README

โœจ WeaverEditor

Build NPCs. Create quests. Run your world.

Create conversations, shops and events for Valheim. Connect nodes to choose what happens when a player talks to an NPC, picks an answer or enters a zone.

๐Ÿงฉ What you can do

  • ๐Ÿง™ NPCs and quests: Make greeters, traders and quest givers. Group their replies, show rewards and build quests with several stages.
  • ๐Ÿ”— Graphs: Connect dialogue, options, conditions, waits and actions. Reuse blocks and keep large scripts in named sections.
  • ๐Ÿ“ฆ Content workshop: Share a whole quest or area with its linked content and uploaded media. Check missing links before publishing.
  • ๐Ÿ›’ Player shops: Give players a Vendor Deed. They stock their shop and choose a payment item, such as Coins or Stone.
  • ๐ŸŽ Kits: Give each item its own chance to appear. Wood for everyone, fancy armour for the lucky ones.
  • ๐ŸŒ€ Travel: Create destinations and physical portals. Players use /warp or press E at a portal.
  • ๐Ÿฎ World tools: Place lights, pictures, flags and notes. Build camera scenes with music and subtitles.
  • ๐Ÿพ Spawner patrols: Let creatures roam a radius, patrol a zone or follow points you place. Use a graph to start the encounter.
  • ๐Ÿค Community: Use clans, trading, homes, checkpoints and optional wallets.
  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Admin tools: Manage players, edit registered skills, restore items, recover graves, clean up builds from the map and wear creature costumes.
  • ๐ŸŽญ Costume rewards: Give players creature movement and attacks through kits or graphs. They stay visible and take normal damage.
  • ๐Ÿ” Prop hunt: Place a ready arena, join at its scoreboard and hunt the suspicious furniture with a wooden sword or crossbow.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Install

Install BepInExPack Valheim, then import the ZIP into Gale or your mod manager.

Use the same build on the server or host and every client.

For a manual install, copy plugins/VariantWeaver from the ZIP into BepInEx/plugins. Keep both DLLs together.

When updating, replace the old plugin folder and keep your configs. WeaverEditor replaces Variant Weaver. The package, folder and DLL names stay the same so existing installs can update.

๐Ÿš€ Get started

Open the menu

Press F8 in a world. Admins get editing tools. Players get Travel, Kits, Quests, Appearance, My Vendors, Community and Costumes, as allowed by the server.

Help a stranded Viking

Open Players โ†’ Graves, refresh the list and choose a grave. Move it to your position, coordinates or a saved recovery area. Its items stay in the original grave. Offline owners get a recovery message and map pin when they return. The walk of shame is optional.

Known players keeps player records and staff notes. History helps you find who changed what and when.

Under Players โ†’ Online, select a player and open Player skills to view or change their levels. Registered modded skills appear too. View inventory โ†’ Give item lets admins choose item quality, with tier and enchantment choices when Epic Loot is installed. Changes are checked by the server and recorded in History.

Use Dashboard โ†’ Player menu preview to check the regular player journal or a known player's saved progress. It is read only, with an Exit preview button. Your admin account stays intact.

Skill edits have a short undo window while the player's experience stays unchanged. In an inspected inventory, Copy item settings prepares a recovery item for review. Mods โ†’ Integration status shows which supported extras are available.

Player size changes yourself or an online player from 0.1ร— to 10ร—. Walking, jumping, equipped gear and camera height follow the size. Fall damage uses the character's size too. It stays saved for this world until an admin changes it or chooses Reset to 1ร—.

Use Set Player Size in a graph for a saved size or a temporary size inside a linked zone. Player Size conditions check the current size. Bigger players gain heavier footsteps, with a shared volume setting that starts at 50%.

Select an online player and choose Spectate to follow them with your camera. Mouse looks around, the wheel changes distance, and Esc returns to your player.

Under Settings โ†’ Player menu visibility, choose which F8 pages regular players see. You can hide Clans or Wallet without deleting anything or switching those features off. Changes also refresh an open player preview. Admins keep every page.

Changes to server settings through F1 now go to the server for approval and saving. Personal appearance and sound choices stay yours.

Ghost mode hides your normal form and costumes from other players. Devcommands keeps your position off the map, including Groups and Guilds sharing.

Fly and Ghost have separate switches. Fly gets you around; Ghost keeps the paparazzi away. Other admin mods keep their own settings.

Open Players โ†’ Builds to see structures on the world map. Show zones, select a player or area, then refresh the preview. Removal saves a restore point first. Changed or busy pieces stay put.

Player dates show their last login and last activity in real time. Filter for players away for 30, 60 or 90 days before planning a cleanup. Saved dates stay available after three months.

Make an NPC talk

Place and save an NPC. Create a graph, select the NPC and click Publish & link. Close the menu and press E to talk.

Use Quest builder to choose items, encounters, NPC visits and a reward kit. It creates a graph you can edit. Replies can have separate Quests, Conversation and Trade tabs, with a reason when an option is locked. Before publishing, review what changed and which links use the graph.

