Skeleton Better Models

Changes skeleton body proportions to more closely match the body of a Viking. However, due to the peculiar anatomy of Valheim's Vikings, the resulting skeletons look rather... distinctive.

This mod is primarily intended to support other mods that allow skeletons to wear armour in one way or another. One example is the playable Skeleton race from Races of Valheim.

The mod was tested together with RacesOfValheimAzuEPICompatPatch when used for a playable Skeleton character. Visual issues may occur in that use case without the compatibility patch.

Replaced models

• Regular Skeleton;
• Rancid Remains (Skeleton_Poison);
• Hildir's fire skeleton (Skeleton_Hildir and its chestless variant).

The mod preserves the original animations, materials, and variant effects while replacing the body geometry and adjusting the head-effect positions.

Installation

Install with r2modman, Gale, or Thunderstore Mod Manager.

For manual installation, copy SkeletonBetterModels.dll and skeletonbettermodels into the same folder inside BepInEx/plugins.

Notes

• Client-side visual mod; installation on a dedicated server is unnecessary.
• Other players will see the replacement models only if they also have the mod installed.
• The tested setup for a playable Skeleton character uses Races of Valheim together with RoVAzuEPICompatPatch.
