same player inventory layout.

For Rusty Backpack support, pair this version with RustyHeathensServerQoL 0.5.3.
