BrennivinProtection

Current release: 1.0.8, audited against the governed current Valheim CLIENT assets.
Adds Brennivín, a cyan-blue fermentable protection flask for Valheim.
- Craft
Mead base: Brennivínat the Mead Ketill. - Ferment the base to produce one Brennivín flask.
- Drink one flask to activate protection for the next death; the flask is consumed immediately.
- Protection is restored after logout/login from its persisted consumed-protection marker.
- A second flask is not consumed while protection is already active, and a flask is not consumed when the world already uses
DeathKeepInventory. - A protected death preserves the player's vanilla inventory/equipment instead of transferring it to a tombstone.
- EquipmentSheet dedicated slots remain in EquipmentSheet and its temporary protection snapshot is cleared when Brennivín protection is spent.
- Protection requires both the Brennivín status effect and the consumed-protection marker.
- Brennivín does not teleport the player to a bed.
- Base recipe uses Cloudberries, Honey, Thistle, Dandelion, and Bone Fragments.
- Uses Jotunn network compatibility and server-controlled gameplay config.

CHANGELOG
Changelog
1.0.8
- Audited BrennivinProtection against the governed current Valheim CLIENT assembly (
59F53FB55D99D22A33E8ED094EEC8D21E9F133543BCE92BC3D80DCE44033ADB1) and current Jotunn 2.30.0 assets. - Verified the current
Player.CreateTombStone(),Player.Load(ZPackage),Player.ConsumeItem(Inventory, ItemData, bool), inventory, custom-data, status-effect, teleport, and retained wake-up contracts used by the source. - Restores active Brennivín protection after character load when the persisted consumed-protection marker is present; current Valheim persists
Player.m_customDatabut not liveSEManstatus effects. - Prevents consuming another Brennivín while already protected and prevents wasting one when
DeathKeepInventoryalready applies. - Clears EquipmentSheet's protection snapshot when Brennivín protection is spent, preventing a stale snapshot from affecting a later death.
- Repairs the maintained build to use the governed shared CLIENT assets instead of the retired loose build-root assembly while retaining local-install compatibility.
- Repairs package publication to stage and validate locally, verify the packaged DLL hash/version, then publish verified output under the project-owned
releases\1.0.8authority. - Synchronizes project, plugin, manifest, README, changelog, build, install-helper, and package version identity to 1.0.8.
1.0.7
- Removes the obsolete sheet-to-bag death compatibility route; protected death leaves EquipmentSheet ownership untouched.
- Keeps EquipmentSheet protection caching as the only cross-mod handoff before death.
1.0.6
- Requires a persistent consumed-protection marker written only when Brennivín is actually consumed.
- Prevents a stale or restored status effect from preserving an unconsumed flask and inventory.
- Clears the consumed marker when protection prevents death, so the next death is normal unless another flask is consumed.
1.0.5
- Drinking Brennivín now activates the persistent “The gods are protecting you” status effect.
- Protection persists through logout/login and is consumed only when it prevents death.
- Preserves vanilla bag items and EquipmentSheet gear without bed teleportation.
- Removed Brennivín’s automatic bed-teleport behavior.
1.0.4
- Adds a direct EquipmentSheet compatibility hook so Brennivín can consume a flask from dedicated sheet storage and skip tombstone creation without moving equipped gear into the vanilla bag.
- Preserves EquipmentSheet gear and inventory when Brennivín death protection activates, including when the vanilla bag is full.
1.0.3
- Fixes a critical EquipmentSheet interaction: when Brennivín death protection activates, sheet gear and food remain in their persistent slots instead of being moved into the vanilla bag before tombstone creation is skipped.
- Prevents the death-protection path from leaving EquipmentSheet items stranded, duplicated, or vulnerable to full-bag loss.
1.0.2
- Added the initial EquipmentSheet death-protection compatibility correction.
1.0.0
- Rebuilt against the current Valheim 1.0 assemblies.
- Preserves Brennivín death protection, inventory/equipment handling, bed teleport, recipe, and Jotunn compatibility behavior.
- Replaced the package icon with a custom-made, non-AI-generated icon.
0.1.3
- Replaced the temporary LightMyFire placeholder package icon with a Brennivín-specific cyan protection flask icon.
0.1.2
- Fixed Brennivín not registering when vanilla mead-base prefabs are material items instead of drinkable consumables.
- Marked
Mead base: Brennivínas a material-style fermentable base item.
0.1.1
- Changed crafting flow so the Mead Ketill creates
Mead base: Brennivín. - Added Fermenter conversion from the base to one Brennivín flask.
- Updated item description text.
- Added a best-effort wake-up animation pulse after drinking teleport completes.
0.1.0
- Initial Brennivín item.
- Added carried death protection that still lets the player die, consumes one flask, and skips tombstone item transfer.
- Added drink action that teleports to the player's claimed bed.
- Added Mead Ketill recipe.
- Added reflective Equipment Sheet death-flow compatibility.
1.0.2
- Prevents the EquipmentSheet compatibility hook from moving sheet items into the bag before Brennivín suppresses tombstone creation, preventing stranded or duplicated sheet gear.