Set up kits and travel

Add kits under Community โ†’ Kits and destinations under Travel. Players open them with /kit and /warp. /warp Destination Name travels directly.

Select a kit item and set Chance (%) from 0 to 100. Each item rolls separately. Old entries stay at 100%. These chances also work for chests, graph rewards and spawner loot.

New warps appear in /warp for everyone. Turn off Show in /warp for everyone to hide a destination from players' lists and commands. Its enabled physical portals still work for everyone, including new players. The server's Public travel setting must be on.

When the server blocks restricted items, store metals, Dragon Eggs and other blocked items before travelling. Backpack contents count too. Normal portals keep their own rules.

Tamed companions following you can come along through WeaverEditor travel. Server admins choose whether this is allowed.

Open a player shop

Add a Vendor Deed to a kit and choose its NPC appearance. Players use it to place a shop, deposit stock and set a price. My Vendors holds their stock and earnings. Admins can remove shops; owners can still collect what was left inside.

Trade and find your way home

Use /trade to invite a nearby player. Both players confirm the trade. /clan, /home and /checkpoint open their menus. Set a home with /sethome Name inside your active ward. With Guilds and ProtectiveWards, a ward bound to your guild also counts.

Decorate and make scenes

Open World โ†’ Props for lights, pictures and notes. World โ†’ Scenes has camera shots, music and the shared media library. Scene dialogue has a Valheim frame, word colors and typing speed. Use Browse / Importโ€ฆ to add a picture or song, then save its placement or track. Only admins can place world portals and props.

Play Audio can continue when playback starts or wait until the song finishes. NPC dialogue can use word colors, typing speed, gestures and a saved voice clip.

Open Content โ†’ Content workshop to export linked content and media together, preview an import or check missing links. Imports arrive as drafts with placed content disabled, ready for you to check and enable.

Under Spawners โ†’ Patrol, choose Radius, Zone or Points. Place route points in the world, return to the menu and save the spawner. A graph's Trigger NPC Spawner action uses the saved patrol. These settings apply to future spawns; creatures still fight and flee normally.

Try a costume

Admins can open Costume, choose a model and press Wear / update costume. Creature controls use its movement and available attacks. Seagulls can walk and fly. Wings included.

Admin costumes protect you from damage and NPC targeting. Your inventory stays intact. Choose whether everyone sees an NPC bar or no bar. Your player name stays hidden. Remove costume returns you to normal. Some modded creatures need their own scripts for special abilities.

Save a Costume reward, then add Costume Claim to a kit and choose that reward. Players use the claim item and wear their unlocked looks under F8 โ†’ Costumes. Creature rewards can walk, fly and use their available attacks. Choose appearance mode for a look that keeps normal player controls. Neither gives players god mode or invisibility.

Costume access lasts 12 real hours by default, including time offline. Set a different duration or choose unlimited access in the reward settings. Admins can change a player's expiry later.

Admins can select a player under Players to remove their current costume or revoke costume rewards. Known players can have rewards revoked while offline too.

For prop hunt, open World โ†’ Prop hunt โ†’ Place ready arena. Click where you want its zone and scoreboard. Players enter the zone and press E at the board to join. Seekers use a Pro Hunt Sword or Pro Hunt Crossbow and must hit a prop directly. The crossbow needs no ammo and reloads in three seconds by default. Hidden props whistle every 30 seconds. Change weapons, timers, props and winner rewards in the event settings.

Server rules can hide the maps, remove stamina costs during a round, keep hostile creatures out and protect scenery. World โ†’ Events also lets you build your own events with timed phases and graphs for starts, results and cleanup.

Running prop hunts show a thin boundary around the arena. Change its colour, width, height and visibility under Player boundary, or use the shared Prop hunt settings. The outside warning keeps its own grace timer.

For a marketplace or custom boss area, enable Zones โ†’ Area rules โ†’ Keep ordinary enemies out. It works whenever the zone is enabled, without an event running. WeaverEditor and Odin Hates Litter encounter creatures are allowed, and wards keep their ownership and access rules. Graphs can turn protection on or off with Keep Zone Enemies Out, or check it with Zone Enemy Protection Enabled.

The wooden scoreboard shows the round timer, joined players, wins and finds while you look at it.

Props choose their first look, then press R for a random change from the event's list. The default cooldown is 30 seconds. Admins can change the cooldown and movement speed.

Change colours and text size under Settings โ†’ Appearance. Players have their own Appearance page too.

๐Ÿงฐ Other mods

WeaverEditor works with BepInEx on its own. Everyone needs the content mods used by your NPCs, graphs and props. Guilds, Groups, Backpacks and extra inventory integrations are optional.

Choose Guilds as the clan provider if you use it. Groups can show your party. Keep other free camera modes off while a scene plays. Custom storage and creature systems may need their own integration.

Back up the world and the whole BepInEx/config/VariantWeaver folder.
